As the Maid of Honor, I was in charge of plans for the weekend and I wanted to start the trip with my own version of a bike tour around Folly. I called 2 days prior to our arrival because I didn't initially think we needed a formal reservation, but started to get nervous as we got closer to the trip. When I called, the guys told me it would be no problem and they would have 10 bikes ready for us at 11:00am that Friday. I wasn't sure what would happen when we arrived, so I held my breath and crossed my fingers all would work out. I was ecstatic when we arrived to see Will and Cameron already at the door waiting on us!! We were maybe 5 minutes or so after 11:00 (10 girls can be a lot to get out the door) but they both commented on us "being on time," so I felt much better. They got us setup and on our way very quickly. I even asked for some of their "expert opinions" on restaurant/bars we should stop throughout the day and they provided us with great recommendations. I think having the bikes on a Friday was perfect because we didn't run into too much traffic and it felt very safe everywhere we went. We were really sad to return the bikes at the end of the day. I thought we would only spend a few hours on them since Folly isn't that big, but we were having so much fun we stayed on them until the shop was closing. By the end of the weekend, I asked the girls what their favorite part of the trip was and the most common response was the bikes!! If I had to do it over, I would probably pay to rent bikes for the full weekend. It was the best way to get 10 girls around Folly Beach!

On every visit, they have repaired the problem and have never tried to upsell me on some other aspect of the bike. The last visit has given me a reason to take the next step and write a comment as their customer service was outstanding. Through a mutual miscommunication, the wrong replacement tire was ordered and placed on my bike. I only noticed this about five weeks later, and went in hoping they might switch for the desired tire with some discount for the replacement. Dan, the owner of the shop apologized and went much further than I had expected in ensuring my satisfaction in the overall experience. In 2026, to have this kind of old school (i.e., proper) customer service is rather exceptional. This kind of service requires customer loyalty in response. I will always come to Dan for repairs and future purchases. I heartily recommend that anyone who needs bicycle repairs do the same.

We also toured some neighborhoods and felt like we got to see 'real' neighborhoods while riding around. The bikes were easy to manage and a lot of fun to ride, especially when hitting the throttle for an extra boost. The owner gave us a map to show us some highlights of places to go, that was helpful. I rented 6 bikes for a week but we had to evacuate the island after 2.5 days due to hurricane Debby. Because of the chaos from leaving the island in a hurry, I contacted the Seaside Cycles the day after we left to get a partial refund on the bikes. The company was unresponsive to calls and texts for 4 days, and when they did finally respond, they denied my request for a partial refund. Instead, they informed me that their policy does not allow them to provide partial refunds, even for hurricanes. There are many options for bike rentals in Kiawah Island, find a different company.
