Girls working at this store are so unprofessional and how they carry themselves in front of customers. Watching tik tok and on instagram. No common sense as an employee when customer is waiting to get help. The store and shoes are always misplaced and not organized by sizes! You will find size 5 and size 8 shoes in 1 box... my husband was literally laughing how messy this place and boxes are sized wrong. You will find a boxes with missing shoe or wrong sizes in that box and employee will just give you annoyed look "we don't know where other shoe is, it's possibly stolen" Also their return/exchange policy is 2 months. 2 months for what?! To summarize don't take shoes home and try to bring them back because it's apparently worn and district manager makes a decision but you have to email him!! I have sent him emails and got no response. I went to Curtner location and they were so nice and helped me with return without any issues, I have original receipt and shoes in box looks not USED for the records. Milpitas location horrible! I honestly regret spending money on shoes here. I will take a 15 min drive to CURTNER. So clean; more selections, but friendly and care about employees, not on their phones. Sounds good to me! After waiting a really long time in line, we get to the cashier which was a guy with a man bun and he starts scanning. For some reason he seems really frustrated already. Then he delivers the news. One of the pair of shoes doesn't qualify. He said it was too expensive, but then the pair that qualified was even MORE expensive. Such a bargain on shoes if you don't mind sifting through unorganized, incorrectly placed shoe boxes. Off Broadway carries a huge variety of brands though the actual shoe styles can be extremely limited. They carry all types of shoes from boots, assorted athletic shoes, loafers, slip-on tennies, sandals, and heels [simple or super flashy]. Definitely something for the entire family's needs. Customer service is okay, nothing over the moon fantastic but nothing worth crying over with my past experiences. Employees walk around the store "organizing" the shoes which ultimately means they simply straightening out the shoe boxes, leaving the actual shoes to be out of order and not in the appropriate places. I purchased my daughter a backpack today at the Off Broadway Shoe warehouse at the great mall. After the purchase was completed, the cashier writes something on the receipt and so I asked her, I can return this item if we don't like it, correct? She says, oh no, backpacks are not returnable. So, I said, where does it say that? She point to the receipt that I just received AFTER the purchase and then points to some sign in tiny font behind the cash register that NO ONE can read. So, I asked for a refund and gave her advice that she should tell customers that backpacks are not refundable prior to completing the purchase. She gave me a refund because this refund policy is NOT posted anywhere customers could read, which is bad practice, but gave me ATTITUDE. It's not my fault that you were not trained well and if you are going to be in the customer service business, DO BETTER. read more

I was walking into the store and turned the corner and I tripped on a raised display area. I tried to catch myself but ultimately fell onto my left side, hitting my arm and thigh/leg along the way. I laid there for about 5 minutes until I knew I hadn't broken anything but I was in immense pain. There were at least 5 customers along with my husband and sister who witnessed the incident and asked if I was okay or needed help. There were also 2 men walking outside the store who saw and came in specifically to check on me. There were around 6-7 employees that I saw (a few names I got were Adriana and Judai) and not one of them checked to make sure I was okay or even came over, despite the other customers yelling for help. There was a young lady employee who I saw looking over but she did not say or do anything to assist. I had to have my husband help me up and I had to walk to the check out to ask for a manager. I also asked for a phone number to corporate but was never given that number by the employee I spoke to named Yana. Yana had me walk over to "reenact" the incident where she said that since the raised area was just part of the building that the store in particular was not liable for my fall. I informed her that it was disheartening that not even one employee came to check on me and that this incident could have been a lot worse had I hit my head or even gone through the glass windows in front of the store. Yana did not show any empathy and was more concerned with covering herself and the store than making sure that I was okay. I am not usually one to make a fuss about anything, as I have worked retail and understand some things are out of employees control, but this was blatant disrespect of my and others safety and I think it needed to be addressed. In preparation for an upcoming vacation trip to an island, I decided that I needed to buy some new water-shoes and sandals. After searching through the Great Mall in Milpitas (which I feel is terribly overcrowded during the current COVID-19 uptick), I was surprised that I couldn't find anything at the traditional shoe stores (e.g., Nike, New Balance, Puma, etc.). However, I noticed Off Broadway Shoes while walking by it. I had never been inside this story (even before COVID), so this was all new to me. To my surprise, I found some very GOOD shoes at GREAT prices. In addition to the perennial mainstay brands (such as Nike, Adidas, etc.), this store sells "better" brands like Merrell, Brooks, Keen, etc. I ended up finding a pair of Teva sandals that were wonderfully comfortable. They had some great Merrell water-shoes for the beach too. Best of all: The prices here just couldn't be beat. Not only were the prices low, but they also had one of those Buy One Get One Half-Off sales. As someone who wears size 12 men's shoes, I was happy with the large selection of shoes in my size. The customer service was great too. I was approached a couple of times and asked if I needed any assistance or advice (even when I was in the "Clearance" section in the back-left of the store). I noticed that the store has all different types of shoes -- from running and cross trainers to dress shoes, sandals and hiking boots/shoes. Their prices for Keen and Merrell were even better than the outlet stores. I will definitely be back. read more

It's a pleasure to add to the poor reviews of this sorry excuse for a shoe store. The women here treated me like they were unsavory headmistresses at an English boarding school. The size in which my shoes were available was all on the top row, so I was forced to take down all the intervening boxes. When I found what I was looking for and took it to the counter, the woman actually told me that she will refuse service to me until I clean up all the boxes from the floor! I thought that was what the employees of the store are paid for... Now, I would not have had to take so many boxes down if my size were not all on the top. In that particular case they could have come up with one of two solutions: either have a ladder or put up a sign saying we should ask for assistance. As it happened, I was told not once but thrice that it was my job, not theirs, to clean the boxes up. I suppose that's their definition of customer service. This store deserves to go out of business. Not only are its employees rude beyond measure, they expect customers to do the job they have been hired to do. This is of course unprofessional in the extreme but it also shows a fundamental lack of understanding of capitalism. That is because the end result of my experience was that not only will I easily find the shoes I am looking for in another store, but the women at Off Broadway will now lose my business and still have to clean up all those boxes, which is a double loss. That is stupidity exemplified. You really wish stores hired people with a slightly better understanding of customer service and how capitalism works. read more

After a movie I decided to finally buy the pair of shoes i've been eyeing for the last month. I walked in the store and was rudely told "You have 15 minutes." to look around by what I later found out was a manager of some sort. I picked out my shoes and browsed around for about 10 minutes debating on another pair and then finally got in line. At this time there were still 5ish people browsing around and at least 5 in front of my partner and I waiting to pay. While they were in line I went back to grab one more pair only to realize my size was the display and last available. The shoe had a charm on it that was damaged and the box for the shoes was no where to be found. A super kind sales associate told me without a box shoes are final sale, i told her about the charm damage and she stated that the people up front were managers and could help me. When i walked up front to pay one of the managers, Joleen was so incredibly rude and blunt. She didn't make any eye contact with me at check out. When i told her about the shoes missing a box and having slight damage she offered me 5% off the pair. My overall experience was VERY poor. As a retail worker myself and in a management position I understand how exhausting working a customer service job can be, but the energy you put out there to your customers comes back to you. If you don't mind shopping in unorganized chaos or being talked down to by managers, this place is for you. :) read more

Gentle reminder: The so called "sale" they have is very misleading and the employees who ignore you basically tell you lies so you can buy another pair. Took my mother to buy a pair of sandals, she of course found two styles that were part of the buy one get one free sale. The bald cashier working being sarcastic tried saying that the shoes don't qualify and basically telling my mom to buy 2 of the same style of shoes but in a different color (why would anyone do that). Isn't the reason to have a sale is so you can buy two different styles at a good sale price. The employees need to be retrained or at lease be more helpful on describing sales and what qualifies and what doesn't. This is one of those places that tends to throw me off. The name sounds like a lady's shoes store. If it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't even think of stepping in here. It reminds me of another shoe store I recently visited, but I won't mention it here. I see that they have a good variety of dress shoes for men, but I'm rarely in the market for those types of shoes. I'm usually looking for athletic kicks. They have a fair selection of shoes, but you won't find the best Nike or Adidas models that you would find at other places. This place caters to women more than men. With a male's perspective in mind, this place doesn't work for me. However, it can be a great place for women or for men who aren't picky about their kicks. read more

I came across this store when I first went into the mall. I bypassed it thinking I should try the other shoe stores. What a big mistake, I wandered through all the shoe stores in the mall and came up with nothing. After my 360 degree mall tour, I end up at Off Broadway. What do you know. They had a pair of flats that fit me and are comfortable! I also picked up a pair of nice dress shoes. Clerks left you alone. Inventory was somewhat organized. There were no lines at the register when I was there which was a good thing! Minus one star for the clerk who did not bag my purchases. Ever since that dumb bag law went into effect, clerks seem to think they can abdicate the bagging duties to the customer. Honey, the law didn't say you take a leave from your duty. If someone spends $100 on shoes, you should bag the merchandise for them. read more

My mom could not stop talking about how she was so grateful that Amy was there to help her with her return and transaction when someone at a different location was no help at all. TLDR; decent amount of styles and colors variation. Constantly felt unnecessarily approached. Came in before lunch time on a Friday looking for shoes for my engagement and wedding. Sam helped me at check out and she was great. But while I was looking at shoes, I was constantly approached by employees maybe every 10-15 minutes, one specifically approached me three times, after I told them no I was just looking. I felt very pressured especially when the same employee kept approaching me and at one point asked me why I was taking so long. Aside from the service, they had a lot of styles but almost none of the styles I looked at had it in the size I needed (7 or 7.5), so just mildly annoying. But they can order certain styles/color for you. I had to order one pair, the other shoe I was looking at was not available to be ordered. This is more of a company/inventory issue. That said, I feel mildly motivated to find a pair from elsewhere due to feeling quite uncomfortable. It wasn't busy at all, so I get that it's noticeable when a customer has been browsing for quite a bit. I just personally only like being helped when I've asked for it. I do appreciate when employees ask me if I need help, but when I tell you no 5 times, I was really hoping you'd get the message. read more

This Off Broadway is huge! They have several clearance racks in the back which are definitely worth looking at! My boyfriend found me a really good deal on some sandals. The only reason it's rated poorly is because when we were checking out we had to complete the transaction about 3 times before the cashier checked me out correctly. First, when the shoes rang up, they were marked as 40% off when it should have been 60%. The second time, the cashier took a 20% off of the 40% off because she thought that would be the same price as 60% off. Finally she got my transaction correct and there was an additional $5 off your first purchase so I got really nice looking wedge sandals for under $15. I probably will be coming here again because of the good deals, but keep a really close eye on whether or not I've been rung up correctly! read more

This store is pretty recent at the Great Mall, but not too bad. Tons of variation in shoes. However, sizes on the other hand...may be a bit difficult. Workers were nice asking if I needed help with my needs and made it a nice atmosphere to be around even though it was a bit crowded when I went. I grabbed a pair of black high boots and didn't realize the R/L were different sizes. One was a size 9 while the other was size 9.5. I'm glad the lady at the cashier noticed. So the ladies behind the counter offered to do an order, but it'll take about a week to deliver. And they offered to look up the availability of the boots at their store on Curtner (The Plant). Sadly, I needed a pair immediately so I went to go look for another pair that actually were the right sizes AND that fitted. Went back in line about 10mins later to the same cashier that had helped me earlier (surprisingly) and we both laughed. At least I got it right the 2nd time! I found this place to be like any other shoe store but one thing I've noticed and why I'm giving this place a 4-star was the service they provided. You can find some pretty remarkable deals here on items that have probably been rejected by the big name shoe stores. I have found many gems in this location, and I'll keep coming back for more. The prices are dirt cheap, and the product is comparable to the competitors out there. I would say that I've bought 3-4 pairs of shoes here, and all at bargain prices. The staff employees let you roam around and are available for questions, but will never bother you unnecessarily. I wish all shoe stores did this instead of treating everyone like potential thieves. Its a nice store with a large number of choices. There was a whole shelf that had 50% off signs all over the dntire shelf. The shoes we grabbed was in that row and the rest of the boxes were there. Whdn we went to pay they said it was not ringing at 50% off. They went back to where we got the shoes and saw the signs. The employees said they could honor it if manager approves but they refused to come out and talk to me and declined the approval request. This store is BRAND spanking new, so friggin clean, nice and neat! I only went in here once so far and didn't get a chance to thoroughly look around the store but it is definitely super clean, nice and neat. The associates were super nice too asking me if I needed help. It was quite emptied when I went. I don't know how it is when it's busy. I don't know about their prices though because I wasn't really looking. I was just browsing around and they do sell designer stuff. I think the next time I come back I will thoroughly look and check out the prices. They have a clearance section in the back too. This store definitely reminded me of DSW. This store sell stuff for men, women, children and maybe baby? They sell shoes, bags, scarves, wallets, jewelry, etc. So far so good...I don't have any complaints. Huge selection of shoes, and I love the atmosphere here of shopping at your own pace (as opposed to a sales guy breathing down your neck, trying to get you to buy the shoes before you finish tying them). There are staff members around, but they are pretty much just there if you have questions. I found a nice pair of polo shoes for about $40. Since I live so close to Great Mall this will definitely be my first stop for shoes. VERY AFFORDABLE. read more

Only issue I ever encountered was if they don't have my shoe size, they have to order it. They never have the shoes in the backroom. Terrible customer service. Their employees have a really bad attitude towards customers. I try to be extremely empathetic to anyone and try to give them the benefit of doubt because maybe they're having a terrible day. But the way they talk to their customers is extremely condescending and irritating. Even if you want to deny any requests for returns, there is a much better way than saying "you can do whatever you want" or "oh we thought you were never coming back here again". Decent selection of shoes, and the floor staff was helpful. However the young lady at the register convinced me to never come back. The box my shoes came with was missing a top, after paying, I asked for a box top or just another box, there were two empties sitting right next to her....simple and easy. Apparently that was too much for her and this store, she said no, without explanation and wouldn't talk about it anymore. People have bad days and things happen, I understand. The line took forever because of some register issue she didn't know how to deal with. I asked around to see if anyone can help me and only one person this memorial day weekend helped me. I just want to say I've never had a place go above and beyond with helping a customer out like this place did. I was in desperate need of shoes, booties to be exact for a concert I had called 9 different shoe stores looking for a shoe and this store and the manager went above and beyond with helping me. I don't remember they managers name but she was super sweet and the phone and was more then happy to help me find a shoe that was similar to what I was looking for. I work in customer service and any location that is willing to go above and beyond to help their customer have a wonderful and stress-free shopping experience is definitely a company that deserves my business and any/all referral I send their way.
