An upscale looking area with a class of its own. It studded with couple offices, residential area apartments, park, interesting architecture, beautiful restaurants and cafes overlooking a lake, and more. Less than 10 min from the airport, its worth a visit for any of the above reasons. It has so many picturesque parts and you can get some stunning sunset ones if you can choose with a little attention. Promoted mainly as apartment complex, it can be a great place to live. The huge metal leaf with all the tiny detail, the tempus fugit bell tower, and other contemporary arts really make a statement. So also do the lit streets around the complex square. One of the coffee shops I visited almost everyday on my short trip was the Ascension coffee. I didn't even try another to compare, they had such unique holiday flavors going on I just kept coming back for more. Note : there are plenty of food options of all kinds. Overall, it was worth the drop-in and I hope I get to explore more in my future visits. read more

What a nice complex full of awesome amenities ! There are 4 apartment homes to choose from and they are themed to certain times/places. Staff is very friendly and lots of great spaces for horsing friends and family of you do t have enough space in your apartment. The areas are inviting and very cozy. I've been spending a LOT more time in this area since they built a pristine new workout studio (which is right next door to a wine bar, score!). Love having this as a peaceful oasis and getaway from my norm. There's PLENTY of free parking, live music on the weekends, a splash pad for the kiddos. There's a coffee shop, hamburger joint, pizza spot, and even a spot for fresh seafood and beverages. Great for families or a fun day out with friends or bring out of town guests. Check out Hustle Studios for yoga bootcamp or spin class then head right over to brunch after! Stay for vino and jams! You will also love the new running trail. In fact, if you are looking for some late might stuff, you may wanna try other places. These restaurants close around 11. There are live performances on weekends which is a fun time. Great concept . . . but . . . very poor execution! My wife and I visited "The Sound" at Cypress for the first time on the Sunday before Labor Day to watch and listen to the Emerald City Band from 8:00 - 10:00 pm. We could only purchase tickets online and opted for "lawn seats" at $15 each (plus $6 each in fees and taxes). We were already into this endeavor for $42 so we opted not to purchase the lawn chairs at $5 each (plus $4 each in fees and taxes). Since doors opened at 7:00 pm, we arrived at Cypress Waters around 6:15 pm and decided to get a "pre-concert" beer at The Flying Saucer. We were also told at The Flying Saucer that we should purchase a 32 ounce "growler" and bring it into the show since it will be less expensive than the domestic beers inside the grounds at "The Sound." We opted to purchase two "growlers" only to be told at the gate that we could not bring the "growlers" into the lawn area, even though the beers had not been opened and they had come from the tavern just 25 yards from the front gate! I ended up bringing the beers back to my car. STRIKE ONE! Upon returning to "The Sound," I got in line to purchase the beers on sale "inside" the grounds, however, they were not ready or set up for the dozens of people in line. There was a table, a staff member, a tip jar, and some coolers with various refreshments. However, there was no way to make a transaction; there was not POS device nor a register for cash transactions. Throughout the night, the lines averaged thirty - forty minutes at this only stand in the venue where they sold refreshments and they ran out of most everything they had for sale, even though there are several establishments nearby to replenish their coolers. STRIKE TWO!! As my wife and I settled in on our blanket on the lawn, we anxiously awaited the 8:00 pm start . . . let's make that 8:05 . . . oops, now an 8:10 downbeat. The Emerald City Band is excellent and we were looking forward to a 2-hour show. However, the band played their "final" song at 9:30 with one "encore" song that took them to 9:40 pm. I am sorry. Paying for a 2-hour show and getting only 90 minutes was quite disappointing. STRIKE THREE!!! As a bonus, on the way out, my wife was stopped and was told she needed to finish her beer before she left the grounds even though when you walk outside the grounds of "The Sound" you are in the middle of hundreds of people drinking beer, wine and mixed drinks from several other establishments right on the grounds. This place is very nice and is a great local venue, but needs a great deal of improvement before we ever venture here again. read more

Why does The Sound continually have the worst unknown bands play on Saturday nights that can't hold a tune or play music. They get bands that sound like before they become 'amateurs'. The entertainment has been disappointing year after year. I would think they would have improved after several years. They finally had a good band, Journey scheduled and then they freaking canceled!!! What a disappointment! Enough to make me write this review. It's a great venue for gathering and food but the entertainment is terrible and a disappointment time after time!! Farmers Branch and Carrollton have unknown bands to their venues but they can hold a tune and play their instruments in harmony! Don't tell me to go their then because I do, LOL read more

Great new area for all your eating and social needs in the Valley Ranch/Coppell area! In some ways this closely resembles the Design District, in that you can find apartments, a Rodeo Got, a Flying Fish, and an Ascension very close together. It is way better than Design though because it sits on North Lake, so each restaurant has a patio sitting on the water or overlooking a cool new concert venue! They also feature Eno's Pizza, Flying Saucer, and Landon Winery. They usually have live music Thursday-Saturday evening and there's free wifi across the patio seating. If you can't find lot parking around the Sound, you can park in the parking garage across from Rodeo Goat in retail parking as well! read more

Been to The Sound several times, and it is a very cool place right off the lake. Great location, easy to get to near Coppell and Irving. Every weekend they have free concerts. Love the atmosphere. Check out the http://www.thesoundtx for the schedule. Sometimes you have to pay, but you can see and hear the band from one of the surrounding restaurants or by the lake too. Flying Saucer is super convenient to get a beer and some food and sit by the patio. Afterwards we headed to the Flying Fish and chilled by the lake. read more

Good place until new people started working here, trying to charge you 95$ for not having trash bin during COVID time What a joke

At first glance this is a nice place with convenient dining and shopping, a rare lakeside view and quick access to Dallas/Fort Worth but it is a thin layer of gold over a rotten turd of a place. If you require sleep to function, don't live here....Construction on all sides begins at 5am and doesn't end until 7pm so there is a constant orchestra of cement trucks and generators and metal scraping against metal. Don't fret though as that soon becomes white noise against the other auditory delights. Ben E Keith food trucks start lining up on your street at 4am to deliver food and with it the sound of diesel engines, air releasing out of compressors, gates opening and closing and dollies running down a corrugated ramp. But again do not despair because you've already been up since 3am due to the city trash collector picking up the restaurant dumpsters in the middle of the night and slamming them against the concrete. The city will also bless you with a midnight serenade of water pumps to unclog storm drains running into North Lake. And the piece de resistance...a healthy population of "thirty-thousand dollar millionaires" hot rodding their crotch rockets and aftermarket exhaust through the narrow streets echoing daddys disappointment and crippling debt along the walls and windows. Again the views are nice but when you're staring across at that brown reclaimed water through blood shot eyes because you haven't slept in days it loses its allure. The restaurants are also convenient but when you've heard them complain about their 3rd health code violation this quarter they become less appetizing. Choose sleep my friends, not The Sound. read more
