Meow Wolf Grapevine feels like a "greatest hits" version of the Meow Wolf universe…read more If you've been to other locations, you'll definitely notice some familiar elements and design ideas. At times it gave me a bit of a "been there, seen that" feeling, like they pulled some of the most popular concepts from past installations and reimagined them here. But even with that, I still had a really good time. The execution is so well done, and there's something fun about recognizing pieces from other locations and seeing how they've been adapted. It's still incredibly immersive, visually impressive, and just a genuinely cool experience to walk through. It may not have had the same "wow, I've never seen this before" feeling as my first visit, but it's still absolutely worth going - and I'd still give it 5 stars without hesitation!

My husband and I needed a fun activity to do together (without the kids) for our 18th wedding anniversary and I decided it looked neat enough to go to, even if it was mainly just an immersive art experience. I was 1000% wrong. It is way, way more than that. It is intense and entertaining and intriguinging and kept our attention and interest for nearly 3 hours on our extended date. We felt a bit like kids again, and there was even more of the experience that we didn't fully explore in that timeframe. It's hard to explain without giving away spoilers but it was incredibly interesting and multifaceted and immersive, but not directly as an art exhibit as much as like you are in a storyline in an Alice in Wonderland-like world with multiple dimensions and most everything is interactive. Touch everything, push the buttons, open the doors and drawers and cabinets, cause there are hidden treasures and such at every turn. The employees were wonderful. No one broke character, they were just as present as you'd want them to be (they're there in part to answer questions and help with whatever is needed), and they all were welcoming. One in particular stood out - Reinhart. I didn't know it until after we exited the experience but they're the manager at the location. That doesn't surprise me because they were a role model for how the staff there should interact with the people attending the experience. They may all do that too truly, but I can only speak directly about this manager as we crossed paths with them so many times. There was a group of elementary-aged kiddos who were clearly having the time of their lives and part of that was due to Reinhart's interactions. The kids would treat them as a customer in their game of "Restaurant", ask them to be a member of their audience as they performed on the stage for them, invite them to walk around with them throughout the different areas of the experience, etc. They stayed in character and interacted with the kids on their level, never seeming bored or inconvenienced, and always game for whatever they wanted of them. They were definitely invested in the kids having the ultimate experience that day and I'm certain they did, in large part due to the way Reinhart enhanced the experience for them throughout their time there. When we left (shortly after the group of kids) they were already at the register helping out and being readily available for the customers in the gift shop. They definitely fulfill the spirit of the place and made it even more fun for us just by being around their great interactions with the kids. Cost: Worth it. 100%. To be clear, I am a pretty cheap person, which is why I had deferred taking my 2 kiddos to it even though they were interested. I didn't want to spend that much money on what I thought was a nice but fairly straightforward art experience but now that we truly understand what it is we will DEFINITELY be bringing them back, as well as our girl scout troop. We're also gonna have my kids upcoming birthday party here too, her request. My only regret is just buying one time tickets and not buying my hubby and I the membership, as it pays for itself after only 2 visits and we will definitely want to go to this and other Meow Wolfs later this summer. They have multiple locations across the US and each one has a different experience/storyline/exhibits, so it's worth going to any of them your near as they aren't all the same. We will likely get our kids the membership when we take them soon. There is an integrated snack shack in the experience and the prices aren't bad, better than a lot of places we've gone to in the past. You can't bring outside food and drink but they do have water stations to fill up an empty bottle at, if you bring one. To summarize - 10/10, highly recommend, will go again, cheapskate approved!!!

Less than 10 min from the airport, its worth a visit for any of the above reasons. It has so many picturesque parts and you can get some stunning sunset ones if you can choose with a little attention. Promoted mainly as apartment complex, it can be a great place to live. The huge metal leaf with all the tiny detail, the tempus fugit bell tower, and other contemporary arts really make a statement. So also do the lit streets around the complex square. One of the coffee shops I visited almost everyday on my short trip was the Ascension coffee. I didn't even try another to compare, they had such unique holiday flavors going on I just kept coming back for more. Note : there are plenty of food options of all kinds. Overall, it was worth the drop-in and I hope I get to explore more in my future visits.

The building looks like something you might see in Cape Cod or Coastal Maine - as I find the buildings in both places charming. This coffee house is all wood and painted white. It has clean lines and modest furnishings making it a perfect space to create what I wanted for my release party. They also offer catering, and It's reasonable pricing. I booked the carriage room for 3 hours and came with understated decor that complimented my party. I also brought my own cake. The food catered from them was delicious and honestly made the event perfect. And Jillian was our point person for our event was spectacular! My event was everything I hoped it would be, and better. I saw a flyer on the window of Bloom's awesome candy shop on the square in old downtown Carrollton…read morefor this festival. Apparently, this is the second annual festival here in downtown Carrollton. It was November 5, 2011 from 11am-11pm. I imagine that next year it'll be around the same time. The name "Festival at the Switchyard" comes from switchyard/railway tribute as there are 3-4 rail lines (including the shiny new DART rail) in the immediate area. It was actually a really cool festival! There were some vendor booths set up for various things (apparel, knick-nacks, etc) including FOOD. The real Fletcher's Corny Dogs had a booth there. Yes, the famous corny dogs from the State Fair were available here. They also had funnel cakes. Another booth had fresh spun cotton candy (with no crazy colorings added, just sugar), the one next to that had fresh squeezed lemonade. Agave Azul (best Mexican place ever) had a booth, right outside their restaurant, selling beef fajitas. There was beer/wine available from a couple of booths... PLUS all of the shops on the square were open. Many of these places being restaurants, which serve booze. I don't know if Agave let people take margaritas outside, but you could always ask! In addition to all of this, they had tons of bands/acts going on all day. Some were in the small gazebo in the square and some were on a big ass stage right next to Agave. The headliner was Third Eye Blind (Hello, 90's flashback!) and they stuck right to their schedule and went on stage at 930pm. They put on a really good show, and it was nice to see them back in town so soon following Taste Addison. If you get the chance to see these guys live and dig the 90's nostalgia of jamming to their hits, then I recommend it. We got there late, because we mostly wanted to see 3eB. But it was still a lot of fun. And most importantly, FREE. Parking is free (though incredibly limited) at the DART station nearby, at various spots surrounding the square, and some people even parked under the 35 overpass. No tickets to buy (like the State Fair) for food, but make sure you've got cash. They did have ATMs available right on Broadway st, but the transaction fee was almost $4 (plus, whatever your bank is going to charge you).. I learned my lesson and will next time just bring cash with me. The biggest problem we encountered was that by the time the headlining band went on, a lot of booths were already completely shut/packing up (out of product), and other booths were out of popular items (out of funnel cakes at 9pm??) and certain kinds of beer. Overall, this was really fun. I'm super glad it was free, but if there were a small entry fee next year (and I mean small- not the way the Wildflower Festival has started gouging people the past 10 years), I'd be happy to support the city where I live by buying a ticket. I highly recommend that people carpool, check the schedule for bands/events/kids things, and plan accordingly. The square is really quite small and I can imagine that it was quite crowded for a lot of the day. Looking at the website, I see that Yelp had a booth there, but I sure missed it! :( Maybe they were shut down by the time I got there (or, quite possibly, I'm blind). I hope this comes back for another year next year!

For example face painting, which was beautiful by the way, had at least 40 kids in live. We didn't partake in anything like that which included all of the rides and bouncy items... Not all 40 per line but long lines none the less. In any event the crafts and games were a hit with my kids and I was happy to hear other music such as pop like music that the kids enjoy. Hats off to all the volunteers!!!!
