I returned at 5: 00, she needed more time. I can back at 6 ( closing) my pet was not ready. I came back at 7:30 and pet was finally finished. 10-7:30 was absolutely too long for a senior dog.- any dog. Owner said dog needed 5 baths which is not true. She assumed my pet was not bathed for 5 months. She is disorganized- I pulled the calendar and showed her my pet was bathed every 30 days. She was shocked at my records.. The last visit w her was January. - owner did not have record. Her record keeping is not up to par. I personally groomed in February. We are in March. My pet is an inside pet and mall walker- one wash and condition is all that is ever needed. She would always compliment me on my pets coat. I always get compliments on my pets coat. My dog is 14 years old. I KNOW MY PETS NEEDS. Owner just kept saying she had a bad day. I gather she had a bad day but don't blame my pet. Owner overbooked. I noticed 2 -100 pound long haired dogs. I noticed a total of 7 dogs were picked up in the small wait time. Owner was overwhelmed, erratic, emotional, and disorganized. My pet was sad and took a few days to recover from the groom. Just looking at the px in gram. The pups look sad in the eyes. Tongue hanging out was not a smile- they are thirsty. Pet Parents--. Heads up. Lana/ Silky Pups- what happened? Get it together. Cookies Paws was the 3rd one we tried after moving to Morris County in July 2021. Today was no different than the last time...she confirmed & was here on time. Manny had no problem jumping into her grooming truck and walked out happy & excited. Manny looks great, smells great, & feels great I highly recommend her! PS she may not answer right away but work with her...she's a solo MOBILE business owner. And FYI her personality is soft & gentle which I prefer for my dog because pets feel our energy & react accordingly. She was very uncaring for a dog that had some health issues that she was aware of and was not at all patient with him and he had a stroke and a heart attack within an hour after her grooming. In addition.. she gave him a terrible haircut prior to his death which was his last experience before suffocating and passing away. She got very loud with me after calling me while she was still on my driveway to find out if I like The grooming job. Don't know why she called me obviously she felt something was wrong or knew the dog was having a problem from her mishandling him. Unfortunately I picked up the phone thinking that maybe I overpaid her for underpaid her and I didn't even have a chance to look at my dog yet as my husband brought him in. I told Tracy to give me a minute to look him over and it was a terrible haircut! She cut away too much in the wrong areas. If she didn't call me out of guilt I don't really know why she called and unfortunately I brought him back out to her as she was still on my driveway to fix something in a professional manner. I wish I would have just let it be the way it was as it is only hair and it grows back and he might still be alive as he was fine that day until that point in time. She was yelling at me and making him very nervous and pointing scissors near his eyes and pulling the fur on his face while she was talking to me about what she did and didn't do. She made my dog very upset and nervous and caused the heart attack and or stroke but he died on our way to the vet. He was the love of my life and she had a very uncaring attitude all she said was,"it must have been his time". Well maybe somebody will say that to her when her children pass away or something terrible happens to her I guess it's their time! Do not use this groomer! I took my chances with You Lucky Dog and they were able to accommodate Benji (6 month old Cockapoo) for a Full Spa Package. I received a text message the day before that they had to switch the time from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. The place shares space with a Vet company. They are cage free. Gina greeted my sister & I when we dropped Benji off. She made me feel comfortable leaving him. We briefly reviewed what he was getting done and we were told to expect to get him in about 2.5 hrs. They charged my sister by phone to limit contact. She was able to add tip as well. My sister was a bit surprised that the total with tip was $93 as the website has the full package starting at $65.00. It is pricier than the other places we had in mind. Overall (4.5 stars), we were happy with Benji's look and cleanliness (just look at the picture!). We have plans on checking one other place before deciding which will be Benji's go to groomer.

Shortish version Our…read moredog was nicked during a sanitary trim, and was was bleeding a little when we wiped the area where she was nicked. She has razor burn so severe that we had to put a cone on her to prevent her from constantly licking herself. What became very worrying was that she has not eaten much, drank very little, and has not peeped or pooped, and just lies there at home for the past 24 hours, refusing to move. We tried speaking to the manager, Daniel, when we bumped into him at the vet, and he said "1 sec" and never got back to us. Eli (business owner) followed up while our dog was getting a x-ray to explain to us that they didn't do anything wrong and that they are not liable to pay for our dog's care, even though we never indicated in any way that we wanted them to. No matter what, a dog who has never had any issues with grooming, should not be in this state after a sanitary trim. And no mater what, someone should have communicated to us what had happened. After what has occurred and the way the whole situation was handled, we no longer feel safe or OK leaving our dog here. Longer version with more details below. ---- I am as level headed as they come. Feel free to look at my profile, all my reviews are only 4 and 5s (And have been leaving reviews on Yelp for over a decade), and don't believe in leaving negative reviews, as I don't like the idea of negatively affecting someone's business. I've decided to break my rule, because there are some clear issues with Dog and Bone's grooming services. Our dog gets monthly grooming, and has never had a single issue. We decided to give this D&G a try rather than our usual spot, because our initial first impression was so positive, and wanted to give them more business. But after leaving our usual instructions that we've given to every other groomer, when we received our dog, she could not stop licking her vulva. We would walk a few steps and she would start licking herself. Until finally she refused to walk anymore and I had to carry her the rest of the way home. At first I thought she was just not comfortable with the sanitary trim (which also has never happened before), but when I got home and wiped her down in that area there was BLOOD. My belief is that she was nicked and has red bumps, which looks like razor burn. I am unsure, because no one has bothered to communicate to us that anything happened. It was terrifying not knowing what had happened and needing to guess. Not only did the groomer not follow our directions, but our dog was hurt, and still not herself. Following our arrival home, for 24 hours she has refused to eat, drink much water, and keeps on trying to nip/lick herself, and refuses to move. We sent Daniel two emails documenting everything with pictures, videos, etc. We took our dog to an Instavet next door (same owner) and she continued to not eat or poop, and bumped into Daniel when we tried to speak to him he told said us 1 minute and never bothered to return. While our dog was getting an x-ray Eli (business owner) called us and awkwardly tried to suggest that the issue did not occur at day care or grooming, and was trying absolve himself of any wrong doing, which we did not understand, until he got to his point about not being obligated to pay for our dog's vet bill. We are deeply worried about our pet's well being, and to call us while our dog is at his vet to try and absolve themselves of any wrong doing made us so angry, due to his cold and uncaring tone. Holy crap, I could not believe what I was hearing. All we carried about was the well being of our dog, and the call just made us feel worse. We have sent our dog to dog and bone club multiple times a week for the past month. They have completely lost our trust. Accident can happen, I can be understanding of that. But the severity, not communicating, trying to tell us that they're not liable to pay for our dog's vet bill, when we made no indication that we wanted them to pay in any shape or form, is not acceptable. Collectively, my wife and I have spent 13 hours at the two vets this weekend, and nearly ~$800 dollars thus far in trying to diagnose and address an issue that happened on their watch, on top of a $50 sanitary trim. Stay away, don't risk it. There are plenty of other places to go to in LIC. I will leave things off with a positive in that Sarah at the front desk is kind and super nice.

However, after a few interactions with a certain employee at this groomer's, I have to leave a complaint. I believe this employee was hired around summer time when I first brought my dog in for a haircut. They have a round face and curly black hair. Initially, I figured they were in training so I didn't say anything about the person not being knowledgeable when I asked certain questions. However, I recently went to have my dog groomed for the second time and this person was very rude to me over the phone and in person. I called the groomer's to check in on Ellie during her service which was from 9:30-12:30. I was told I'd receive a call about 12:15 or so. I didn't so I called them myself. This person picked up the phone and I asked if they could give me a rough estimate of when my dog would be finished. She said, "We can't give you an estimate. She just got on the table." I was polite and said, "Ok, no worries. Thank you" Click. She hung up without saying anything else. Prior to coming, I asked her about anal gland expression to which she said, "It's when we express their anal glands". I said, "Yes, I understand that but can you please tell me more" the other woman who was older in purple and had more experience had to step in and explain to me. This woman has always been very friendly. This afternoon, I brought in the tip for the services provided yesterday since I forgot to give it to the groomer yesterday. Upon walking in, I said, "Hi, I'm so sorry but I forgot to tip yesterday. I wanted to make sure you got your money!" The girl with curly hair said, "Ok" and turned her back on me. The older woman in the back mouthed "Thank you!" which I appreciated. I'm not one to leave a bad review for a wonderful business but I was offended by this employee's demeanor. Not friendly whatsoever. Very off putting. I am considering going elsewhere, but B & B really is an amazing spot.

Didn't cut hair in between paws and toes and although I said she was a poodle, the top and face was not cut this way the first time. Second time the poodle top was not cut away from the face so when it grew back it was all in her eyes and I had to cut back myself. The thing that bothered me most was the constant changes in price without consulting the customer first. I also didn't like the cash only requirement. Not even Zelle or Venmo. Making it hard when prices are changed and you're not told ahead of time. Unfortunately still looking for our groomer.
