My wife and I recently took one of our older Lexus vehicles in for a multi-point inspection. I…read moreneeded to know whether the transmission issue was the only problem with the car and whether it was worth putting more money into my baby so I could drive it for another 3-4 years, or whether we should cut our losses and trade it in or sell it and purchase a new Lexus. I was told by the service representative that a master technician would inspect my Lexus. Two days later, we received a video from the master technician and a call from the service representative. We were told that we needed a remanufactured transmission, a front wheel bearing, rear brake pads, and new tires. However, everything else looked great, and the vehicle was in excellent condition. We authorized the repairs based solely on this very important information. However, the estimate increased by a few hundred dollars from the original estimate because of a mistake in the service representative's calculations. He was honest about the mistake. We were not happy about it, but we still decided to move forward with the repairs. A few days later, we received another call from the service representative, thinking our beautiful Lexus was finally repaired. No. We received another video showing the car on a lift, and now we were told that there was structural rust underneath the jack-point area. Rust material was all over the garage floor. The rusted areas were in plain sight. I told the service representative that this car was never on a lift and that it clearly had never received a complete multi-point inspection. He agreed and did not charge us for the inspection. At that point, we stopped all repairs and had the Lexus towed back home later. This left us wondering: What else was wrong with our Lexus? Suspension? Exhaust? Something else that had not been discovered? A few days later, we went back to the dealership to pick up our Lexus and the keys. We were not given an inspection report. In fact, we were not given any paperwork until we specifically asked for it. We asked to speak with the Service Manager. After waiting about 25 minutes, we were able to speak with Nick. We explained the entire situation to him, and there was nothing--no apology, no explanation, nothing. He barely said two words to us. What a waste of time. So now we are actively looking for a new Lexus. Trust me, we would rather drive farther to Lexus of Wesley Chapel--or any other Lexus dealership--than ever step foot in Lexus of Clearwater again!

Until today, I never thought I'd be judged or made to feel less than because I'm disabled but shopping for a car today it happened. One very ballsy person had the nerve to say if I wanted the car I had to bring half the total $5000 price even though my accepted app had a price calculator that said $900 down would be $81 monthly payments. Besides feeling awkward since no one's ever been so obviously hateful or treated me like I am less than them, I just felt sad and then I was FURIOUS. I said I would get back to her and promptly blocked that tacky saleswoman on my cell. Keep treating people like that and you won't be selling cars for long! That's when Yancar and Son's Auto Sales called. I wasn't very pleasant at first but then he asked what I was looking for and for the first time all day, SOMEONE was listening to me! He didn't hide his skepticism about what I could afford or my income. BUT WHAT HE DID DO: looked through his inventory and found the type of car I had been asking for from salespeople all day!!! He asked me what I could afford and he didn't try to upsell me. He said now look, I am willing to work with you and if you want this car and are sure you can make the payments, come on in tomorrow at 10:30. It's nothing fancy but it's a good car with good mileage. I took a list of people as references and had already got insurance quotes when I walked in. He showed me my car and it was just what i wanted. By the way, take cash or if they take checks, write one out because I had a bank card I couldn't use but I gladly went over to the bank and brought back down payment. Oh and they do the tax/title and plate there so you don't have to go wait at the DMV for hours! When I was leaving I thanked them for working with me. I am so excited to have a car now! I am going to take everyone I know who may be looking to buy a car to them because I know I was scared of getting ripped off and it was such a nice experience! A lot of these dealerships see some people coming and prejudge and this isn't that kind of place. I'm sure if you have big bucks they will find what you want but if you don't have big bucks they will see if they have what you're looking to buy. These guys know the questions to ask people to help them figure out what they want to buy. And if you need any information on insurance they have some contacts that can give you quotes. My experience at this business was a positive one and I am glad I answered the phone when they returned my call after the day of car sales hell I had!! I really didn't want to go but so glad I did. I know that this is where I will come to buy a car or get maintenance done. I didn't think I would find a place willing to work with me to give me a second chance. While servicing, the tech rolled down my window and couldn't get it to roll back up. They manually pushed it up and acted like it was no big deal, but while driving it started to fall back down and will not close. They now want to charge me over $600 to fix an issue that they created, and unwilling to offer any discount or consideration. Fiat has a known issue with window regulator and I have already had to have this part replaced on multiple occasions, always at the dealership, to the point where I never roll my window down because this can happen. When I brought the vehicle back to address the window, the person completing intake also mentioned this is a known issue and he would never roll down the window of a fiat. If this is a known issue, why did they roll down the window and then refuse accountability for their actions? I was told due to tight quarters the have to roll down the window to ensure they get it onto the lift with no issues, but this was the passenger window and clearly there are ways around this - have someone watch from the outside. They knew this is an issue and did it anyway. Guess they were looking for a reason to find something to charge for. I had already prepaid for next year's oil changes but will not be returning despite their refusal to refund this as well.
