The…read moresynthetic oil change coupon for $49.97 is a scam, as they charged $92.49 then subtracted $20 for the coupon - with no explanation other than I approved a charge of $10 when I left my vehicle for their up-charge for a better oil filter. So $60 + tax is what the bill should have been. So there is about a $10 charge that they just added on. They also said my vehicle needed $1,000+ work, but when I declined and tried to print that quote, it would not print or give me details anymore. They also would not print it for me. They wanted me to approve work without letting me have a printed copy of their quote with the descriptions. When I went outside to find my car, it was no where to be seen. They had it parked about a block away! They don't have enough space to give good service. They don't want to schedule appointments but rather have you leave your car in the morning. They did offer a ride because I live close, but that doesn't make up for the frustration of not honoring the $49.97 coupon and not giving me a printed copy of the $1,000+ work they wanted me to approve and sign. My experience today was enough that I will not be going back to Journey/Kurth's Auto Repair.

This business has now been purchased by Golden Valkey Tire. I brought my personal vehicle here right after the transition, before I realized what was different. I had a fine experience and got quoted slightly above competitors for some repairs. The experience was reasonable overall, although I did feel like everyone behind the front desk was really judging me for not wanting to proceed with some repair options that I were presented to me. I came back a few weeks later with company vehicles since my employer had used this place in the past, and the vibe had deteriorated so much more. This truly is a Golden Valley Tire owned operation and it's not good. Things went wrong from the scheduling of the appointment. The person on the other end of the line was completely fumbling through the system and muttering to himself. He couldn't figure out how to get things to save even. Of course he didn't tell me that though, so when I showed up there was no appointment. I gave them the simple instruction to give the vehicle an oil change so that it would be ready to pick up later. They emailed me a full inspection report which was thorough and detailed, but guess what? They didn't do the oil change. I guess they wanted some sort of approval, but it was a busy work day and if I tell them it's the only reason for my visit I expect it to get done and the vehicle to be ready when I come to pick it up. This place is a mess right now. I hope they can find a way to improve, I understand transitions can be hard, but...proceed with caution if you're considering being a customer here.

I WAS CHARGED NEARLY $1200 FOR A BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. I picked up my car and within 2 months my battery died. I had to jump my car to get to and from anywhere! When I brought my car back, they made sure to tell me that my new battery warranty only included one new battery~ DESPITE THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY IN THE RECIPT. The front desk guy who is old and looks disheveled is a complete ass. He was trying to provide me with their complimentary uber service despite me seeing him do it for another customer. The store manager or owner even told me, "it's time for him to retire." After getting my car back from having my 2nd "new" battery from TGK, my stereo didn't work, my USB charger didn't work and the radio would not play sound. I took my car back to TGK as it had been only 2 weeks since they repaired my car for a second time. The admitted to likely blowing a fuse and then proceeded to REFUSE to fix the problem because they could cause FURTHE damage. STAY FAR FAR FR AWAY. They definitely prey on single women and those with little to no car knowledge. Now 6 months after getting the 2nd "new battery", it completely died. He was available for my questions and he charged about what I believe is typical for the industry. There was one drawback. The up-sale. They got me to buy some wiperblades, but when they offered to change out my exhaust- leaking catalytic converter for $800 to $900, lest carbon monoxide poisoning sneak into the car, I had to draw the line. I had another mechanic look at it and there were hose clamps that were not even finger tight and a cracked "Y" connector for those hoses which have everything to do with coolant. I just went to speak to them and now they say they pressure tested it and there was no air in the system . They kept switching the story what they did and didn't do. The actual mechanic said that Y piece cracked because of overheating. Well it has not overheated since before I got the radiator. They treated me as if I was stupid or lying. I'm assuming because I have breasts.. They basically were calling me a liar. Why would I take the time and energy 2 months later for a 200$ fix? If I didn't KNOW they had missed something important. They gave me so many excuses and stories and made it seem like I was trying to sw indie money from them . If you're a woman....do not deal with this shop because they'll try to get you to spend as much as.possible and they'll do a half ass job. THEY ARE NOT ABOUT THE CUSTOMER . All I wanted was for them to take responsibility for those loose hose clamps and for letting me drive out of there with a cracked 20$ part.
