Cruising by saw the BBQ plate sign and bee-lined in to try it out. For $7.20 I picked up a delicious pulled pork sandwich with cole-slaw and tangy BBQ sauce...bomb! The pork was juicy and plentiful, loved it. The fries while a generous helping were floppy and not crispy, but they were hot. I love coke with pebble ice and this establishment serves it up, sweet, cold and fizzy. Usually a pleasant visit to Cookout Snellville, but this visit was a bit uncharacteristic and I hope it isn't the new normal. The line was wrapped around the building (more than usual during a peak time) and it looked like some employees were finishing their shifts. We waited a good 10-15 minutes before we finally made it to the intercom (really need to upgrade this thing - too much background noise) to make our order. We ordered three cookout trays with shakes versus drinks. We had to yell and repeat our order, but we were finally able to proceed to pickup window. Once we get to the pickup window, the lady takes our payment and another proceeds to hand us the wrong shake (thank goodness they call out what it is when handing it out). Longer story short, they misheard our shake orders and made us pull to a spot at the front of the restaurant (never been through this at Cookout). Entrees range from traditional cookout items like burgers and hotdogs to non-traditional cookout items like chicken tenders and pulled pork. Sides range from your typical fries and hushpuppies to your very atypical chicken warps, quesadillas, and corndogs. For $1 more, upgrade your drink to a shake. The shakes are made to order and of very high quality. I am as clueless as the next person how Cook Out manages to sell food so cheaply but maintain reasonably good quality. The chicken tenders are hand breaded, given that their size deviates wildly. Some nights they're ridiculously big. Other nights you're still hungry after finishing your meal. I exaggerate, but they do vary almost a ridiculous amount. Still, it helps to know that the tenders are handmade. It's not all sunshine and rainbows at this Cook Out. I've been served stale chicken tenders. I've been served overcooked burgers. These times have been very few. I like Cook Out a lot, and I think this Cook Out is a fairly average store. However, I usually order the Cajun sandwich (cook out tray) that comes with two sides and a drink. I order the Cajun fries and the chicken wrap as sides and a Cheerwine float! This float is what keeps me coming back every time. I usually order it light on the ice cream, and when they get it right it's awesome! All this for $4.99!!
