This rating is based on experience with a Subaru vehicle. I'd recommend going to a Subaru specialist instead of here. The repairs got done, but the experience was disappointing. I paid an unnecessary amount of money and time without a car for this shop to do repairs. To their credit, they did waive some costs after I repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction. Tldr: Took a gamble on a close convenience and lost. I took in my car when I heard my clutch's slave cylinder berring snap, also asked them to look into a noise that I'd been hearing for a month or so that we couldn't quite track. I knew it was going to be expensive, probably more than the car was worth, because their shop is in Wheat Ridge's "walking mall" and theres 3 receptionists for 2 bays. But they were nice enough last year when I needed someone with a lift to tell me where the hole in my exhaust was, and I can walk to them. The inspection charge they sent me was in a document to approve and everything after was read to me over the phone, weird red flag but I don't care enough to question. They get the job done within the time frame given and the owner test drove it, the noise was still there, the clutch felt stiff/weird, and the prices were $20+ off from what was read to me. Maybe they forgot some taxes, and the clutch just needed to be broken in like new break rotors? I gave it a few miles and my AC compressor finished freezing up and took the serpentine belt with it, found the noise at least. Got the car drivable and took it to a new place to figure out what was wrong with the new clutch system only to find that there's a new self tapping screw in my firewall so everything is misaligned making the clutch pedal sensor throw a code and the transmission not fully disengage. While trying to figure out where to get my firewall damage fixed quality automotive calls back to ask how my car is driving, I explain, and she asks if I want the owner to call me back, I say sure but he won't fix most of the problems, she assures me that the clutch pedal sensor is probably part of what they worked on. Surprising no one the owner did not call me back, I called them a week later. Shouldn't have gone back but wasnt sure where to find a bodyshop to work on the firewall and they messed up the clutch install so was hoping it would get fixed quickly, cause a month had gone by and I missed my car. We turn it in and ask about the screw they put in the firewall, curious what excuse we would get. A few hours later I get the call back that they found the reason why the clutch was misaligned, my firewall is cracked and flexing now! It'll be a day or so to fix, but they don't know anything about the silicone that the mechanic did to the firewall. I also don't know what she is talking about sense ​we asked about a screw and a hose clamp in the firewall, she had to call me back cause the mechanic went to lunch. A few hours later she does actually call me back to tell me that the screw was to align the clutch slave cylinder. I am now passed annoyed to angry. This time my car comes back with a bill that ranged between $500-800 because they had to outsource. And the owner tells me that he is worried that my car is an older Chevy in terrible condition. A comment I'm sure is trustworthy considering how the car came back the first time. I get in the car and the clutch petal position sensor code is still triggering a check engine light. Meaning the clutch is STILL MISSALIGNED!! My own fault in the end for not looking at yelp reviews, not just Google. Looking forward to the next booby trap they put in my car to make me come back. read more

I had a great experience with this shop. My car tells me what it needs - Honda codes - and I felt that the staff focused on, and took care of my immediate needs without making me feel pressured to consider fixing a whole lot of other things that probably aren't necessary. That's not to say they were negligent in any way I just felt good about getting some work done without a huge bill of other things being added on. Being a young woman I have felt taken advantage of by some shops and left to double check with friends who work on cars for a second opinion. The only mishap was that I was charged for a rear wiper blade that didn't end up getting replaced at the time of my appointment. I probably never would have noticed TBH or it would have taken a long time - and a day or two later the young man at the front gave me a call telling me to drop by whenever I could make it so he could get that taken care of. Obviously mistakes happen to us all but I appreciated the attention to detail that he actually caught it and made sure to remedy it so that's still 5 star service in my book. I also feel that my quote was an honest reflection of the work - Thank you to Tom the Owner who was the first person I spoke with on the phone who got me scheduled quickly and efficiently. Originally took my car in for several issues and they fixed some but they tried telling me my transfer case was maybe bad and that the plug was warped which is was and that the fluid was dark, which it wasn't according to the second opinion. Without offering other options I was quoted $3000.00 to replace the transfer case. After taking it to another mechanic they drilled the plug out and inspected the case and replaced the seals. T-Case is no longer leaking and works fine. I asked Quality to fix my cracked reservoir but its bone dry like before. So I'm confused about what I paid for on that one. Be honest and good customers will come. Dishonesty will drive people away. read more

I've come to Denver's Quality Automotive for a few years now for a variety of issues, from minor to more serious (A/C repair, brake pads). I know nothing about cars but for the most part feel pretty trusting and that I'll get a fair and honest assessment/price. Today's pickup was a little subpar - I felt a little rushed during pickup. Shame on me for not checking their specials on their website earlier, but I asked the person who rang me up if there's any applicable specials running. Not until a few minutes later when I got in the car did I see a 5% off coupon - wish I saw it earlier! Also, a courtesy 26 point vehicle inspection was performed and those results weren't gone over with me during checkout. My tires are in the yellow for "May require future inspection" and my serpentine belt is in "requires immediate attention" and this wasn't brought to my attention - no idea if this is dangerous or not! Experience today didn't meet the usual great service I experience here. read more

I've been taking my vehicle to Denver's Quality Automotive for years now, and recently I've really felt the quality decrease. First, I took my car there for struts in late 2019. About 16 months later, I heard consistent creaking when I would drive over even the smallest bump - such as going into the driveway. Come to find one shock was leaking, and about 4 months after that the other side leaked too. Unfortunately the second strut started acting up after the 2 year warranty (mileage warranty was not met - I don't drive much). They said they'd give me a deal because I was out of the warranty period, but still needed to pay for the expensive work that I had JUST paid for about 26 months prior. Fast forward to 2021 I had new brakes put on. Less than 20k miles after that, they're heavily warped and squeaking. Asked for a visual inspection in June, the shop said the brakes were fine. Went in for an oil change in September, and that's just after the 2 year warranty expired (again the mileage warranty was not met) but they again said they'd "help me out" and give me a discount on all new brakes. Icing on the cake was they charged me $50 for a tail light when in reality they fixed a license plate light, which should have only been $25. They couldn't refund me unless I went back in with my card. I won't be returning. read more

I've been going here for years recently after getting my breaks replaced the transmission of my car went out after driving 15 miles away from their shop. I came in to talk about how this could have happened. I talked to Logan and when describing how I drove down the street and thought something might have been wrong. He smiled and looked me straight in the eyes and said "sounds good". I've never felt so dismissed and never thought I would be faced such rudeness from a trusted mechanic shop. I may have to replace my whole transmission and when asking how they let a test driven car off of their lot with a critical transmission error the best explanation they have is "sounds good". There are some really nice guys working at this shop. My frustration is due to the lack of finishing up what they started and the time frames they quote. I needed to have a trunk door motor replaced on my SUV which didn't work (when you press a button on the keys, it opens or closes the trunk). They replaced it a few months ago, but didn't put the panel back on properly. I didn't notice immediately as I don't spend much time in my trunk. They worked on it today. Didn't finish. Some clip got broken, now the panel has to be replaced. But here's the worst part. When you tell a customer that the service will take 45 min to 1 hour, you cannot expect a person to be ok waiting for over 3! Just quote 3 hours to start with and then over-deliver by having it done in 1 hour. Also, if you get a phone call to check on the status of the car, do not quote 15 minutes to finish if it will take another hour or more. The guys who worked on my car were very nice and polite and tried to help. The front office guy was helpful as well. Even went so far as to adjust a misquoted price. But the lack of communication between the people who work here ended up causing me to lose several additional hours which I did not have arranged for. And now, I will need to go back again for however long to get the panel. read more

I can't and won't stop raving about Quality! I brought my Honda Civic in for an oil change and brake inspection (knowing that there were issues with my brakes). Devon and his co-workers were very sweet (and funny!), honest, and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. I ended up needing new brakes and a few things done with an oil leak, and Devon was able to work with me with pricing and the timing of having my car back. I've never brought my car into a place before where they are up front, yet don't pressure you into things (especially being a human that doesn't know much about cars) before, and it was super refreshing and reassuring. Stay away!! These guys are a fraud. Took my car in for a bad alternator. They told me the starter was bad too, which has never given me any problem. They quoted me $950. So i told them to go ahead and do the work, but i also told them to save the old starter for me so i could check it out. Low and behold, they said they bench tested the starter and it was just fine. If i hadnt told them to save the starter for me, i have no doubt that they would have left the old, perfectly good, starter in there and charged me $950. I called in the morning to ask if they had any availability for an oil change. Denver's Quality Automotive managed to fit me in their schedule that morning even though they usually require more advanced notice. During their routine inspection, they found that my alignment was off and my tires needed to be replaced according to state standards because of the tread. I don't know how the last garage I went to did not pick up on this. Denver's Quality Automotive gave me a quick quote, explained why their prices were very fair as compared to competitors, and had everything done (even with their already packed schedule) in less than 24 hours. They even gave me a ride home after I found out all of this would take longer than expected! Amazing experience - definitely 5/5! read more

Unfortunately, this business just moved its operations to the end of my street. One snowy day, I was walking down the street with my dog minding my own business when one of the employees came out to bark at my dog and I. Their staff hadn't cleared the sidewalks of the snow and so when I cut through the parking lot to make my way to the street I live on (which has no sidewalks) some mean lady couldn't help herself; she bolted out of one of the cars they were repairing to reprimand me and my 13 lb. dog that were just minding our own business. These are the same people that test the cars they are repairing up and down my street all day long, but cannot find it in their heart to speak to their neighbors with a modicum of respect. Don't let the 4.7 stars here fool you like they did for me! See some of the other 1-star reviews if you don't want a sugar-coated false reality of this place. Prior to my first visit (I live nearby), I talked with their owner Tom over the phone. He was a nice guy and I mentioned that the repair was time sensitive, and I gave them all the codes and symptoms for why my check engine light was on. He mentioned he too has a Jeep Wrangler and told me he'd seen this same problem pop up w/ Jeeps from time to time and they'd have no problem getting my car back in working order by Friday for a family trip I had planned to Steamboat Springs if that was in fact the issue. I drop my car off at 4pm on a Tuesday...Wednesday goes by, no call. Thursday goes by, no call. Friday morning...I finally just call them. They still haven't completed the simple $100 diagnostic to figure out why my check engine light is on. My car only has 42k miles on it, it's not a beater or a discontinued model or anything. After apparently 3 hrs of working on my car w/out calling or updating me once, they came to an uncertain conclusion that replacing my cam shaft position sensor "might" take care of the issue, something I discovered on my own in 15 min reading a Jeep forum online. They tell me they're "fairly certain" they can get my check engine light off by replacing both cam shaft position sensors, which they quoted me $750 for. The week before, Pep Boys diagnosed this same issue while I was in for an oil change and quoted me just $480 for the same job, almost half the price. Quality Auto Care's response to this was, "well, they must pay their guys a lot less or something." I was not going to pay $750 for something they "think" might resolve the issue after leaving my car with them for 3 days just to be in the same spot I was in before dropping my car off with them. On top of all this, they still wanted to charge me $100 for the diagnostic test...isn't the point of a diagnostic to get a diagnosis? They couldn;t confidently tell me what the issue was and were recommending surgery for what could just be a bruise w/ no assurance that they'd credit me for the repair if it didn't end up resolving the issue. I picked up my car and they agreed to waive any charges and let me walk from this poor experience in which they honestly made me feel like I was being an unreasonable customer throughout this process. 3 wasted days without my car, no new conclusion or information. The communication of this place is nothing short of horrendous with zero updates along the way, not even a single phone call. Their lack of confidence with their diagnosis makes me question their skills over there, and the sign out front "hiring experienced technicians" may be evidence to their current shortage. Top top it all off, when I came to pick up the car, they sent me home with the technician notes and work order for somebody else's Dodge Journey, not my Jeep. I'm sure that customer will get my notes and be disappointed as well. What a terrible first impression. I'll be posting this on Yelp/FB/BBB to help others avoid falling into this same trap of quickly glancing over only the positive reviews on Google. Avoid at all costs read more

My car broke down on the side of the road last Monday morning and this was one of the shops that AAA recommended. I had my car towed there. I received a call when the shop opened saying that they received my car and they will look at it as soon as they take care of their scheduled appointments for the day. 45 minutes later I received a call telling me what was wrong with my car, I needed a new clutch. Classic scam on a young female story... came back for a pre-road trip inspection thinking there wouldn't be anything wrong since my reliable mechanic had just looked at it a few months prior. They come back to tell me that my car needs FOUR THOUSAND dollars worth of work on it. I bring it back to my trusted mechanic who could not find ONE thing on their extensive list wrong with my. Frustrated, I call them to see what the deal was. The man (Stacey?)on the other end gets defensive and second guesses my second opinion. Proceeds to try to explain it by just saying he trusts his mechanic. I went through that list with my guy and saw with my own eyes that literally none of those claims was true. Like that my oil tank was leaking when really I just spilled a little when pouring or that my serpentine belt was cracked and couldn't see any damage. When I called I got no sort of reassuring explanation or apology for terrifying me that my car wouldn't make the 2,000-mile road trip. I felt like I was being cheated and taken advantage of for being a seeming nieve girl that wouldn't investigate. They lost a potential long-term customer. Had the guy on the phone being more willing to hear me out, not be defensive as a first response, or offer an apology I would be feeling a little different. I had driven up to Lafayette to see a friend, next morning my car wasn't starting. I got my car towed here on short notice, no appointment. I told them it was the starter, and they did a diagnostic. They confirmed it was the starter but also found that the serp belt was severely cracked. Later I find out my car has a tracker on it (that was put on without my knowledge), but they went through and did a check for me. They also said that if I find another one that they would take it off for me without charge. They have been nothing but amazing. They are gonna be my new long term mechanic read more

I really appreciate the service i had done recently. Our Highlander just wasn't the same after running over a mounted tire on the highway. After another shop replaced the damaged exhaust system, we were still hearing noises. The mechanic was great and found a damaged part that was previously overlooked. Then we had to deal with my insurance company for a supplement payout. Tom was patient throughout while my insurance company was dropping the ball. I feel that the staff did a great job communicating status of repair and determined to get to the bottom of my issue. Then they followed up a few days after to make sure i was all set.
