Unit one was commissioned in 1974 and unit two in 1980. They are owned by Entergy Arkansas and operated by Entergy Nuclear. Their licenses run through 2034 and 2038, respectively. The steam rising from the cooling towers is visible from I-40, about halfway between Fort Smith and Little Rock. Getting to the "restricted area" is about a ten minute drive. Or you might be boating on Lake Dardanelle which is used as a source of cooling but there's an exclusion zone there too. As an Arkansas resident, I was a customer of Entergy Arkansas which was formerly known as Arkansas Power and Light. I never had a problem with nuclear power plants. We called multiple times for a delivery and got the run around - 30-40 minute wait to speak to a representative every time, deliveries promised multiple times, no local service - and then, when we finally cancelled service, they told us tank pick up would be $299 dollars plus another $159 for service fees. If you want horrible service, go with Amerigas. If you actually want GOOD service and get to speak with someone immediately, we have spoken with companies in and near Little Rock and already 100% more satisfied. AMERIGAS IS UNETHICAL AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED.

They have caused significant damage including to my sprinkler system and I can't talk to anyone at the company. It's virtually impossible to reach anyone locally. I have been assured time and again by their CS dept., when I can understand them, that I would be receiving a call but one has never come. I am taking my business to Ferrell Gas which I can call and talk to someone right in their offices.
