On UberEats this restaurant is called Vegan Danish Bakery I got the croissant filled with vegan Boston cream and covered in chocolate, which was actually quite delicious! I would get it again. My only complaint is that I thought the chocolate on top would be a hard shell, but it was more like the syrup you put on a Sundae so there's absolutely no place to grab it without getting chocolate all over your hands. Loved this spot so much that I went back again a week later! Classical music serenades you while you sip your made to order beverage, in a quaint corner booth, or looking out onto Queen West. My favourite lunch item is the vegan tuna sandwich. It's served open-faced, and tastes like tuna without that undesirable fishy flavour. Had this both times. The butter tarts are out-of-this-world fabulous. Light and flakey pastry, and the filling isn't too sweet. My husband loves the BLT sandwich and freshly steeped iced tea. The carrot cake, cherry cheesecake and lemon cake are consistently excellent. Staff are quick, kind, courteous and friendly and the atmosphere is elegant but not at all stuffy. TIP 1: Park on a side street, since there are limited spots on Queen, and another restaurant has a summer patio that takes up a lot of the road. A proper European cafe feeling inside this place. They are all vegan, but they haven't had to compromise on taste or variety here - as it should be. Since vegan cooking and baking are still in their early days, there are plenty of places serving vegan dishes for the vanity of having vegan items on the menu, but haven't yet perfected their recipes. This place on the other hand serves treats that you will enjoy without any compromise even though they don't contain any eggs or dairy. It's a win for the animals and a win for your mouth. This place is a vegan Danish bakery (yes pun intended!) Copenhagen is the capital city of Denmark, I just Googled it. This has to be one of the fanciest cafes I have ever been to. Fancy furniture. Fancy Chandeliers. Fancy glassware and silverware. Classic fancy music playing in the background. What I'm trying to say is that you should bring your date here and not your laptop! I moved into the neighborhood looking for vegandales infamous amazing baked goods. I tried all the other spots, they have some small gluten free options but none of them blew me away. Until I walked into Copenhagen Vegan Cafe, which is labelled Vegan Danish bakery on the front. I wasn't even aware there was a secondary one in North York? Anyways so I'm gluten free so I can eat the cheese cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. The cheesecake is so good I'm convinced that's what a real cheesecake must taste like. They also have coffee and other brunch items but I think the deserts are where they really get an award. Probably the best gluten dairy free cheese cake I've ever had in my life and I've eaten at almost every gluten free bakery in the city at this point due to my allergies. I am mega critical of gluten free desserts at this point. I've been to many other bakeries that taste like cardboard, or it's too dense and not fluffy. VDB I think has really spent the time to get it good, almost Parisian level pastry skills. Staff are super cool. Nice chill classical music, especially cuz it's Parkdale where every other establishment plays party music (that's cool I'm young too). They got coffee and tea and stuff too. Good for a date spot or afternoon tea. If you're walking through the area make a point of stopping through. They have a lot of variety and it's never crowded so it's always a chill place to sit. You could probably even remote work there if you wanted to, there's enough space and it's quiet enough. If they had more breakfast items I would make this place my breakfast spot but they only open 5 days a week 12pm-6pm so I feel like this is more of a spot for people getting vegan lunches or picking up cakes for parties. I'm so torn about this vegan bakery. I live in Parkdale and really have a very low patience for all things Vegandale. I've managed to avoid them since it was clear they cared more about stunt marketing than the hood, but everyone has that vegan friend who they love, and this particular friend was in town and we were walking by. Why shouldn't they have delicious baked goods, y'know? We popped in here for lunch and a to go box of their sweets. He was very impressed with their treats, we both liked the decor, and in the end we both thought it was pretty overpriced. Will I be returning? Probably not. This place seems very high end for me! Lucky my cool co worker was flipping out the credit card for this one! Seriously I went... "WHAT," when they told us the price.. But my what turned into a yum yum who cares how much money we spending when i bit into the deserts that we purchased.. Quite possibly the best vegan cookie I have ever eaten and the other dessert stuff, was incredible too! We just got a variety box, and yep I had to leave them at my co workers house cause, I would have eaten them all! To preface, I haven't actually gone into the bakery for a sit down meal or treat, but I did recently order a birthday cake for my mom for pick up, and it was AMAZING. If you're a fan of dense, moist, delicious vegan cakes, you should go to Copenhagen Vegan Cafe and Bakery. This cake was a huge hit with my non-vegan parents and my vegan partner + myself. Seriously, I've tried a lot of vegan cakes from a couple different places and this was absolutely my FAVOURITE. Reasonably priced too! Discovered this place when driving by on our way to brunch. We decided to check it out for dessert. The decor, although pleasant, is a bit mismatched in my opinion. There are way to many tables crammed into a small store so walking space is very limited. Anyway, in terms of food they have a decent array of baked good and confectionaries. All of which are vegan. I also saw they have a brunch and breakfast menu, which seems to have meat. Not sure what happened there. We decided to share a Tiramisu. It was good, but something was lacking in the flavour. Finding dairy-free or vegan desserts can be a challenge... but to come across an entire café full of them? Oh, I'm down! For me it is rare to be able to walk into a café knowing nothing is off limits, so I really appreciate that here. They have a wide variety of desserts... I was so focused on the sweet stuff but they apparently have a savoury selection too. I didn't find the prices higher than what you'd pay for a slice of cake or cupcake at other dessert places or a café like Second Cup, so I think the prices are fine. The desserts tasted good... The red velvet cake and cheesecake were just good , but the amaretto balls were most enjoyable. I was so happy that I even had an opportunity to indulge. The decor was absolutely lovely as well... such a cute place. Next time I will stay and sit down to eat. First of all, this place is so cute. It's charming, and the decor is spot on. The pastry case is full of adorable and tantalizing pastries. I went here with my girlfriend and her Mum for lunch, so I opted for the tuna sandwich, and they got eggs Benedict and the BLT. The thing I have missed the most since going vegetarian is definitely tuna. Chickpea tuna doesn't compare, and I was so blown away with my sandwich!! It tasted just like tuna. The bacon on the BLT was also freaky- it tasted and looked just like bacon. The eggs Benedict weren't quite eggy, but overall I was very impressed. I took away a star because the portion sizes were comically small. My tuna sandwich was two tiny triangle points of toast. I'm still hungry, but can't justify spending $10 to get another order of them. read more

OMS so when the pandemic first hit and this place closed up for a bit I was devastated. Mainly because my daughter and I had just discovered this wonderful bakery. Being vegan but growing up in a European family dishes don't always crossover but Copenhagen bridges that gap. In fact I would go so far as to say that I dare you to tell me their offerings are just as good if not better than their non-vegan versions. I should point out I am not a sweets person but the first time my daughter and I were there we totally over did it but what a menu sampling it was. They offer high quality delicious treats and foods. Ever since I cut out dairy I have been on a search for good vegan baked goods to satisfy my sweet tooth. The first time I went to this place was with a friend that was visiting from out of town and we were just hanging around Queen street looking for a cafe to sit and just chill. The interior is decorated beautifully and gives off a high end feel - seems like a place to have high tea with your friends. We ordered the lasagna to share and it was awesome! Although the tray of lasagna they have to take home is a little overpriced ($20) it did taste pretty good. The second time I went we ordered their cherry cheesecake and carrot cake to go. It was with a date who has a sweet tooth and I wanted to show them what vegan desserts can do! The cheesecake was amazing (I haven't had cheesecake in forever) - it was rich, creamy, with the perfect tartness from the cherry toppings. The carrot cake was great as well! M and I trekked here for brunch on Sunday afternoon (it was like 1pm). We parked in a green P parking lot and crossed the seat to eat this bakery. If you've been to vegan danish then you kind of know what to expect. They are very very similar. We split the Viking breakfast which had potties, vegan sausage "eggs" on a biscuit with bechamel sauce and a side of waffles. I found the biscuits very crumbly. I really liked the waffles much more at this location then at vegan danish. The staff aren't as friendly. It was pretty steady with traffic but you could still find places to sit. I don't think the drive downtown for brunch was worth it, but if I was in the area I would definitely pop in to pick something up. read more

I got dragged here a few months ago and I would rather go to get root canal then go to another Vegan cafe. The desert when it finally cake was loaded with sugar and did not taste good at all and the entire atmosphere is just weird. This place is straight up beautiful. It has absolutely none of the promotion or cliches of a lot of vegan places. I feel like I should say that I am vegan, but I never talk about it, and I get pretty sick of people making boring jokes or assuming certain things about the type of food and people that come with the lifestyle. So this place is an amazing change of pace. Everything is lovely, delicious, the staff are so friendly, and every detail (down to the bathrooms) is well thought out. There's even a very small selection of packaged goods to take home. But nothing about this place would make you think you're eating plants. Cutest little vegan cafe! The interior is classic and beautiful - the perfect spot to enjoy delicious vegan treats. We tried the Pumpkin Spiced Latte, made with real pumpkin! We were in Toronto for New Years and ordinarily go to TBC for breakfast. We were totally bummed to find out that TBC was closed for our entire stay and so started our search for somewhere else to eat. That search led us to Copenhagen. It was walking distance from where we stayed, totally vegan, and open. Yay. The men working that day were super nice and helpful. We ended up with perhaps the best breakfast sandwich ever. A cupcake that was to die for. A croissant that was still delicious despite obviously not being fresh. A super tasty bagel that was perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. And the most delicious fresh squeezed orange juice. We were so blown away by the quality of the food that we stopped by again for some pastries to take with us before leaving town.
