HORRIBLE experience. Took 49 days to do a less than 15 day job. Insurance said they needed a supplement for corrected labor hours (basically, WHY did it take so long). David, the owner, was as obstinate as humanly possible. This went on for MONTHS. Multiple phone calls, multiple emails, multiple visits to the shop. He would say he would do something, then not do it, while arguing about it the entire time. Over and over again. Rude to both me and my wife for no reason. He said that he has never submitted a supplement for corrected labor hours to any insurance company. I talked to my insurance company and they said this supplement is actually very common. In the end, he told the insurance company that "sometimes we get busy, so I set it aside" as the reason for the delay, so insurance denied the additional claim for loss of use. However, he had told me previously that part of the delay was because he ordered the wrong part and needed to wait for the correct part, in addition to supply chain issues. Thanks, David, for refusing to help and for repeatedly lying to us. I was referred to you by Tom Dwyer (great auto repair shop) and I told them of my experience with you. I hope it was worth it. I still have no idea what your problem was, other than not wanting to help your customer in any way. As for the body repair itself, an improperly installed door caused a hitch and a loud noise when opening and closing. Had to bring it back in to be fixed. Also the new paint color looks off compared to the original sections. These were the observable issues. I hate to consider what I can't see based on how they run their business. read more

This is the second time I have taken a car to Sharp and their customer service is excellent, their level of car repair is top quality, and they are a family company who strives to do superior work at their craft. The final cost to repair my RAV4 was less than the estimate because a tech gave a discount which was passed on to me- this is ethical business practice rather than the company adding this to their profit. My car was also cleaned and the interior spruced up too when I picked it up. While visiting Sharp Auto Body last year I propped my bicycle next to the building just outside the door and while I was in the shop someone got on the bike and rode off. The guys at the shop viewed the video tape and chased down the person who took the bike. JP got in his truck and took off after him. The whole shop got in on this and it was all hands on. I WILL ONLY EVER TAKE MY CAR HERE AND NO WHERE ELSE!!!!!! Their customer service is absolutely through the roof. My car was damaged in a hit-and-run, and I was recommended to Sharp by a friend. When my car was towed by my car dealership and things went wrong, Sharp stepped in got their own towing company to go pick up my car all the way from Vancouver. I cannot say it enough time how amazing this auto body shop is. They were SO good about communicating everything!!! JP and Dave are AMAZING!!! I will literally be telling everybody I know about sharp autobody. Auto body shops get such get a lot of people thinking that they're going to be screwed over or something, sharp doesn't do that at all they keep you informed during the whole process and they go above and beyond to make everything right. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. In the end: My car alarm just needed to be plugged back in. But let me assure you that not only were they extremely friendly about it, even when they thought they couldn't fix it they offered for me to take it to my dealership and pay for it. These folks are terrific. They're friendly and professional and follow COVID precautions. They worked closely with my insurance company and with Enterprise rental company. The rental car was ready when I dropped my car off. The work they did was flawless, and they even cleaned the inside of my car. The work cost a little more than my insurance company's estimate, but all I had to do was sign over the insurance company's check and pay my deductable. They worked out the remaining details directly with the insurance company. I dropped my rental car off when I picked my car up, and they took care of making arrangements to get the rental car back to the Enterprise. The office was comfortable and welcoming. I was referred to this auto body shop by my auto place Tom Dwyer. So glad I asked them where to go. I had a couple of "hit and run" damages to my car that I wanted to get fixed. Dave was just awesome to work with. Very professional and nothing was an issue. No problem with the rental car as well. The work done was great, and I had wanted a couple of other non related claim dings fixed and fixed them with minimal extra cost. They also popped in a tail light for me which was damaged by someone, who again didn't leave a note to tell me, at no extra cost. I really appreciated this extra kindness. Really a great experience. Needed a new car window. JP was very quick and honest in giving me a quote (which was not bad at all), and delivery was fast. Squeezed me in next day after it arrived and it only took a few hours. They even vacuumed out my car for me! JP even took the time to clean off the tape residue that was stuck on my door from my at-home temporary repair; he also popped my side mirror back into place, which I hadn't been able to do previously. Very pleasant experience working with Sharp Auto Body & Paint. They worked directly with my State Farm insurance to replace my bumper after my car was hit. There is a bit of a wait to schedule but it's worthwhile with how easy they make the process - not to mention their quoted estimate was much more affordable than others! I unexpectedly had to go out of town a few days after my repair was scheduled and they were very accommodating and able to work with me so I could get my car back in time. When I picked my car up after the repairs it looked cleaner than when I dropped it off, I'm pretty sure they cleaned the inside as well which is a nice touch. I recently made a "mistake" in my vehicle, and needed to have some minor body work done. After searching around to see who had a good reputation in town, and being reminded by my wife that Sharp had worked on our other car several years previously, I took my baby in for an estimate. Dave was great, and asked me if I was looking to simply have the "mistake" bent back into shape, or if I was looking to go all the way with a "like new" repair. I opted to go for the "like new", and within a few minutes I had a detailed written estimate. After going home and thinking it over, I called to make an appointment. The day after I dropped my vehicle off, I got a call from Dave. My first reaction was to assume that something had gone awry. Turns out my first reaction was wrong. Dave said that they had started into the repair, and that it had actually bent back out quite well. He suggested that I drop by and check it out, and if I still wanted to go ahead with the much more expensive repair, they could do it, but he really thought I should take a look first. When I got there, the only visible evidence that anything had been damaged was a small scuff mark at the extreme lower corner of the front door, which is probably only visible to me. I also suspect that with a little elbow grease, even that little mark can be buffed out. Needless to say, I was quite happy with the much simpler repair, and was very happy to have my vehicle back at a vastly lower cost than the original estimate. Aside from the beautiful work, of course, was the fact that, even though we had already agreed on, and I had already approved the more expensive service, Sharp saw an opportunity to show some exceptional customer service, and also demonstrate the kind of honesty that one really hopes to find in any retail or service business. I had an unfortunate, unavoidable accident (a pet ran out in front of my car), which I don't want to trouble you about, but let's just say that my car's whole carriage had shifted and a headlight was out. I was going 15-20 in a 30 MPH zone since I was going to stop for coffee. I'm glad I wasn't going the speed limit. That said, I called Sharp's and they were able to get me in that day. We set up an appointment on the phone and they were efficient and friendly, a great combo for a car place! I brought my car there. Since the damage was so extensive, I brought in my insurance, State Farm. It turns out they work with Sharp's and regard it as a trustworthy and efficient. So true! From there, my insurance and Sharp's worked together to figure out what needed to be done. All I had to do was pay the deductible, which turned out to be very manageable. Sharp's also set up a car rental for me (since our other car decided to have brake problems that same day. Funny. When it rains it pours, and we know that in Portland, don't we? ;) ). Sharp's took care of everything. And, fast. And, they also washed my car inside and out. Awesome. Admittedly, I have no real experience with body shops but from the first phone call to Sharp through to the moment I stared in wonder at my seemingly-brand new Honda, it was a terrific experience. Other than, y'know, having bashed in the front fender. Everyone I dealt with was extremely helpful and thorough and Dave handled all the backstage work with insurance and the rental company (Enterprise, yay!). The shop, incidentally, is pristine which is not something I expect in auto work. Stopped by here a few weeks ago at the very end of the day to get a quote on some small chip repairs on my wife's Corolla. I was met by a smiling tech who took a quick look and told me to just drop it off in the morning and he'd have it fixed in no time--was quoted roughly $25-30 for the fix. I came back the next day and left the car with the same cheerful tech. Picked the car up at the end of the day and the car was ready to go. The amiable owner was in the office and between the two of them they agreed that: THERE WAS NO CHARGE! This shop is great. Great service! I needed two window mechanisms fixed and decided to try Sharp. When he opened up the driver side he found that it didnt need to be replaced but tightened so no charge. However the passenger side he found that the window bottom was broken and needed to be replaced. He told me that a new one would be $280 but he went ahead and found a used one for $80. read more
