This place rocked it!! I am in Colorado on a multi state road trip with my wife. We were in town to go to the Coors brewery. As you know driving across the I-70 is rough on cars. It knocked a piece of plastic loose under my car. I was unable to get underneath my car to correct this problem myself. I called this place prior to my tour at the Coors brewery. They told me that they are open for appointments. I explained my situation and without hesitation they told me that when I get done with the tour that I can bring my car there. As three young girls on a roadtrip through the mountains, your car randomly braking down is usually worst case scenario - but we could not have gotten luckier that this happened so close to this shop! Bob, the owner, was so incredibly sweet to us and squeezed us in on a day that they were already fully booked when other shops turned us down for the same reason. He was able to diagnose and fix our car within an hour and took the time to walk us through exactly what happened and what to do if the car ever does the same thing. He didn't even charge us for anything! Seriously, our guardian angel! Can't recommend this shop enough. read more

Brought my 2006 Honda Odyssey Minivan for a power steering leak. 1. Found the leak, an O-Ring between the pump and the line was leaking. 2. Couldn't find the proper O-Ring so they said they "put a better one in!" it was for air conditioning systems. 3. Decided to "buff your headlights!", without asking. I was really disappointed because I had gone through a whole buffing process and put two coats of clearcoat on them so they would last a long time. I found lots of scratches in the clearcoat and a place where it had worn through, I think they used a solvent on them, but I don't know for sure. I was very disappointed. 4. Checked the power steering fluid, it was filled perfectly. 5. Drove home, checked it again. The fluid was almost empty. They had not purged the system and so there was air in the rack, when the air bubbles came out, the fluid went way down. It should have been cycled in the rack and it wasn't. 6. Refilled the power steering fluid. 7. Over the next week, the system leaked worse than before. 8. I decided to buy a genuine Honda O-Ring and when I put it in, there was a lot more friction on the line. 9. The leak is fixed. Repair was done incorrectly, wrong part caused bad leaking, did not purge the system of air so fluid was very low and could have damaged the pump. The headlights were buffed and now I have to clearcoat them again. From start to finish, this was a messed up repair. I didn't go back or demand my money. I really don't want to see them again. A real bummer. Your mileage may vary. This could have been a very unusual event but it's an easy repair and it should have been completed properly. The owner of this company took advantage of my disabled senior citizen mother. He has done nothing but play hide-and-seek and still has my mother's car in his shop. He is not reliable, nor honest. I am very upset about the disrespect after hanging up on my sister when she tried to call to get a status update and a couple hours has turned into 6 days - and still counting - no estimated date of repair. This is just shameful! I would not recommend this repair shop to anyone - especially the elderly or disabled who are on a fixed budget. So much for integrity in our "mom and pop shops" - this man making a bad name of honorable business owners working hard to "do the right thing" for their communities. read more

I worked with these guys for 6 months to get my A/C working. Overall, these guys are very disorganized and it seems they're in over their heads, taking way too many cars in at a time. First, they replaced the A/C seals unnecessarily, then they replaced the condenser (also unnecessary). When that didn't work, I got a 2nd condenser installed and that didn't work either. After driving there to drop my car off for a scheduled appointment, they asked me to "come back a few days" TWICE. I had a ride there waiting for me! I had already arranged rides to school for my kids! Of the 6 trips I've made there, I've only left my car there 3X and spent a ton of money. I spoke with the owner after all this and he promised to get back to me first thing on Monday to "make it right" which was 3 weeks ago. I still haven't heard from him, so I took it into another shop and they replaced a $200 valve and fixed it. Huge waste of time, HUGE waste of money. VERY poor communication- I always had to call them to find out what was going on with my car and when it would be done- they don't call you. This place is a poorly run money pit. read more

Took my1986 Ford econaline van in for an alternator and belt then it suppossidly truned out to have more wrong with it then and it's been sitting there for almost 3 years now and not getting any work done to it ​and Everytime I call about and want the damn thing back even by a certain time and day and I'm told call back and I'm working on it but nothing is being done I want my van back and done if Kenny was still there I know I would have had it fixed and done the same day I'm also never bringing any of my vehicles back here almost 3 years is rediculous and I'm about to report it stolen I want it done fixed and back in a week if I didn't have to give a star cause I think it deserves no star read more

I took my car in to have the air conditioning fixed. I accidentally had the wrong day down for my appointment, so I was a day late. Bob was so gracious and kind and patient. He got my car right in, in spite of my mixup. It was done a couple hours later. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the fast service (in spite of my error)! This place lied to me and charged me $1000 essentially for an oil change. After my truck lost most of its power, they told me they couldn't get it in because it'd take too much space on their bay, then changed their mind, then kept on their loading bay for a week while ignoring my vehicle to work on others. This was when I had to run and bike 15 miles to get to work. They then changed a meaningless solenoid and changed the oil. Truck was finally fixed by someone else - simply a loose spark plug. Don't know if they thought I had more money that I did, or just saw I wasn't a car expert and could cheat me. Never coming here again, and hoping to let everyone know read more

I really hesitated leaving this review as I try to support businesses in Golden and understand things come up....but I just can't skip over this while completing some of my reviews from this year. I was swore at and given the run around by Kenny. It was an extremely unpleasant and unprofessional experience and he ended up screwing up a light in my dash that had to be fixed by someone else! Would not and do not recommend. I was originally recommended here to fix a wheel baring by another trusted automotive repair shop nearby who couldnt help with this job. I was told this could take a while but wasn't in dire need to fix; I could still make my upcoming trip without fixing it. Being in the midst of some major life changing events, I called to find out if the car could be fixed between Monday - Friday the following week. I MUST have the car by Friday and will wait to have the job done if it didn't work out. He said it most likely wouldn't be a problem, stop in Tuesday and he will look at it before he does any repairs. Great! Dropped it by, he was very kind and I was on my way. Got a phone call that afternoon with a rough estimate and was assured very confidently that this would be done Wednesday morning, maybe afternoon. "No problem, easy fix," he tells me Awesome, right? Wednesday came and I didn't hear from him. I called before closing and he said it would have to be Thursday. I reminded him i really needed the car, and was assured Thursday would be no problem. Okay, that stinks since he said I would have my car back, but no big deal. Then, he calls me Thursday to say it's now going to be the following week and the price of repair has more than doubled! I explained this was ridiculous and had made it very clear I needed my car back-put it back together if you have to and I'll take my business elsewhere. I get that was quite unrealistic but I was pretty upset!! Now the unprofessionalism really comes through. I am still in dismay how I was treated- a paying customer! First he asks me how long my upcoming trip had been planned for, and that it was my fault bringing the car to him in this timing. He so rudely explained "You've known about the trip for how long, and the car needs to be fixed and now is on my a$$" REALLY? Real professional. It gets worse. "Wait a minute lady, you think I want your car here on my lot? I've got a dozen cars lined up waiting now because of yours." What a jerk. He ended up getting the car put back together by Friday late afternoon, which only delayed our trip a couple hours. But my ABS censor light was on because he bought the wrong part for it he explained. He assured me he would get it fixed after my trip free of charge. Well, I waited and received no call. Finally called him and left a message; nothing. Called again probably 3 weeks later by now and left another message. He finally returned it saying he would order the part and get me the total. Yeah right dude. I had enough at this point and ended up getting the issue with the censor light fixed elsewhere. Kenny wasn't about to receive another dime from me. Not only was his demeanor rude but as a shop owner he should have been honest about the timing of this repair. I completely understand things come up, I do, but it's his job to fix my car and be up front about the timing. It's my job to call around and find a decent place to fix my car, and when I did my job he said he would have it within the week "no problem." I shouldn't have been blamed for his other repairs being backed up, how ridiculous! Certainly shouldn't have been sworn at. He had no idea what was going on in my life and how much inconvenience he caused when he kept delaying the day on me. People plan around getting their vehicle back and I was no different!! Wish I didn't have to leave a crummy review but he kinda dug his own grave with this one. I've never been treated so poorly as a paying customer! While traveling this summer we started having brake problems on our Dodge 2500 PU. While in Golden for a week stay we stopped by Cool Breeze to talk about repair work, it was late Friday so Bob made an appointment for first thing Monday morning. After taking it in on Monday at 9AM he called about 2 hours later and explained the repairs needed, nothing major and he felt he could have it ready the next morning. By mid morning the next day he called saying the truck was ready, and well below the expected cost. Bob is an excellent communicator and very customer oriented. kenny is a stand up guy and will always let you know all of your options, even if they don't make him money. i have brought my last two cars here (both clunkers) and he has always let me know what really needed to be done and what could wait or wasn't vital. recently, my car needed more fixes than it's worth so instead of taking my money he advised me that it might not be worth it to spend it on a 14 year old car. he's definitely a person you can trust not to swindle you or talk you into repairs you don't need. golden is a bit of a drive from denver, but it's worth it in my opinion. read more
