I think they found their rudest employee to run the drive-thru at lunch time today. On top of that, I had to go over there 3 times just to get my order right. I spoke with the manager on my third trip, but it didn't seem like she was going to speak with this girl, Tillea. I cannot think back to many instances in my life where an employee's attitude was so bad. The last time I was here, maybe 3 months ago, whoever worked the drive-thru that day, was DELIGHTFUL. Cook Out is always going to get at least two stars out the gate because they have hush puppies. I am a little bummed that there is no where to sit at this location, it's a drive-thru or walk-up only location. We were forced to sit on the grass under a tiny tree for shade in the heat, or eat in our car... and we generally try to avoid that with kids so our car interior isn't destroyed. It's in such a nice location too, close to old town Summerville, yet no way to stop and enjoy good food and a cool drink. Perhaps if they got rid of some of the arguably useless parking spots in favor of a small eating area there would be as large of crowds as the location in North Charleston. Also, no bathrooms... However, the food was delicious and the hush puppies were perfectly cooked where sometimes they are a touch overdone. Standard Cookout fare. If you haven't had a Cookout milkshake, you are living your life wrong. I don't overly love Cookout food since it tends to be a bit greasy, but it's great hangover food and the hushpuppies aren't so bad. The WORST thing about this Cookout is that if you are trying to stop in from I-26, you have to go through Azalea Square traffic, which is a nightmare. My boyfriend took me here to get lunch on my birthday. Well he has a 21ft trailer attached to the truck so we couldn't go through the drive thru without blocking everything up. I love Cookout overall BUT this location is probably the least good of all the Cookouts I've been to (probably 20/25!) I've gotten substandard food here on multiple occasions - seriously soggy bbq sandwiches, shakes with chunked ingredients barely blended, soggy buns on burgers, limp and cold fries. I mean okay, yes, it's fast food but cookout is usually the One Up on most fast food places - this location fits in with the usual notions of fast food. My nephew was an employee at your establishment off Main Street in Summerville SC. He's 16 and had to clean the parking lot and take out trash in the rain at the beginning of his shift, so he remained in wet close ALL day. He was asked to do this once again today and told management that he would remove the trash after the storm passed. Once the storm passed, he did what he said he would do. HE WAS THEN LOCKED OUT for 20 MINUTES before he decided to just go home. This is appauling and unacceptable practice. On a good note, he no longer works for a company that does not respect him or his work ethic. This happened today, today he got a job at a high end establishment. I usually don't have problems with this location, it's the usual fast food service type of thing here. However, don't stop by this location on Sunday evenings at 9:00pm or later. Tonight I got a spicy chicken cookout tray and when I got home I bit into a chicken patty that was undercooked in the middle. Ever bit into cold chicken patty that was really chewy.
