I'm just stunned at the result that we got with them and had to tell someone. TL;DR Our house looks brand new. It's s been a couple weeks. I am still stunned, and our house looks like the jewel of the neighborhood! A little background: I used to be a foreman and have a trained eye for inspecting homes. Because of this, I grilled the various contractors that came out to bid. I'm really glad that I called Tommy Lane Painters last because it gave me a different perspective of the quality of craftsman out there. People just don't seem to care about quality anymore. I had almost given up. I'm really impressed by how quickly they responded to my calls and texts and how professional and polite the entire team was. Tommy and Fred came out, gave the honest assessment I was hoping for (very detailed). Their proposal left nothing out. They took a ton of pictures for the digital proposal, explained fully how they would fix my highly weathered walls and fascia in layman's terms which I appreciated a lot. In fact, before they came out, I thought I would have to replace my fascia boards entirely. They demonstrated that even though the original painters did a poor job of protecting the exterior (no caulking above the window frames, seams and inferior paint) they thoroughly explained how they would repair the wood with a special technique and make it look brand new. Tommy went over and above my expectations. He's not the cheapest, but for good reason. When I shared with him the pricing I had gotten from another vendor (that was the digital equivalent of scribbling on a napkin), he showed how it would be impossible to do adequate prep for that price, and we'd be stuck with inferior paint to boot. Their foreman was super professional, responsive and helpful. I was one of those homeowners that was watching every step of the way. Not because I had a reason to nag, but because as a former tradesman I loved to see the process unfold. This gave me a lot of opportunity to watch how thorough they prepped and restored the walls and made my previously battered looking eaves look like brand new plywood. In fact, fully half of the job was meticulously prepping and carefully caulking all of the seams. No shortcuts. Truly stellar. Worth every penny. I have to mention, the team also worked together seamlessly, professional and very respectful of our home, the neighbors, and went over and above to make sure we didn't just like the result, but that we were thrilled. When it came time for the final walk-through, I had to really scour the work to find anything wrong. I don't know of any remodeling or repair job that didn't need some kind of touchups in the end, but I started laughing because they did such a good job, that the only thing I found was a little extra caulking on a window ...that was from the previous painter! They got the job done right. We'd be happy to use their services again down the road for our next project, but they did such a great job, that the house will likely outlive me! Thanks Tommy Lane!

Three years ago I'd had a handyman fix the dry rot on my patio. Needless to say, the workmanship was shoddy. Scott and the "Apprentice" started working on this area first - shoring up the areas that were starting to sag, adding a border to make it more pleasing to the eye, replacing the screens all the way around, and adding a vinyl door to make it more secure (even added a doggy door for my fur babies)! They then moved to the side of the house, replacing the 60-year old door which enclosed the water heater, as well as installing a new steel side door for additional security. In the front of the house, the team removed and repaired a dry rot encrusted overhead beam, installed a new vertical beam in concrete, and removed an old falling apart brick enclosure to make room for a front deck with horizontal slats, so that mom can enjoy sitting in the front yard, chatting with family and friends. The team then moved to the three ugly brick columns that should have been a focal point for the home, but only served to draw attention to the age of the home, and the need for some serious work! The team removed the old brick and replaced it with beautiful marble stone. The new look required an update to the lighting fixtures to highlight that gorgeous rock, as well as a matching porch light to add to the beauty of the end product. By the way, Greg and team did all of the repair work (we had only one change order to add the deck, and the team didn't miss a beat)! Fortunately, the rain stopped and the painting began. Two days later, I had the home I'd envisioned for over a year! Thank you, Greg and team, for making my vision a reality.
