Here you will find your typical Chuck Taylor All Stars in a bunch of different colors and with it being an outlet, depending on your luck you will find a few special gems. Discontinued items, past seasonal designs, and slightly imperfect goods will find its way here. Sizes can be limited depending on what is available in stock so come here with an extremely open mind. 3 stars overall. While I enjoy a good discount, most of the shoes here are obviously "off" when it comes to its aesthetics. Shoes will have sloppy glue work and/or one shoe will be a lot more rounder or more narrowed at the top of the toe. They have a lot shoes to choose from but a bit pricey. We can usually find certain ones that my family likes for about $5-10 less at other stores. The store was organized and clean. I saw a staff member going thru the shoes making sure each box had a patching pair and the shoe size was in the correct area. I asked about my daughter's shoe size in kids vs women's size, she didn't tell me what size I needed to look for but just pointed in the direction I needed to search. We ended up leaving since we know we can find shoes somewhere else for less. It was funny to see my daughter's eyes light up to see so many of her favorite brand shoes all in one place. read more

Been a fan of Converse...moreover, their style for a long time, they're comfy slip-on/shoes. Don't know if it's the product or just me being too harsh on them, but the declining quality of the All Stars have been noticeable. Customer service has been great at this location from the many times I've visited, very attentive and down to earth people, so it's all good in that department. Lately, I've grown to like their competitor's brand, rhymes with Can's. :) living an active lifestyle, these shoes/sandals are just built a little better, no need for added shoe goop. So I went in on Black Friday and as expected it was busy totally fine, now let me say converse as a corporation you are terrible, what's the point of offering 15% if you aren't going to give it to the customer as soon as they sign up for your rewards. Instead they said that we had to wait 15 to 30 min in order to get the deal which is ridiculous especially on a Black Friday. This used to be the place to shop.....You have no idea! About a decade ago, while still working as a roadie I discovered the Converse Stores 'defect wall'. A wall of factory seconds (shoes with a minor defect) that they sold for $15/pair or 2 pairs for $25. (new converse were $45 at the time. Now new Converse are $55/pair and the 'defect wall' (now called the discount wall) is typically $45/pair. There are multiple other stores in the mall selling Converse for much less, and even cheaper if they're having a sale. I pop in and look now, but typically buy nothing. Gives me an idea of what to look for online or at another store. read more

If it wasn't for a good friend of mine who needed a baby gift, I would have never stepped into this store. He happens to only wear Converse besides dress shoes for work so we wandered around the store after he picked out a onesie/beanie/converse bootie set for baby boy. I own one pair of Converse-- a black leather pair which has gotten a fair amount of use. One of the only reasons I don't wear them as often as my other tennies is because they just aren't that comfortable. The homie explained to me that all of the new Chuck Taylor All Star II's have the new Nike technology in the soles to make them more comfortable. Yippee! So I told him that if he bought me a pair, I would wear them. It hasn't happened yet but I'm sure with a fair amount of convincing, the homie will come around. In the Milpitas Great Mall, there's a great lil Converse store that has good deals and sales. I love the retro look and feel of a lot of Converse gear. It's fun, practical and durable. My only gripe with them is that instead of wearing a 5.5 or 6 like I do in some shoe brands, I wear a 3 - kids.... seriously? This really limits the shoes available to me. However... I do get my kicks for super cheap. ;-) My boyfriend and I were there recently and picked up some gear. He got a t-shirt and I got a cool hat. I was gonna get some grey kicks too but they didn't have my size 3. *sigh* That combined with the staff that I had to approach for help (they were all hanging out together talking and then slow to help), knocks it down 1-star. I brought the boy on a whim to this converse store to see if we could find a couple of pairs for ourselves. I'd been a couple years back after my '11 visit, but haven't been wearing my chucks as much and I tend to run them into the ground, duct-taped soles and all, so it's been awhile. I didn't much think that they were probably having a Presidents day sale, but the shoes were mostly BOGO 1/2 off, and I usually shop from the clearance wall anyway. But surprisingly, we still got the half off the lower clearance item - making out like a bandit at $15 for a pair of awesome high tops. My main issue with this store is still there. They desperately - desperately, need to create a children's section and it's the only reason for me this store isn't 5 stars. Free range children roam the small aisles, cough on you and trip over your boxes while you're trying on what you'd actually like to buy. It's an absolute mess and quite seriously a huge deterrent in shopping here. Converse should really give them some couches up front and fun picture chairs to look at or something. All in all the boy and I got some fabulous chucks - mine were on him for a Valentines Day gift , dawwwww, and his were super nifty batman styled. My husband and i visited your store today with our 5 month old infant and decided what a cute idea it would be for all of us to get matching converse so we did a little bit of trying on for our baby and during that time we were customer serviced about 4 times just as we walked in! after declining each one i started getting a bit confused as to why they felt like we needed the most help in a store packed full of other customers. now that we had our infants correct size we move onto the mens area in the back and my husband is trying on shoes while i'm trying to get our baby to stop fussing so i put him in the wrap on me. during this time, the same people are walking up and circling around us asking if we need help literally seconds after one another. two workers stay put about 3-5 feet away just staring at our family while two other workers continue to circle around us constantly asking if we need help. what on earth are we doing that's so wrong that we "need" so much fucking assistance. the answer is, they know that we don't. they think we're in there to steal, treating us as if we're criminals and "deterring" theft by customer servicing. normal servicing is fine, that is your job, after all, but a constant watch a constant question if we need help 30 seconds after one another and walking around the store peeping and following us is a level of harassment. after making our purchase, i asked to speak to the manager and let him know my displeasure of shopping with them today and the only thing that he said was he's sorry i got the wrong impression and how they were waiting for someone they haven't seen in a long time return back to the store, something completely irrelevant and a topic change. this isn't a matter of me getting the "wrong impression". anyone getting constantly approached for no reason while minding their own business shopping is harassment and dare i even say discrimination. is a filipino man and a white woman with a baby such a scene that causes workers to disengage customer service with any other shopper in the store just for our family "spectacle"? i'm honestly so disgusted by the treatment in this store and it leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. read more

NEVER SHOP THERE. Long story short : customer service is terrible. The store manager, named Leon, is beyond rude and super aggressive. I was buying 4 (!) pairs of shoes, and had the feeling he was going to punch me anytime. Nobody come to help you choose or give you any advice. The only time the guy came was to complain that... I was trying shoes. My big mistake : I tried 6 pairs of shoes (buying 4 at the end, remember). I also replaced the ones I was not using in the shelf (!). But he complained SEVERAL times that I tried too much shoes in a super aggressive way, even after paying . If you like the idea of spending money to be yelled at, this is your perfect spot. Yep yep yep back to the not so Great Mall. Still I have a purpose in mind. And that is to pick up baby Chuck Taylors. You see many of my friends who don't live in San Francisco have taken to breeding. Breeding means little ones which means presents. Think about it. Anywho I discovered that baby Chuck Taylors are the perfect gift to get for a little one who's just started walking (think about a year old or so). Seriously, they're the only shoe that can stay around their chubby little ankles and not a complete pain to put on (if you need any further proof ask any parent with a child what it's like to put on shoes--you'll probably hear more than you need to know). Plus they only run for $20 so you can feel good that you got a practical and affordable present for the little one. Heck you're styling the little beester into a hipster. Check the box to make sure you get two of each type so you don't have a Linda J. type shoe fiasco (dude not cool). They also of course have Converse for us big people too. Yeah, the traditional styles prices are virtually identical to other places but they do have some sweet deals on more unique styles. Came here for some rare All-Stars that I had to have. Over the phone the lady dug them out and confirmed the size. Sadly when I got there the shoes were too big. All 4 employees got together to find my shoe in another location as they didnt have any smaller sizes for me there. I was very impressed by their willingness to help and how friendly and polite there were, even though they had to call all kinds of other stores. I love that Converse has a shop here. I wish it were a tiny bit closer to SF but that's not really a complaint. I picked up a pair of shoes for the kid that were $12 less than what Nordstrom had them at. Nice. What's not so nice is the service. This is my favorite converse store. Always have the shoe I want, friendly staff, always willing to help out with questions with the merch. This store is always neatly clean.. Does that make sense? Hmm no matter. Have a big selection of all types of converse on hand and always got my size in stock. Uh yeah! And the store is not overly crowed get in get what I need and out. As I've stated in past reviews: I hate the Great Mall. I hate the stroller derby races of parents who can't find the park for their kids. This stores ONLY saving grace is Gerard. I bought my daughter shoes over this last weekend. We got the classic high tops, of which only one comes in the box. I asked the kid working to bring us the other shoe. 5 minutes later I check out and all is good. Nope, not good. We get home and The kid has given us two left shoes. I call the store and speak with Mathew. he doesn't know if they have a manager. I ask to speak with someone else. "oh, he's like, busy, wanna call back?" No I don't wanna call back!!!! I tell him to put someone else on the phone. I get Kim. Kim, well, she's special. She starts laughing when I explain the two left shoes and when I point out its a forty minute drive back, now she's really cracking up. I told her to stop laughing, its not funny. "oh yeah, that's hella funny, this is like a self service store, Duh!" I told her there was only one shoe in the box on the floor. "oh, dude, you bought classics" with a sneer Well no shit huh? So I asked her if she was stoned. she says "like dude, duh, no, I'm working right now!" I am so mad at this point. I mean is this for real? Does her dad own the store? Is she sleeping with the boss? Ok, I really think this is why they should have an employee screening program. I called the corporate office and made a formal complaint. There is just no excuse for making fun of customers, even worse if its the employees fault a mistake was made. I finally get time to drive back to get a right shoe on Tuesday. This is an outlet so here is what I want: just put the stuff out and ring me up. Beyond that I truly hope these employees enjoy their job and have fun with their co workers because life is short and retail sucks. Customer service is a privilege, not a right. You people who shop at the Great Outlet Mall and expect good customer service are ridiculous. Why don't you try working long days and getting paid close to minimum wage. I too have worked in retail as many of you claim but instead of attitude, I have something called empathy. No one works in retail as a dream job, it where you end up until you hopefully figure out what you want or if you have that figured out, find a way to achieve it. So, for all of you who expect to walk into an outlet shop and get good customer service you either need to get a reality check or suck it up and put it in perspective...people all around you in the Bay Area and beyond are hungry, homeless and ill and here you are pouty about a slightly rude clerk.
