It was hard to rate this honestly. The food was phenomenal, but the service at the bar was just about nonexistent. I admit I entered during rush hour...7:15pm. I sat at the bar, waited 15+ mins before someone even acknowledged me. He then asked what I wanted to drink, never asked if I wanted a menu. Had to ask after a while for menus. He then gave me menus but gave me a lunch menu. Sat there for another long while before he came back. Asked for a dinner menu, waited another long while for him to even bring me the correct menu. Sat yet another long while before he showed back up only to help someone else. I had to get his attention just to order food. I travel for work 1/2 the year and have eaten at many restaurants of all calibers. I received better service at a hole in the wall joint than here at a fairly high class steak restaurant. I took my boys here for their birthday dinner. The service was fantastic and the dinners were incredible. The atmosphere is relaxing, though the decor is a bit outdated, I rather liked the dark, vintage look, along with the unique copper tables. One of my boys had the rib-eye, medium rare and he raves about it. The other birthday boy had the flounder and he inhaled it much to my disapproval of his eating habits. He raved about his dinner as well. The Copper Cellar West was pricey for the average American, but it was well worth the money spent for a special occasion & a moment to remember. I saw a few reviews on this place and they look pretty good so we thought we'd give it a try .The inside of the restaurant has a very elegant décor. We both had a nice salad and I chose the grilled Prosperity sirloin and she had the char broiled shrimp it was on two skewers, both came with stuffed baked potato and steamed broccoli. They give you nice sized portions also. The best part of the meal was our dessert we both had fresh made strawberry crepes, they were great. The service was good she kept our beverages filled at all times.Prices are about average.We might have to go back and try there Sunday brunch sometime. read more

So dimly lit it took several minutes to adjust my eyes. --maybe that explains the lack of service? The servers couldn't see me. ...maybe. My wife and I eat here on a regular basis, tonight my wife received an over done steak and ice cold side of mushrooms, it was a busy night so our waiter Caleb was no where in site, I switched dinners with my wife and I ate the over cooked steak. When our waiter did show up after the meal was somewhat finished I told him what the issue was. He brought us a box and gave us our Full bill, this pissed me off, he saw the over done steak yet still did not remove it from our bill. We will no longer frequent this restaurant if restitution is not made, we are regular customers and this waiter knows that!! Went for lunch around 3 :30 pm and there were 3 at the bar and 3 occupied tables. We had to wait to be seated for awhile. I did notice there were at least 2 servers for the 4 occupied tables. Our server was a friendly young girl but she struggled to know the special of the day, price and weight of the salmon serving. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Upon arrival, we were warned about how hot the plate was and the contents. We soon discovered the mushrooms were cold and uncooked....a huge disappointment since it was 4 small, stuffed mushrooms for $14. The salads then came and they were quite fresh and the dressing was good. Hot bread was also served, but it was only warm on one end....we were told it was fresh out of the oven. Then the salmon came for both of us and it was lukewarm and the baked potato I had was very old and shriveled. The other plate was asparagus and it was lukewarm and very tough. All in all, this place was a huge disappointment. I have eaten here before and the food was very good. I think someone needs to know our experience and hopefully no one else will have this same experience. read more

So..... we are no longer young. We both have fully functional and accurate taste buds. We have been eating at restaurants for many, many decades in all parts of this country and the world. I can say, without any reservation that the Prime Rib we get at CC is the best we have had anywhere. It is generous, cooked exactly right, aged, no doubt to develop that robust beefy flavor. To make this gustatorily experience better, the Prime is so tender you really do not even need a knife to cut it. We would go for the Prime even if nothing else was served. Not the case, we had some spinach concoction and a blue cheese grit creation. We also had a baked potato that was a monster with sour cream and stuff. It was not one of those fluffy air filled yuppy things. This was substantial, starchy potato like we used to get back in the day. Cannot say enough about the food ad CC. We were in town with family to celebrate my son's graduation. I called ahead to get reservations because I knew the restaurants in the area would be full due to graduation and mother's day this weekend. I was pleased to secure a table for seven. When we arrived they had our table ready and our friendly host sat us immediately. The restaurant was dimly lit and beautiful. Our waitress got us started with drinks while we waited on everyone to arrive. We started with calamari and mozzarella sticks. I loved the calamari so much that I forgot to try the cheese sticks. I was getting filled up on the appetizer so I just ordered vegetables for dinner. I didn't feel like eating a big entree, however I did manage to snag a bite of my son's filet mignon. It was very tender. They had buttered cabbage for their vegetable special so I had that with mashed potatoes and broccoli. They were cooked perfectly and delicious. I love Copper Cellar but I was very very disappointed on Easter Sunday Buffet. We had a 1:45 reservation. Chicken tenders, spinach dip, Mac and cheese with spinach all great as usual But the potato casserole was cold. There was no regular salad. There was no cocktail sauce left in the bowl. No cheesecake left. Many items were very limited in there bowls. For paying the whole price I should have the same choices that everyone did that was there earlier that day. read more

This was decent, and it the group settles on an average 6/10 score on this salad situation. The bread is a trap, stick with the Salad options, variety of spinach really helped take this up to the 6. Strictly on the salad, the leaves were pretty CRisp, bacon on top was a wonderful touch but the cheese was just uncomfortable. We where sat, and we sat and we sat. 5 servers standing at the kitchen door way a few walked past us to bring checks and drinks t o the people near us. Not one made eye contact or unacknowledged we where there. We got up and as we where leaving I ask to talk to the manager who offered to make it right so he said. This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere The hostess sat us down and was very polite to us . We started with house salad fresh and cold just enough balsamic vinaigrette, For my entree I had a the most tender of there aged beef I chose 7 ounces which was plenty medium rare which was cooked perfectly, my sides I thought I would go with the twice baked potato which was so full of cheese and bacon , then the braised spinach which was a little spicy but very good. My dessert was a strawberry crêpe fresh crêpe wrapped around strawberries and chantilly cream with white chocolate sauce my mouth is still watering , excellent restaurant for families or just a date night. I dont know where to begin.... Celebrating our half a year mark as newlyweds, and also just in need of a romantic Friday night out to reconnect and blow off steam from the work week.... This little hidden Gem was PERFECT! The atmosphere was incredibly unique and refreshing-- very old-worldy and gorgeous warm and dim lighting, it definitely sets the mood for a romantic occasion instantaneously. The food was outstanding!! You must have their famous Crab Bisque as an app. I had their crab cakes as my entree as well. Speechless.... My husband had the grilled porkchops with mashed potatoes. You will come back JUST for that dish. It is absolutely the BEST pork and mash I've EVER had in all my 30 years on this earth. Not an exaggeration. Go see for yourself!! As for drinks-- the mixology and skill needed a bit of improvement but on the plus side, they were very strong, and thats what I want on a Friday night anyway.... We had brunch here this Sunday. I thought there would be a huge crowd, considering it was a little after 12:00 pm but we had no wait at all to be seated. It is a buffet, and at first it might seem a little pricey at roughly $18 a head, but you truly do get your money's worth. And allow me to say right here at the beginning, lest you are dismayed by the fact that it is a buffet, the food was MUCH higher quality than what you normally get at buffets. Things that were supposed to be cold were cold, things that were supposed to be hot were hot, nothing was rubbery or mushy or any sort of undesirable texture. Even the scrambled eggs! I don't know what kind of wizardry they employed to keep the scrambled eggs from getting gross, but it worked. The buffet is HUGE. There were all the standard breakfast offerings like sausage, bacon, eggs, bagels and so on. Salmon with accompaniments like capers and red onions. There was a prime rib chef station too, if that's your thing. They had stuff out for making fajitas too, which is probably the best idea for brunch ever. One plate contained fajita shrimp with onions and peppers, which I did not try, and the other was fajita chicken which sadly did not include the onions and peppers, but it was still tasty and well-seasoned. All the things that normally go on fajitas (rice, beans, guacamole, salsa, etc) were around there, too. Very decent, especially if you decide you're not much in a breakfast food mood. OH! I forgot one of the best parts: They also had a cheese plate. I think it was just brie, which is okay because brie is fabulous. Beside it were various tapenades and toasted bread on which to enjoy them. I was seriously weighing the pros and cons of just taking the whole wheel of brie back to my table with me. The buffet also had two make-your-own stations, one for omelets, and one for Belgian waffles. I didn't try either, but I love a good omelet, so I'll be back for that. There were also sweet offerings, which I didn't get to try because I was full of bacon and croissants and cheese, but that area seemed pretty popular with the other diners. As far as drinks, mimosas and bloody marys are on the menu for $5 each. Not a terrible price, especially since the mimosas were REALLY good. Our server told us that they also had make-your-own stations for mimosas too, with different juices and so on, but we were all lazy and hungover so we just had them make the drinks for us. Service was attentive, maybe a little overbearing, but I think that's better than only seeing a server twice during a meal. I would definitely recommend Copper Cellar to any brunch connoisseur in Knoxville. read more

I should preface this by saying that this review is ONLY for brunch on Sunday. I ate dinner here once a few weeks ago and wasn't really impressed at all but brunch was oh so spectacular. It was very very good. I met up with a few friends for brunch and didn't realize it was a buffet until I got there. The food is displayed nicely and there is an abundance of it. As a non meat eating person, I had a lot to choose from. They have a made to order omelette bar , as well as a waffle making station that was fantastic. Both the breakfast and lunch items were served at the ideal temperature. Salad, pasta, a roast beef station, breakfast meat, biscuits and gravy. You name it, they had it. It really was just an amazing buffet. Which means a lot coming from someone who usually avoids buffet style meals. Our waiter was attentive andt filled our glasses as quickly as we emptied them. Which was a lot of work cause we had a party of 10. It cost $17.99 a person, which was very very appropriately priced, given the variety of food they had available. I will be back to Copper Cellar for brunch as often as I can. It was a wonderful experience and absolutely worth every penny. read more

When in Knoxville, I usually go to copper cellar for their Sunday brunch. It is always a great choice for brunch buffet while in Knoxville. As usual, as with any buffet, it is so damn easy to overeat. & I managed to meet that expectation yet again! I always opt for the omelet station, & I got my usual favorite with sausage cheese onions mushrooms etc.. They always do a great job because they make the omelets fresh to order. But of course there are many selections including prime rib, which was really delicious, & a whole bunch of other things like mac and cheese, sausage and gravy, bacon, sausage, etc. Ad nauseum. I saw that they had a whole selection of desserts, but since I suffer from heartburn which is triggered via sweets, I usually tend not to go there but they did look delicious. The service is always excellent with a very nice cozy atmosphere. All of this for $19 a person, which does include at least some soft drink or something like that, and they do offer mimosas and Bloody Marys. But I did not get any alcoholic beverage this time so I really don't know if that was included in the bill. For $19 a person this is an incredible deal and I highly recommend copper cellar for Sunday brunch! read more
