Zen Air quoted me about $540 to replace a capacitor, this is after the $150 service call fee. Capacitors retail for $10-$35 and take less than 10 minutes to replace. It's obvious their business model is to take advantage of peoples ignorance, instead of providing a service at a fair and reasonable price. I called up someone else and they did the job including parts and service call for $120. Despite the insane price, the technician was pleasant and professional. read more

Biggest foreign rip off came from Zen Air company when they sent Ed Burba to inspect our a/c unit. We had just moved in to our new home on September 12. Our air condition unit was working just fine but we turned it off to open the windows because the movers were in and out constantly. A few days later we decided to have it checked out so we scheduled service with the warranty service. They sent Ed Burba to inspect our unit. All this time we never mentioned that the unit was inspected and there was no problems with it just that we felt it wasn't blowing cold enough. Well he came said to turn it off because the coils were frozen and possibly leaking he will know in a couple days when he comes back so he'll schedule to return Friday. Well we waited anxiously for the schedule time frame for his return and no one came and we had to call to find out he never schedule to return and that someone would come out the following Monday. We let's just say that wasn't happening in this life time. So they said some one else would be coming, but the same person( Ed) showed up. I asked him what happen and i told him that it is poor customer service. He responded that it was Zen scheduling messed up the appointment for Friday. So Ed goes up in the addict and does what he sets out to do to put extra money in his pocket and comes back down to us and saids pay HIM $400 and he will fix the problem not pay Zen , but pay HIM. Just from those words we knew he was ripping us off. It's not over because we will take this as far as we need to go and we have an inspector that will back us. To be continued..... read more
