We arrived on a Wednesday evening and found music bingo starting in an hour. The service was superb! I would love to work here if I were a local. They had fun while an execution of great customer service was done. We enjoyed a homemade pizza (chicken bacon ranch!) and a few bottles of wine during our stay. Came to see manatees but alas there were none so finding a place to drown our sorrows was next on the list! Copp Brewery was the closest and turned out to be a great stop. Pulling up it's a very unassuming building but has a fun old world charm when you step inside. We were greeted warmly and were able to sample a variety of their wines and beers. I chose their Cabernet which is much lighter than your normal cab which is great in the warm weather of Florida. My husband had the Orang & Blue IPA which is their take on Blue Moon. There is a nice beer garden in the back with tons of seating in the sun and shade. There is also connect 4, corn hole and baby axe throwing to keep you entertained. read more

Sprawling and warm with an outdoor patio, we stopped here one night when on vacation. Welcomes warmly by a friendly bartender at the back bar who grabbed our beers while multitasking other customers drinks and food. We didn't get any pizza and it did look good. This place would actually be a cool spot if the owners put an ounce of care into it. The landscaping is overgrown with weeds and fallen limbs in the parking lot. Honestly it looks out of business from the outside. We grabbed two beers, I got the creamsicle, there was no creamsicle flavor at all and it tasted old and flat. My husband got a stout that was insanely bitter. We sat outside and the grass was all dead, and the wooden chair tops were splintering and tore up my dress. Then we ordered food, I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and I don't think there was even an ounce of chicken in the whole $12 wrap. The lettuce inside was all wilted it was awful. Then to top it off the service was bad. Will not return. read more

Friends brought us here while visiting from out of town, promising how great it was going to be. My first sign that this was not going to be the case was the dilapidated state of the building that houses the brewery. Our "server" (you have to order at the counter) was polite enough, and took our order and gave us our drinks. The beer pretzel we ordered as a starter was good, but then nothing else came out. Almost an hour goes by with nobody checking on us, and our finally asked what happened to our dinner order. According to her, a random inspection from the state occurred and they were forced to stop making food. Supposing this was true, she didn't bother to come tell us. This really pissed me off and they even had the nerve to charge us for the pretzel after ruining our dinner and wasting an hour of our evening. None of us will ever come back, epic fail. Very unique and just plain fun place to go. Food is awesome and it was a great place to go with friends or family. It's full of relics and pictures from the past. It's a great way to see the history of our Crystal River history. If you are looking for something different and unique this is the place. Ask to see the back room if it's closed up. They are open late! Please check this winery/ brewery out! It's so cute! They do wine & beer flights and obviously drinks by the glass. They have a limited snack menu, but do have options to order snacks. They have a really cute outdoor sitting area as well as indoor sitting books. I got a wine flight and my husband got a beer flight. I was shocked at how flavorful their wines are! Do yourself a favor and try the Java Port & the Tropical turtle. They have all sorts of adorable gift items for sale here too. You can even enjoy some pleasure reading (winery cats). read more

One word: disappointing. This place has so much potential -- it's in a great location with a nice atmosphere, but the experience fell flat. My husband and I came in around 9 PM on a Friday (they close at 11 PM), and the place was nearly empty. You have to order at the bar, which is already inconvenient, but it got worse. My husband ordered a burger, only to be told five minutes later that the grill had been cleaned and they couldn't make burgers. I ordered the rice and beans bowl, and while my husband was back at the bar scrambling to choose something else, a server told me they were out of rice and beans -- at 9 PM. She then handed me the late night menu. At 9 PM. It's clear the issue here is poor management. The worst part? They don't even pay their employees -- allegedly to keep prices low, which is laughable because their prices are not low. If you're running a restaurant, you need to have staff and basic menu items available. Otherwise, what's the point? I wouldn't come back -- not even for free. Go at your own risk. read more

This place has so much potential but needs a serious cash infusion. Everything here inside and out is very dated and dire need of updating. The atmosphere could be great but it is overshadowed by so much of the structure and contents needing to be replaced. Outside beer garden the same. Nice idea with the covered cabana areas out here but the wood is falling apart. Ownership is going to have to invest in this place soon. Now to the experience for the night: Beer selection is poor and is identical to my last visit 6 months ago. Food was mediocre at best with the pizza having way too much cheese and toppings. Buffalo chicken dip slightly better but could not rate as above average. As others have stated, the service model is very funky leaving doubt to the customer on how to proceed. Live Entertainment was excellent, if there was only a lighter, fresher beer to enjoy it with on a mid summers night. Currently this place is missing its opportunity. Can't just let a place sit for 10-15 years with no improvements or updates. read more

From Michigan and was in town to swim with Manatees. Our guide, Kyle, suggested Copp Brewery to eat before we begin our 2.5hr trek to Sarasota. Peeps, this place does not disappoint. I fed my mother, myself, and my two teenage daughters for under $85. Food was awesome. Beer was delicious. Atmosphere was catching. I was sad I had to drive after our food and experience or else I would have tried every brew on tap. The best part? The owner himself guided us through the experoence. It was awesome. We had gone kayaking and my husband had looked into what else we could d and found this winery/brewery. A walk away from where w head rented our kayaks and it is the cutest place. They are opening a jogger location within this month and they'll be serving a full food menu. However this space is so cute , cozy and intimate! You can tell a lot of locals come by and there's so many choices on the menu. We went with two flight that you could mix and match. I did some sweet whites and reds. This was our first time in. He ordered a flight:Southern Grit, creamsicle, double black stout and blood orange seltzer. The special was to order a flight and get the smoked amberjack habanero fish dip free. He enjoyed the drinks, with the one most anticipated- creamsicle- his least favorite. Ordered a pint for double black as a result of enjoying the flight so much. He ordered the blacked group dinner with the ancho corn and jalapeño cornbread. He throughly enjoyed his dinner. The blackened grouper was too salty for me ( the bite I had) and the garlic butter on the cornbread kicked my butt- I don't like so much garlic. The cornbread was delicious ( minus the butter). I ordered the chicken and waffles. Some of the best I've ever had. Came with maple syrup and hot honey sauce. I ordered a side salad so I could feel I had eaten something healthy! We were in town to meet up some family & friends. First time here, but I already love this winery & brewery! Their beers are good, and their wines are excellent. I ended up buying 4 bottles of wine before we left since this place is 2 hours away from our house. They will be relocating soon, but they will still be in Crystal River. Disappointing - if you go, go at your own risk. My family and I were very excited to go the brewery, but were very disappointed when we left. Brewery itself - great. Decor - great. Bear garden - great. Service is odd, it's almost self serve. You have to go up to the bar to place your order - beer, wine, food, etc. Someone will bring your food out, but there was an issue getting our food - "order never made it to the kitchen", we had to walk into the bar 30 minutes after placing our order to see what was taking so long. That's when we were told there was an issue with the printer and the kitchen never received the order. Two servers at the bar (young man and young lady) were great and helpful. We felt bad for them, it's a fairly large space with only two people working the front of house, not good. I would recommend closing off some of the restaurant when it's not busy to keep customers in one area and not spread out all over. It was Manatee Fest weekend (Saturday, midday) and the place was pretty empty. Any way here goes: On a scale of 1 - 5 Beer - 2. I tried almost every beer they offer, couldn't find one I liked. I picked one just to have something. Food - 1 we ordered six different items, only received five and they were all bad. Chicken tacos were "a special", we asked for no jalapenos - both orders came with jalapenos - even in the rice.... Chicken appeared to be, texture and taste canned chicken. Ordered a crispy chicken wrap - no crispy chicken, same canned chicken as the chicken tacos. Ordered plain wings (for a child), they were very basic and very fried. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak, again very bland and basic - a little seasoning would go a long way. We also order the Cuban sandwich, never made it to the table. Oh, sorry, we had two pretzels one with beer cheese and one with the onion spread - would recommend. Those were delivered to the table no problem. Service - 4 - the two employees we interacted with were great, but they are not given the tools to succeed. Pricing - 4 - nothing seemed overpriced. I wish we would have enjoyed the food and beer, but you live and learn. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.... Atmosphere - 4 - we love going to breweries, trying new beers and enjoying a pretzel with beer cheese. The building, decor, beer garden, as mentioned earlier - outstanding. Management - 2 - when I went to pay the bill, the manager was there and asked how everything was and I was fairly honest. I described everything above, she became a little defensive and asked if the servers gave me free drink chips for my next visit, which they did. When I asked if the chicken was from a can, she insisted the chicken was smoked, same with the chicken wings. This place is known for their pizza (I believe wood fire oven pizza - but not 100% sure). If you visit a restaurant and they "smoke" food - you know it. When someone is smoking food, there is a distinct odor in the air, the food had a different color to it. If a restaurant has a wood fire (pizza) oven you usually know it, it's an attraction, people like to see the pizza going into and out of the wood fire oven. Again, I cannot be sure about the wood fire pizza, but when we asked a local if the brewery was near by, they said yes and raved about the wood fire pizza and the pretzel. Overall, would I go back, doubtful, even for the free beer(s). I hope I'm wrong and all the positive reviews are right. I hope the brewery succeeds and is around for a long time. read more

We found this place on Yelp! and it turned out to be a highlight of our stay in Crystal River. It is a winery and brewery that serves their own wine and beer and they have a limited food menu. Their wine flights are 4 wines of your choice that are 1 ounce pours for only $4. The beer flights are 4 beers of your choice, 4 oz pours for $6. This is such a bargain and we had two different wine and beer flights and a very nice reuben sandwich. The staff was very attentive and helpful and she sat down with us to tell us about the wines and beers and it was a delightful evening. Our first experience of this place was excellent! We came on a day when they were closed to get an idea of location and some pics and the owner Fran came out and unexpectedly gave us a private tour! He shared with us the passion and details of putting the restaurant and brewery together ! We came back with a group today and we're pleasantly pleased with Christine for having a table ready and greeting us as we walked in. She made us feel welcome! The food and service were excellent! I'd personally like to knowledge Kate who was working in the "gift shop", she was so sweet and took the time out of her day to answer my questions and wrap up my glasses extra careful! She went above and beyond the normal customer service! We ordered a Rueben sandwich and proclaim it's the best we've had! One of the guys in the group stated he would drive the two hours from his place just to have the prime rib sandwich again! The beer was delicious as well! If you ever find yourself in the Crystal River area, the Copp Brewery and Winery is a must! Their beer and wine is all made in house and I of course did a little of each. Got a few beers and then tried a few wines by ordering a wine flight. They have a giftshop and all of their wine is available to purchase bottles. They opened a restaurant here at the beginning of this year and the food is incredible! (Get the corn bread!!) I am a huge fan of ceviche and made sure to get it and everything I ordered I was blown away by. Plenty of parking, but unfortunately at the moment because of the restaurant, this location is NOT pet friendly, but they are in the works of making an area so your pups can come! read more

Great place to come after being at Three Sisters Springs, very small and intimate with few outdoor seating. They have small bites to snack on and a nice variety of beer and wine and enjoyed that you can mix the two in a flight. The inside is made nicely as half feels like a winery/ wine shop and the other half an old tavern like brewery with the stained glass. They mentioned they are moving locations to start a restaurant and hope they keep some of the original character! read more

This is a small brewery tucked in a quiet area of the city. It is casual and relaxed setting and was a perfect stop on the way to the ocean. I had a glass of the their Vallissimo wine. Between the 4 of us we had some a beers and wine flights, the beers were great and the wine flights were pretty good as well. The food was ok, we had some appetizers and each had an entree, it was all decent, but wouldn't necessarily go back just for the food. We went here last week for the first time and we were not greeted by anyone. There were 5 of us. We grabbed a booth big enough to seat us and waited for a server. I guess we missed the sign on the table saying you need to go to the bar and order your own food and beverage. We ended up going to the bar and they gave us a buzzer to let us know when our food would be ready. Now if you are going there for beer by itself I would highly recommend it. I had the Shipwrecked beer because I wanted something like Guinness. Nothing against Guinness because it is my favorite beer but this beer was outstanding! Now for the food. I ordered the smoked chicken wings. A lot of sauce choices but not many that go with smoked wings. They were average. Our group goes out to restaurants once a week and we try different ones. Having no service was a deal breaker for all of us. We will not go there again. read more

What a great example of craft brewing. They don't pretend to have a great food menu, as they serve mainly appetizers and a couple of sandwiches. They put their energy into their wine and beer. They have a great selection of beer, so I would suggest getting their sample flight. Four to a beers of your liking. A great way to try a few beers at once. I order of what I like: 1. Double Black 2. Maple Stout 3. Toffee Coffee - hint of toffee with a strong coffee 4. Centerfield - similar to Yeungling All 4 were very good and I would drink each again. Went to check out the brewery, in Crystal River of all places. They had some pretty good beers, with many of them deceptively strong (7-12% ABV). Those big boys didn't taste it though, each one went down smooth. The "Southern Grit" made with corn was interesting. None of them were amazing stand-out, but they were all good. Hung out outside on the side porch, which definitely needs to be cleaned more often. Cigarette and cigar butts, stagnant water, dead roaches, and other various gross things. Clean that area up and the place would be so much better. read more

This was not the same Copps Brewery that it use to be. sandwiches and flatbreads only. No choices of sides. the beer gave our friends headaches. no waitress service you must order food and drinks at the bar, get a beeper, when it goes off must go the kitchen to pick up your food. this may be a nice place to share conversation and wine or beer but definitely not a place for dinner like it use to be. The only none alcoholic drinks we were offered was Coke, Diet Coke , Sprite and water. we will not be returning. read more
