Our teacher was fantastic -- informative, patient, encouraging, and always so helpful. We learned essential cooking techniques, kitchen basics, and so many delicious recipes that I'll continue making at home. The class itself was equally special because we had such a great group of students and truly enjoyed learning and cooking together each week. I will genuinely miss this class and look forward to taking more classes at LA Cooking School in the future. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their cooking skills in a fun and welcoming environment!

Five days later and no contact from Pam. I was so excited to take my mister to their Father's Day class. We're empty nesters and this was meant to be a special treat for both of us. He's not big on cooking classes but the posted menu was appealing and I promised to do all the heavy lifting. Ribeye Steak -- thought we'd learn some new techniques to elevate our steak prep game. Mexican Street Corn Dip and Homemade Tater Tots -- summer corn is a family favorite and the thought of making homemade tater tots was intriguing. Smash Burger Sliders -- wanted to learn to consistently nail that crispy exterior. Inexplicably, we were paired with another pair -- a single dad with an 8 yo kid. Neither the mister nor I wanted this but we didn't want to make a scene or hurt anyone's feelings. We didn't even realize we were paired with them until the chef pointed out that our mise en place tray was setup for four. Why?? 1. The Mexican Street Corn Dip which I think was supposed to be an appetizer, was completely omitted. However, we did make a grilled corn salad as part of the meal. There was no appetizer served when we arrived. 2. Instead of homemade tater tots we made potato wedges. 3. The team we were paired with was lovely. However the class was well beyond their skill level. So instead of taking on the bulk of the work for 2 people, I did the bulk of the prep for 4 people. The course description says there may be seasonal substitutions but these substitutions utilized the same core ingredients. This was more work than I anticipated and left me feeling a bit overwhelmed and behind schedule. This threw the timing off and my mister enjoyed his steak alone while I was still standing at a hot stove prepping food for 4 people. Not the fun afternoon of "us" time I'd envisioned. Overall this was a subpar experience in so many areas that mattered to us. Left me personally disappointed and apologizing to my mister for the poor planning and execution. Could have spent the same amount of money without the hour+ drive and had a better experience.

I've now been to both locations, and while I love the original one, this one really stands out -- it's fresh, inviting, and perfect for a hands-on tasting. After eight tastings and three desserts, trust me... you won't leave hungry. I'd totally come back, especially since the menu keeps changing.

Chef Marc was an absolute delight. The vibe was warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The class framework was thoughtful, engaging, and incredibly well-executed. What truly sets this class apart is the attention to detail. Every aspect of the experience was immaculate, from the clear directions to the venue (complete with a contact number), to the interior setup, comfortable room temperature, and beautifully presented stations. The kitchen tools were high quality, ingredients were neatly laid out with laminated table cards, and even the table settings were on point. And as someone who comes from both an operations and creative background, I have to say: Chef Marc's recipe template is hands-down the best I've seen from any chef-led class. Every detail felt intentional and appreciated, no stone left unturned. Bravo, Chef Marc! This class deserves a standing ovation.

You won't be disappointed. Rose's energy is wildly positive, and she always goes above and beyond for all of her clients. She is funny, she is engaging, and just an overall great person. Her home is the perfect venue, and it's unlike any other cooking class you'll find in LA. AS LA OPENS BACK UP: Rose and her team put together a really wonderful in-person event for my company last night. WOW. What an INCREDIBLE way to return back to in-person events!! Honestly, I can't think of a better event to bring a group together - it's such a unique and fun class. Yesterday was the perfect LA day, and all of the dining and most of the cooking is done outdoors. Her and her team adhered to all of the necessary COVID protocols, and my whole group felt incredibly safe being at her home. All of her staff is fully vaccinated, and there were masks worn and plenty of hand sanitizers. I know that I can always trust her to help me put on a great event. We will continue to work with her for many more years to come. Also, this should be a given, but her recipes are ALWAYS delicious. When we do in-person cooking classes with her, a lot of the ingredients come straight from her backyard. Rose is also very accommodating for vegans, vegetarians, and any other dietary restrictions/allergies. She knows how to make everyone feel welcomed and part of a team. BTW, her virtual classes are also a hit! My company planned a virtual class with her last year, and we loved it! She was her usual engaging self, and of course, the food was great. As I've mentioned, she is always accommodating, and willing to go above and beyond for her clients. Thank you, Rose and team!!!
