I had read the negative reviews about the service but most seemed to be from a Thanksgiving debacle last year so assumed things had improved. The one waiter (for what looked to be at least 25 diners) was working his tail off and truly did the best he could in am impossible situation. Why they did not learn from the Thanksgiving experience is hard to understand. But kudos to the waiter for juggling this with a smile. Our wheatberry salads were ok - passable but nothing special. -Inconsistencies in the check in process as well. Check in is at 4. We arrived around 1 and were told by the young woman at the desk to wait till at least 3:30 which was fine but felt odd as it seemed like there was hardly anyone else staying there. They do offer early check in for $50 which IMO is ridiculous and unwelcoming. We went for a hike and returned around 3. The now gentleman at the desk told us our room was ready. In fact he said "the text letting us know how to access our room key is our signal that the room is ready." Interesting because I received that text at 1pm. The staff is friendly for the most part though front desk staff exuded some false sincerity and it seemed like our questions were a bit of an annoyance.
