Our dog was attacked by another dog a few years ago & that trauma left him very uneasy around other dogs...he loves people...so we have to find the right person to care for his grooming needs. Cookies Paws was the 3rd one we tried after moving to Morris County in July 2021. Today was no different than the last time...she confirmed & was here on time. Manny had no problem jumping into her grooming truck and walked out happy & excited. Manny looks great, smells great, & feels great I highly recommend her! PS she may not answer right away but work with her...she's a solo MOBILE business owner. And FYI her personality is soft & gentle which I prefer for my dog because pets feel our energy & react accordingly. Don't ever use this dog groomer, Tracy. My dog died shortly after her grooming. She was very uncaring for a dog that had some health issues that she was aware of and was not at all patient with him and he had a stroke and a heart attack within an hour after her grooming. In addition.. she gave him a terrible haircut prior to his death which was his last experience before suffocating and passing away. She got very loud with me after calling me while she was still on my driveway to find out if I like The grooming job. Don't know why she called me obviously she felt something was wrong or knew the dog was having a problem from her mishandling him. Unfortunately I picked up the phone thinking that maybe I overpaid her for underpaid her and I didn't even have a chance to look at my dog yet as my husband brought him in. I told Tracy to give me a minute to look him over and it was a terrible haircut! She cut away too much in the wrong areas. If she didn't call me out of guilt I don't really know why she called and unfortunately I brought him back out to her as she was still on my driveway to fix something in a professional manner. I wish I would have just let it be the way it was as it is only hair and it grows back and he might still be alive as he was fine that day until that point in time. She was yelling at me and making him very nervous and pointing scissors near his eyes and pulling the fur on his face while she was talking to me about what she did and didn't do. She made my dog very upset and nervous and caused the heart attack and or stroke but he died on our way to the vet. He was the love of my life and she had a very uncaring attitude all she said was,"it must have been his time". Well maybe somebody will say that to her when her children pass away or something terrible happens to her I guess it's their time! Do not use this groomer! We are trying to make people aware that she is very harmful and should not be a dog groomer as she has no love for dogs and very bad client skills. We hope she goes out of business. read more

Charges me a reasonable price considering it's a mobile service in your driveway. Very sweet to me and my dog. It's so cute that she puts bows and bandanas on my dogs after she's done. Never trust this business the woman is rude and does not communicate well what she is doing I have a cat that needed to get his claws trimmed his hair cut and a bath she refused to give him a bath because the cat was nervous like most cats are and was squirming I came out to help her hold down that cat and she agin refused to clean him. I helped her hold the cat for a trim and it came out horrible. My cat looks like a mangled ally cat instead of the pure bread majestic creature he is. She tried to take 100 dollars for her service and I got her down to 85 because she only did 2 of the 3 she was supposed to do. Had Tracey come groom my cats twice. First experience was fine, she was late but I'm ok with that because working with animals can be unpredictable. I was flexible as a customer and didn't care that she texted me at 3:22 (for a 3:30 appointment) to tell me she was running late. She arrived at 4:20. An hour late. Was I annoyed because my cats were sitting in cages for over an hour waiting for her to come on time? Uh yeah. Didn't show it. Price and cuts were good. Cats seemed fine. Now, the second time unfortunately our one cat got spooked by a noise and ran under the bed about 40 min before the appointment. I tried to get him out, no luck. I texted her right away to let her know. She texts me back and says it will be $35 for a booked appointment. I told her I'd pay it now but want the $35 to go towards a future appointment. Pretty ridiculous that you expect 40% of an appointment cost because a cat got spooked. Especially when you came to groom two, so the visit isn't useless. I gave her the other cat immediately upon arrival. Everything was fine with that. She did a good job with the cut. However, I still couldn't get the other cat out from under the bed. I asked if I was able to pay the $35 now and then put it towards a credit (felt that was fair for both parties) she replied (she texts from the grooming van) and said it will just be $85 (cost for cat that got groomed). I thanked her and said I'm happy to get another appointment on the calendar for the spooked one. I offered to pay the $35 AGAIN as long as it was credited as I can understand she has a business and expected to groom two cats. I've texted her three times since then with zero reply. This is so that she gets the business that was expectedly booked, and I felt terrible that the cat wouldn't come out. Totally unprofessional. Glad I didn't end up giving her the $35 towards a future appointment out of good faith. Now, normally I would not comment on anyone's personality etc. But there are zero pleasantries during the interactions. No smile, nothing. Moral of the story is you would think someone who wasted an HOUR of my time the first time I hired her would have a little more understanding when I gave a 40+ plus alert and offered to pay for zero work because of an animal being spooked. You work with animals, stuff happens. I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

I left multiple phone messages to try to schedule an appt for my dog. I finally sent an email - her response was that she wouldn't groom my dog (yes, he has long-ingrained issues, but she's never met him and I planned to sedate him, which she knew) and she said she'd texted me. I gave her my house phone, which would not receive texts. OK, before I even get into the experience we had at Cookie's paws in Boonton, it is my duty to let everyone know to STAY AWAY from this woman!! Dyan D's post is spot on! We brought our pet there on a Saturday and left after we were told we would receive a call shortly. An hour and a half passed, and we did not hear anything as of yet. We decided to go back and see if our pet was finished. Upon entering, the owner, whose Name is Tracey, informed us that our pet had not yet been trimmed. Upon further inspection, I realized that our pet was sitting in a cage in the back of the store, with a heat blower on him! The owner said that she gives a bath, "before" the trimming...?? What? Why would she not tell us that before doing so? Why would you wash the animal, wait for his hair to dry, trim him, then wash him again? She insisted that was the "way she does it", and it was OK. After being told everything was OK, we left again for the second time. Another hour had passed when we finally received a call from the owner, "Tracey", that our pet would not let her take him out of the cage. We headed back to the groomer, and assisted Tracy in removing our pet from the cage, which was odd in itself, due to the fact our pet is very friendly and laid back. Now, what was discovered next was unbelievable. As I put our pet on her grooming table, it appeared as though his fur had been trimmed already. I asked if that was the case, and Tracy said that she gave him a "pre-cut"! Pre-cut?? I immediately asked, "I thought you gave him a bath first, and didn't trim him yet"? She had no reply to my question. Then, upon further inspection, our pet appeared to have blood on his back paw! I asked, "what happened to his paw, why is it bleeding"? Her reply was, "he was jumping". What?? It finally appeared to me that she started to trim our pets fur, cut his paw while doing so, and tried to cover it up with a "pre-bath". The most appalling thing was that she did not even mention that our pet had been injured! She wasn't even going to mention it to us. We proceeded to leave the groomer, and went to an emergency VET hospital shortly after. Our pet needed a tetanus shot, paw wrapping, and needed to be given anti-biotic for a week, as well as wear a cone for a week! This lady is very unprofessional, is very mean, and rude to top it off. She apparently does not know what she is doing, and she has the worst attitude for a person around animals that I have ever met. Our pet has been groomed hundreds of time by other groomers, and never had a problem until bringing him to Cookies Paws in Boonton. This was a very disturbing and scary experience to say the least. Very bad and scary experience. Dropped my dog off and after 11/2 hrs got a call from her screaming at me that my dog urinated on herself while she was combing her out. She probably was hurting her and that was the only response my dog could give. She continued to scream that she is going to charge me again to wash my dog because she has to pay for shampoo. My dog is small and is 6 yrs old, she has been groomed all of her life and no one has ever called me to say my dog urinated while being combed out. i have always had positive feed back. I picked my dog up promptly and found her cowering when this lady brought her to me. In my opinion she is a very mean and rude person who should not work with animals. I do not recommend this place and will never bring my dog back again. My dog was super happy to see me. i went there because it was 5 minutes from my house. Never again! read more

Reading the comments at the bottom i had to download yelp for the woman that owns this shop. So far i have been there three times, i'm currently waiting for my dog to be done now, she seems to be the NICEST woman i have taken my dog to by far. Perviously we were spending insane prices for my cockapoo to get her haircut, Traceys prices are perfect compared to everyone else and when it comes to waiting a little longer for my dog i can understand this since its a ONE person shop from the looks of it. Regardless my dog has always looked awesome, smelt awesome, and because and this i use her haircut time as my errands time. Don't take your pet here!!! The place is very dirty. There was dried blood spattered on the walls. I watched the groomer switch from trimming one dog's hair to another without even wiping the fur off of the table. My dog's haircut was very uneven, and her nipple was bleeding.
