When this place first opened, it was solid -- fresh food, good portions, and friendly folks. But lately... mehhhh. The last few visits have been a letdown. The hot dogs were overcooked, tough, and definitely not grilled, and the okra was undercooked and cold in the middle on two separate occasions (how is that even possible??). I'm not sure what changed, but the food quality has definitely gone downhill. I might give them one more chance, but it's not looking good for what was once a really convenient and good fast food spot. read more

Even though there is usually a long line, they are great about being super quick, and getting the orders right! We love the cheeseburgers here, and the Cajun fries, onion rings, and cheese curds are our favorite sides. We tried a grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was delicious, but it didn't even take up half the bun. We love the shakes here, too! And they have the good ice for sodas! Cookout never disappoints, and the price is amazing for the amount of food you get! read more

When an establishment first opens, the food is usually impeccable. Not this place Pros: Plenty of bacon Friendly customer service, but honey that's it! Cons: Burger was dry. I refuse to believe that anyone likes dry burgers Soggy fries. read more

Do better! Went in tonight got two trays- my hamburger was burnt, I got 3 nuggets and 3 onion rings for my sides. Asked for extra topping in milkshake and got normal amount - this is why I just cook at the house ! read more

Rumor had it they finally opened, so decided to try them out. Friday night about 5:30, they were already plenty busy. Two drive-thru lanes about 10 cars deep each, but well maintained by two staffers. The lines moved pretty quickly, I was in and out (no reference to the overrated West coast burger joint), in less than 20 minutes. I opted for the BBQ plate (BBQ pork, slaw, hush puppies, and fries), gf got a cheddar burger, onion rings, and cheese bites. Naturally we swapped tastings of each others's sides. My pork was tender and flavorful (better than some other local establishments), though I did enhance with a little more sauce. Barb's burger was flavorful and perfectly cooked. All the sides were really, good, and though we joke about the small portions, it was all still plenty filling. The only couple minor critiques would be that the fries could have been cooked a bit more, and the slaw could have been creamier. I topped it off with a peanut butter and fudge shake, which was also just right. Nice to finally have them in Reidsville. We'll be back. read more

Well, I just wanted a cookout style burger.... you know it supposed to have raw onions, slaw, mustard, chili. It was missing the chili. Why? So careless. I was excited about Cookout coming to Reidsville. Eden was much better. read more

They got all our 5 orders wrong. The meat was dry but the condiments were so greasy like the onions and bacon. The fries were very salty. Def not returning. read more

Left out two of my trays. One was supposed to be only bbq sauce and the other a regular chicken sandwich with only pickles. after going back to get them I got two grilled chicken sandwiches which was wrong and the one that was only barbecue had mayonnaise pickles and barbecue sauce. Would not recommend unless you're close by and feel like making three trips read more

My fav is the bbq tray with fries and onion rings. Best bbq and onion rings in town!! Service is great, fast and friendly!! Burgers are fantastic too!! Hotdogs are good but are not all beef, which i prefer. read more

We went to Cookout today for lunch and returned home with someone's order but it certainly wasn't ours !!!! I filled out a customer comment form from their webpage because there is no phone number to call the restaurant. I received a very nice note saying they were sorry and would file my complaint. No mention of making my order right. Terrible service !!! Advice - check your order before you leave because they won't fix it after you left. Thanks Cookout ! read more
