We love and are members of Le Cuvier. The wines are delicious, the tasting room is lovely with an amazing view, they are dog friendly and they do incredible food & wine pairings! As a member, it is only $10 for a tasting with food and the food is delicious. It's fun to actually experience how wine can enhance food. Very friendly and knowledgeable service too. Highly recommend visiting! Be sure to make an appointment.
We were tasting on this side of town and decided to pop in to Le Cuvier as we were driving by, we arrived too late to do the food and wine pairing, but were still able to do a tasting - which was exactly what we were looking to do anyways. Sat on a long bench with a beautiful view and Miranda brought us out our wines one at a time. She doesn't normally do tastings, so it was very kind of her to stick around and let us taste! We had so much fun chatting with her about the wines, history of the winery, and Paso in general. We really liked a lot of the wines here and ended up leaving with a bottle of their cab sauv and l'enfant du pape. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy the food and wine pairing, the menu changes seasonally and sounded amazing when we were there!
I have to say I have enjoyed many fabulous wine tasting over the years but this experience was probably my top. First of all the view was gorgeous, and it was fascinating to hear about how they make their boutique wines.. The showstopper was the food pairing that went with the wine. These were chef created food pairings to be exact. Alex and Xavier could not have presented the wine better! I can't wait to come back!
Came for the food and wine pairing and it was absolutely phenomenal! Definitely need a reservation because they do fill up. The food was amazing and much higher quality than your normal food pairings. The chef knows what he's doing. The wines were also great and our host was very knowledgeable. They give you small booklets with very beautiful descriptions of each of the wines as well as the small bites. Our favorite small bite was the filet and the cabbage roll! Will definitely recommend.

Whether it's a bi-annual visit with just me and my husband, or if we bring our closest friends with us, the crew at Le Cuvier is always so welcoming! Xavier was our wine host/educator that day, and he was a pro at handling simultaneous tastings, while also spending equal time with all parties in the private tasting room. I'm still amazed at how many wine glasses he could hold on one hand!!! LOL. Special shout-out to Stephanie, our wine host/educator from our last visit, who stopped by to say hi and helped fill our water glasses too (so sweet of her for remembering us). Glad we were able to share the best experience with our closest friends, and the reason why we love Le Cuvier! Came in for the food and wine pairing because my friend said she's heard great things about this experience. It was so good that I joined the wine club and booked the lunch for the next day. Looks like I'll be visiting Paso Robles a lot more frequently now, since Chef Kyle creates new bite pairings every 2 months and the lunch every 3 months =d They also post their recipes online. The tomato sauce was amazing paired with their 2021 Petite Sirah. I've purchased 2 bottles and am waiting patiently for the recipe to be posted so I can make it at home and revisit that delicious pairing! Yum!

What sets this place apart is their extraordinary ability to pair food and wine in a way that feels thoughtful, refined, and completely unforgettable. Each wine is served with a perfectly matched small bite that elevates both the wine and the food. The pairings are exquisite--not just tasty, but crafted with intention and creativity. We also had the pleasure of enjoying their lunch and wine pairing, which was equally impressive. Every dish was beautifully executed and complemented the wines so naturally--it felt like each course told a story. The staff at Le Cuvier were equally remarkable. Warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, they made us feel like we were part of an exclusive, curated experience rather than just visitors at a tasting room. A special shout-out to Lawrence, who was both passionate and professional--his deep knowledge and charisma added so much to our visit. Getting to Le Cuvier does require a bit of commitment--the drive up the narrow, winding, single-lane road wasn't my favorite part of the day. But the second we arrived and took in the views (and that first sip), I knew it was absolutely worth it. Now, let's talk about the wines. I've never been a fan of Chardonnay--until now. Their Chardonnay aged in neutral oak was stunning. Instead of the usual heavy, buttery notes, this wine was fresh, fruit-driven, and incredibly well-balanced, with a complexity that made me sit up and take notice. All of Le Cuvier's wines share a signature profile: soft tannins, bold flavor, and remarkable structure. This is thanks in part to their philosophy of aging all wines in neutral oak for nearly three years, allowing the true character of the wine to shine without overpowering wood influence. They also use dry-farmed grapes, which adds a unique depth and earthiness to their wines that you won't find just anywhere. Two other standouts: the Petite Sirah, which was rich, dark, and powerful without being overwhelming, and the Grenache, which showed beautiful spice, red fruit, and elegance. If you're looking for a wine tasting that's immersive, elevated, and unlike anything else in Paso Robles, Le Cuvier is the place. Yes, the drive may test your nerves--but once you're up there, you'll never want to come back down.
Amazing views! This winery used to be a residence so there are separated locations on the property which would be nice if you're having a party or gathering. The service was pretty quick and the wine knowledge was high. I think what elevated the experience was the sampling of food provided with the wines. Everything was so good and the wine taste was enhanced with every bite. I fell in love with their Zinfandel as it was so crisp and refreshing for a red.
Wine paired with food. What a brilliant idea! I spotted this one when I was hunting for vineyards to visit in the Paso Robles area - the concept above intrigued me. They called us in advance and let us know that salmon would be the entre. We though that would be great - and it was. So great I ate it before I thought about taking a picture (sorry). The tasting area has a tree growing in the middle of it. It's open air, and we had a nice breeze which helped keep things cool. Spot coolers were stationed around the area (evaporative type) which helped keep the temperatures moderate. The starting course (see the picture) was 5 bite sized nuggets of goodness. On the left was apple slices with a rich sauce, above that was pork loin on break, next to that was two slices of rib eye with sauce, and they two other dishes that went quite well with the wine. The main course was salmon, and it was done perfectly. Even the skin was edible (and I usually end up double-bagging salmon skin and pitching it). The seasoning was just perfect, as was the wine pairing. The service and staff were just top notch. The food pairings were perfect for matching up food and wine - not too much, not too little - just right. The salmon entre was very filling, and absolutely delicious. Reservations are required, so look them up and make one. If you are in the area, you'd be missing a great opportunity if you don't try this entertainment option.
Out of all the times which I've been, quite a few throughout the year has to be the best yet. For the wine and the food paring. We had an early reservations 5/2 just after they opened. When we arrived, give or take a couple of parties already seated for the first seating. The gentleman that checked us was the sweetest. You get the welcome tea drink which the cup is used for water throughout your tasting. Very friendly and sweet. A little joke throughout the whole experience with the food pairing and meal. I was joking that he was hyping up the meal that it better be worth it. Let me just say, he was 100 percent right. The best meal out of all the times I've been..... It didn't take long till our table was ready. Also it was a first time that we were seating outside in the courtyard. Normally it's inside the room once you enter the courtyard. It was a nice Saturday and the weather was great. A nice touch to the beginning of something sweet. There was also another table set up down in the garden area that was utilized as well. Gabby who took are of us that afternoon was the sweetest. The details and explanation of everything was to the tee. Also, this is the second time that I had to mentioned they forgot our little posey of flowers...lol... The small details that we love. Depending on the menu and tasting, the pairing is brought out with each glass. Wine are set up first and pairing followed. This visit, we started off with three pairing. Bacon and leeks strata, amazing by the way. Then the antipasto salad followed by a 4 spice seared duck breast. Wow, just with those three pairing with the wine was excellent. Each wine delicately chosen to match the meal, details on details. Afterwards, the last two paring were brought out. The oven roasted portobello mushrooms and ramen were the last of the pairing accompanied by the wine pair. Just those small tasting alone was excellent. To finish off with the tasting which with members we alway go for the lunch pairing afterwards. A meal with a glass to accommodate the dish. This by far was the best I've had. A 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon paired with black angus filet mignon. Poomes paille, bordelaise, wedge salad of half romaine lettuce with Parmesan, bacon, mini san marzano tomatoes, asparagus, Tokyo turnip, chives and Caesar dressing. Wow, it was fantastic. The streak was cooked perfectly with a nice pink center. Salad was crunchy and paired well with all the trimming and then you have the wine pair, chefs kiss. The chef knows their food. Everything was excellent as alway and this was another wonderful experience. A first time tasting in the courtyard was great. Gabby was amazing and the sweetest. And the gentlemen checking us in. He was dead right on the meal, it was amazing. My favorite so far. Service was amazing and the wine, of course that's great. Until next time. read more

A friend brought us here on a girls' trip! We made a 4PM reservation on a Saturday for a food and wine pairing ($45, 5 wines accompanying 5 dishes). Le Cuvier is up at the top of the hill with sweeping views of the whole valley. It's a narrow, winding path to get to the top so drive carefully! Once you arrive, its a colorful, quirky, nature-filled, calm retreat. We got to meet both friendly winery cats, Otis and ( swear I thought I'd remember the other one's name!) Cat presence always gets extra points from me. We were seated on the large shaded outdoor patio, and we were the only customers there. It was late in the day and I guess the midday rush had all just vacated at once. Our server was really great at describing the winemaking process, flavor profiles and history of the winery, but the patio was completely silent. We took out a phone to play our own music and she commented that her mother did the same thing when she visits. Dining experiences need music! If they're aware of this, I hope they consider adding some soft music for a more comfortable ambiance. Wines - All of the wines here are natural, which not many wineries can claim in this area, and I tasted some very unique blends like nothing I've tasted before. My favorite was the Syrah, but the rest of the wines weren't really my style. Food - The menu is changed regularly and it's obvious that the chef enjoys putting it together! We didn't get to try the ramen that my friend raved about because of the new menu, but we loved the mini "street taco" tostada and the spam maki. I did think some dishes would have been better served hot, like the orange-glazed chicken thigh. This was such a cool, unique experience and it sounds like you'll never have the same experience twice! Would recommend to anyone. read more

I love this place! Highly recommend! Feels very intimate and peaceful. Food and drinks were amazing. I love the little mini bites that go along with the wines. Just enough bites to finish the glass. Also greeted by their cats which I enjoyed their company. Their little flower bouquet is such a cute and thought touch to their setup. Will be back! read more

It's my second time here with my boyfriend and his family who has been a member for so long (M. Marsh) and sad to say but they had failed again and this is within a 6 month period. The reason behind this is the first time my boyfriend got food poison , how you may ask well his father is a doctor and was diagnosed on the scene. The second time was today. They forgot our main course for our wine tasting which was the pork loin. We basically were there for 3 hours. They had no excuse but to say the board, what about the board??? The kitchen staff didn't read it and on top of that before coming here they knew that one of the guest is allergic to bell pepper yet they still served bell pepper on his food. The ambiance is nice, you can hold a conversation with your guest but you can also hear other guest chatting. The decor is very chic with a touch of Europe. The view is amazing. Our waiter was nice and very knowledgeable with his wine. read more

There are so many wineries in Paso to choose from and Le Cuvier should be on your list!! The scenery alone is worth the drive. Me, the hubby and my cousin and her hubby came on a Saturday around 12 with reservations ( 90 min experience). We were delighted to find out it came with a food pairing and 5 tasting wines. When we arrived we were greeted with a palate cleansing tea ( I liked it but the cousins wanted more sugar in it lol). The hubby is allergic to almonds and they were accommodating in making sure there was nothing that would cause a reaction. Jordan our server was very knowledgeable about the winery and gave us the history of Le Cuvier. He explained each wine and how it paired with each bite sized food item ( my fave was the duck mole on a mini tortillas chip) chefs kiss The wines are strong yall!! lol. I would suggest to definitely eat a bit before. After we were done we did a mini photo shoot and went back to our airbnb to nap lol. read more

Pretty disappointed with their wine selection and food pairing. The food pairing was like a carb overload and the food was all cold! Our server would not stop talking to us and he kept on spitting at our food when he talked over us. We couldn't enjoy our wine tasting. The wine was all acidic to the palette. read more
To start it all off- warm tea and the service of Alex .. superb! Not to mention the final touches on the napkins with roses.. marvelous. The food pairing with their wines was exquisite. A very unique experience that everyone should try! The wines were also very unique and the best part was the history and poetic write ups that romanticized the wines. Fave wine was the Pentimento. Well done wine/food pairing experience. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the product. The tastings change which makes for a unique experience every time. My favorite wine is the Grenache but they're all solid. Really cool way to experience the wines the season bites. We added the lunch on since it was a less busy day and it was well worth it! The good: 1. The property has some lovely views. 2. The snacks they pair with the wines are delightful. 3. They have some good air flow in the tasting area on a hot day. The bad: 1. You can't see the lovely views from the seating area. 2. The wine isn't as tasty as others we have had in Paso. 3. The wine is pricier than others in Paso. Overall I would consider this as a very nice place for a snack as the food is far better than the wine. read more

A much more involved wine tasting, which includes multiple courses of food meant to each pair with different glasses of wine! The menu rotates and changes as do the glasses of wine. We got to enjoy great outdoor views with our wine pairing plus our sommelier was exactly that, very informative about the wines and wine in general! The husband was such a fan of the wines he became a member, which he's hoping will allow us to do a vertical tasting with them in the future. We even liked one of their white wines and we are normally red wine drinkers! read more

5 Star experience, EVERYTIME! And we go often, sharing the Le Cuvier experience with friends and our lodging guests. We've been members for several years, and hands down, this is the best wine club we've ever joined (as have many of our friends)! We just attended another pickup party, and we loved the way they had stations set up with the new wines and paired bites so we could mingle with our friends before being seated on the patio for the final wine paired entree. We always enjoy the Le Cuvier experience - the wine, the food, and especially the team! read more

Blown away by the kindness of this winery! My husband and I came here for my birthday on a Monday. I was very sad because Le Cuvier only offers the full wine and lunch pairing on the weekend. Since it was Monday, we did the wine and appetizers pairing, which is offered daily. When the hostess and owner found out it was my birthday, they had the chef make the weekend only lunch pairing for me specially, and it meant so much! The chef even came to talk to us after and he was so kind and we learned a lot of good tips about grilling from him! This winery is a must in Paso! It is beautiful, the food and wine pairing is one of a kind AND each wine has its own creative story, which is so fun to read as you sip. What they have at Le Cuvier is totally unique and an amazing experience. I highly suggest you don't pass this one up! Thank you Le Cuvier for making my birthday so special! read more
