Needless to say, I seen it...lol The restaurant is in a nice area located off of Kingston Pike (near the West Town Mall). I originally had a taste for Italian and was headed to Cappuccino's, which happens to be at the same location. No literally. Walk in the front double doors and Copper Cellar West is on the left and Cappuccino's is on the right. Made an executive decision and went left. Boy I'm glad I did! The place reminds you of something out of the movie The Godfather... the bar is nice and spacious with a great spirit selection. I was told the burger should've been called greatness. My husband and I went out on a date night. We were excited to try this old-school steakhouse. The atmosphere is what you would expect, dark and intimate. My husband got a filet mignon, medium rare with Nevas potatoes. He was told it was a shredded potato casserole. It was more like cheesy mashed potatoes. Everything was wildly lacking salt. I got a bigger portion to share with my husband. I got a filet mignon, medium rare. With grilled shrimp and spinach Mariette. Everything was cooked beautifully, but where is the salt? Absolutely everything needed the seasoning. The only reason I gave is a four star, was because of the seasoning. The atmosphere was fine. The service was wonderful. The quality was absolutely there. Copper Cellar West is an extension of the "Knoxville's original steakhouse", which has been around the 1980's. The original is located on Cumberland Avenue. This Copper Cellar has plenty of parking. I believe it's shared with another business, do not remember what it is. As soon as you walk in, you will notice the rustic design with dark reds throughout. It's on the romantic side, so I would advise to try this place for dinner, especially with the dim lights. I arrived for lunch, so it was a different story. I'm not sure how packed the restaurant gets in the night, but it was probably 1/5 full during lunch time. FOOD: Complimentary bread was stale and hard. Pass this. Maryland crab cake (3/5, lump blue crab meat with bread crumbs, baked): This was the best thing that I tried. It was more meat than bread crumbs. House salad with avocado ranch (2/5): It was more lettuce than anything else. The sauces are stored in little plastic containers, which probably have been in the fridge for a few days. I barely touched this. This was included with my main course. Grilled chicken teriyaki (2/5, fresh chicken breast in oriental marinade, grilled, over rice): It was just okay with brown rice. I wouldn't really order this again. It's on the healthier side, but I'd go to other places for healthier options. Service was decent overall. No big complaints. Would I come back? The darker, moody decor is typical of it's beginning time period and many of the dishes offered have been staples since it's opening. Our service by Autumn was great. I wanted to give her a hug and tell her to walk with more confidence. I ordered the Prosperity steak (rare) with the veggie of the day, tomato with feta, basil and balsamic. My steak was cooked perfectly and the tomatoes had all the fresh flavors I was looking for. Four stars are given because of the oder in the entry and because it lacks a few touches (like boxing left overs) that would push it to excellence. Lobster bisque: not the creamy, thick soup with lobster chunks I was hoping for. New England clam chowder: extremely potato heavy. Mushroom stuffed crab: I wasn't sure what to expect from this but it was pretty good. It's a great combo that I shall try duplicating at home. Blue cheese grits: I love grits but maybe not blue cheese grits? I couldn't tell if it's because of the blue cheese that made it taste sour or if it's just sour. My youngest son placed a to go order On Thursday March 14, 2019 around 9:15 pm. He wanted my oldest Son Diamond, to take him to Copper Cellar Restaurant on Kingston Pike. Its hard to find great food and great service after 9pm at night, Copper Cellar Restaurant has the best food all day and after 9pm. I truly believe that every Chef that works at Copper Cellar Restaurants is iron chefs or the best chefs on the planet. Been here before and service was good, atmosphere is interesting. The food was very good, I love their French onion soup, some of the best I've had. That being said the place is a little pricey. Regardless we went back cause I was craving the soup, went for a little date night with my husband (newlyweds so it was extra special as it was our first date night since getting married), the server was atrocious. I've literally never had a server be purposely rude. We are super easy going and try our best to not inconvenience anyone and aren't particular about our server, don't care if they're chatty or not, or smiley or not. But this server was just hateful, rolled his eyes and scoffed when we ordered water for drinks, super impatient when ordering food (we ordered 2 apps and and entree so nothing g crazy). Super rude to my husband when asking about the entree (figuring out if it came with lettuce and tomato) and the ppl next to us asked for extra bread and he grabbed the bread tray and flung it off the table and scoffed loudly then stomped away and when he brought bread back he basically threw it on their table without actually throwing it. He also ranted to a diff customer near us about how the place steals their money and is awful. I feel sorry for him if that is true but still inappropriate the way he acted. She replied "I'm not sure". We ordered a steak with some sides. We didn't end up ordering a drink or desert because we were not wanting to spend more time in the restaurant. And it was perfect. Next up were Jamestown Oysters. OhMyYum. These were so sweet and wonderful. The ribeye was perfectly prepared and the summer squash fresh veggie was prepared to perfection. Our food was fine, but not the steak you'd get from a classier establishment. It's old school supper club ambience, nice and dim. On the Monday evening we we were there, the dining rooms were pretty empty. Service was good, but our server was almost creepily attentive. He gave off a smarmy vibe, but there was nothing technically to fault him with. The food was amazing! Great seafood. Wonderful steak for my mom. Good wine. Very high quality classics. I'm not sure how their crab cakes hold together, because like at their sister restaurant Chesapeake, they are almost entirely crab. There's almost no filler to speak of. We were seated right next to a larger table though with loud people who were streaming videos at the table. If the dining rooms aren't full, please don't cram people together.
