Visited Cookout while in North Carolina and ordered the double burger with chicken nuggets and hush puppies. Instead, I was given fries, but I didn't bother going back since the person who took my order came off as pretty rude. The burger was just okay--the bun felt a little stale instead of fresh and soft. The nuggets, though, were really good, and even though I didn't order fries, they turned out to be decent. I did try one of my friend's hush puppies, and those were fresh and delicious, so I wish I had gotten the right side. For the price, Cookout definitely gives you solid portions. I wasn't expecting a 5-star experience--it's fast food after all--but being polite and getting the order right should be the basics. read more

This location Cook-Out used to be my favorite takeout food restaurant my kids love going there but lately they seem like they don't care they give you burnt food and it comes with a side of attitude. The first time it happened I let it pass because I believe people do have bad days but this is my third time and the same come out. I believe they need to train there employees about customer service and why they have a job. I won't say I would not go to cookout anymore but not this location. I'll just go to the one on Ramsey Street they are a pleasure to give my money and to receive food from but this location had lost my business. My family and i just waited 25-mins to get 1 Heath Toffee milkshake and two Oreo milkshakes. What we received after we drove off were three very expensive vanilla milkshake with no toffee nor oreos. All we wanted was to enjoy a good milkshake on a Saturday afternoon. This has happened the last two times we've been to this Cook Out location. "Fool me once, shame in you...Fool me twice, shame on me." We will NEVER patronize this Cook Out location again. I go to this location regularly for the last 10 years. I have always had pleasant experiences, until this last trip 3 or 4 nights ago. As usual I ordered food for 3 people: my wife, my child, and myself. Also as usual, the order was the same as always: two Cook-Out trays, and one junior cookout tray. The problem was that on my wife's, her burger, which was ordered with bacon, cheese, and no tomato, plus other condiments, was served with tomato and no bacon. Secondly, my milkshake was the wrong flavor, and my side of nuggets which is supposed to be a count of three only had one. I called back to the store and complain to the manager Rick. Rick told me to write on the receipt his name and to come back when I wanted to get the order made right. Well today I went back but I couldn't find the receipt, but thanks be to God and to Allen... the manager on duty... who after calling to verify with Rick and unsuccessfully reaching him oh, still decided to make the orders correct answer them to me for free. This is a sign of a well-managed restaurant and caring staff. Unfortunately I'm not too good at managing money, and today I literally had only $0.60 in my bank account. Because of Allens generosity and trusting nature oh, I was able to feed my family tonight and I am very thankful for that. Very poor customer service!!! Burgers are NOT well made! I ordered an Out West Style burger, and they only put a 1/2 onion and a big pickle cut in the middle (lengthwise) on top of the burger patty!!!! That was it!! And nothing else!!! This is NOT the Out West Style burger that I was expecting. I wish there was an option for 0 stars, but I guess I have no choice.
