Very poor customer service. Went in asking if they had a specific "pest deterring" plant, was met with disregard. When the young lady worker walked in I tried asking her my question, she clearly saw me trying to talk to her but brushed me off/ignored me and instead went out to meet a food delivery driver for her milkshakes or sodas. She then went and helped two other people before allowing me to ask my question, even then I was met with a dismissive attitude. Young lady told me "we don't have those this time of year" as if I should have known that. I have never had plants before. Didn't even recommend anything similar to what I was looking for so I left and I won't be coming back. read more

I just recently discovered Cook's Nursery and absolutely love it! The ladies I spoke to were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. And I wasn't even aware of the adorable gift shop until I went to check out...it's definitely a must see to go inside! (I was disappointed that their Facebook isn't well kept and and is kinda lame and cheesy, but I guess older people like that.) read more

I went in looking for specialty soil and fertilizer, and with questions about a bug identification/eradication issue. I walked out without anything, but very confident that I could fix my issues myself! They explained how to adjust my current soil to allow my succulents to drain better (a $2.50 fix instead of bags of specialty soil), my existing fertilizer will work fine for what I have, AND how to fix my bug issue. They didn't sell me a bunch of unnecessary things I didn't need, or plants that are more maintenance than I can handle. As a woman on a budget, I appreciate that SO MUCH! But while exploring I did notice an excellent variety of pest control options, specialty fertilizers, and nothing but healthy happy plants for sale. If you're looking for knowledgable staff, healthy plants, or ANYTHING you might want/need to keep your garden happy this should be your FIRST stop. Cooks is a beneficial resource for the home owner and my go to source for landscaping related products, and knowledgeable advice. Over the years Ive wasted money buying plants that were not compatible with the conditions of my yard or that was susceptible to diseases. Experience has taught me that we cant buy robust plants and get valid advice at the big box stores. Compare the potting soil/composts and you will be surprised at the difference in your plant's vitality. I find it's cost effective to buy from those who specialize in matters that contribute to my property value. read more

DAVID!! David - David - David is an angel! I called from out of state twice in the last 6 weeks for, sadly, 2 different funerals & David was so helpful & patient. He sent me texts with different plant options, stayed within my budget, had them delivered ahead of time, kept in touch with me throughout the entire process & was as kind to me as if I was standing right in front of him. Because I've been burned a couple of times by sending flower arrangements out of state from big florists companies online (you probably know the ones), I've decided to always shop locally from wherever I'm sending them. My aunt lives nearby Cook's Nursery & highly recommended them when I called her for suggestions. Cook's/David came through for me when I really needed it - both times!! I will be calling them Every time I both need & want to send something local - I have a big family so this could be fun!
