That said... if you're hoping to leave with the confidence to open your own omakase counter in a strip mall, this is not that. A lot of the components were pre-made or prepped ahead of time, and there wasn't a ton of actual teaching around technique, ingredients, or the food itself. So while you do "make sushi," it's less MasterClass and more cute, hands-on dinner activity. But honestly? That's not necessarily a bad thing. Not every class needs to end with a knife skills certification and a spiritual relationship with sushi rice. We tried a few bites - the patatas bravas, which are thinly fried potato chunks lightly dusted with paprika and topped with garlic aioli. It sounds simple, but was ridiculously addictive, and we found ourselves ordering another serving that night! We also tried the steak, which was perfectly cooked to our desired temperature (medium rare), but was otherwise pretty simply prepared, served atop steak sauce. And we also tried the burrata which came as two small pieces of toasted bread, juicy burrata and charred broccoli (also a simple but satisfying dish). All of the dishes are pretty small, so you would probably need to order at least a handful for a couple to feel pretty satiated, but that makes it fun to try more wine at the same time ;) We were curious about the pork belly, which the owner proclaimed to another guest that night to be "her favorite item on the menu." The staff are helpful and relaxed, making it feel like you're hanging out at a friend's place. Their tasting room is a 100-year-old hotel, so that cool factor is cool. But it's also dealing with challenges of a 100-year-old building. And happy hour gets so loud you can't talk - you shout. That's where my 5th star went. But overall, LOVE this experience!

I ended up eating most of it at the cafe seating upstairs. Discarding the rest, coming home and continue the night I noticed it wasn't sitting right with me. I then started to vomit nonstop, Checked into the ER and I was advised it was probably a food borne illness from the central market sushi, Please be very careful moving forward eating their readymade meals.

Chef Zach provided us a wealth of knowledge on the different types of cocoa (dutch, natural), how to know what's happening with your ganache, how the proportions of liquid to chocolate impact it, infusion of flavors, talked about how best to incorporate ingredients depending on the way in which you choose to do so (by hand, mixer, or food processor) - just a pleasure to learn from and talk to! I'm the baker in the house (although my husband makes amazing souffle's) and I walked away with tips and and tricks that I will definitely be using in the future! I loved seeing and using some of the tools that I didn't even know existed but will definitely be purchasing for my own baking. It was an amazing evening and we look forward to doing another class in the future!

Chef Zach was an absolute gem. :) We parked, walked up to the door, and he opened the front door without us having to knock. He had his entire kitchen prepared for us so that all we had to do was whisk or pour or laugh at his jokes. We made white chocolate mousse with a strawberry sauce. It was absolutely delicious, and he made the entire class effortless. Taught us a lot about chocolate along the way and imparted great advice for an easier time with remaking it. Had a serving each while there, and he sweetly (;)) boxed up our extra servings to-go. Definitely recommend doing his chocolate class! It was a fun date, and the white chocolate mousse just melted in our mouths haha.
