I LOVE this place!!! Definitely a gem in Appleton! The coffees shop is super spacious and with super high ceiling (maybe you call this a loft style? no sure...) but the decoration is super cute and they have both booth and tables. There are enough room between tables so you don't feel suffocated while staying there either talking or working. Didn't try their coffee, but the gelato and sobert tastes like heaven! the peanut butter one is pretty unique! and you can get as many flavors in a small cup as you want!!!!! I basically fit a little of everything in my cup. Tiramisu and strawberry shortcake tasted awesome too! super moisturized cake and smooth cream. yummmmmmm read more

I come here quite often for coffee and lunch. Sandwiches, quiche and soups are good. The coffee sits in urns, though. I would recommend the London fog latte. Takes a while to prepare, but is delicious and made to order. Copper Rock's staff is friendly and works efficiently. The ambience here is what I would describe "stock coffee shop" noise. The couches and chairs in the front are nice and comfy, but watch your head if you sit in the brown chair. Knocked my dome a couple times on the shelf above it. The only thing that brings my rating down to 4 instead of 5 is the lack of outlets. If you need to charge something, and it's busy, you better hope that the handful of outlets aren't being used. I do like this place a lot though, and it is a very nice place to work and read. I will definitely keep coming back. read more

Loved the ambiance when I first walked in. Was surprised by all of the seating. Very sweet girl at the front desk. I wish I had more time to sit down and eat something off the food menu. All the food and pastries looked great. I would have loved to try the Aphrodisiac Cake. I heard the woman behind me in line telling her friends about it. I got a pumpkin spice latte with almond milk and it was great. Came out quick and i was on my way. Would definitely come back if I lived around here. read more

I used to love the quiet vibe here, but it's definitely become a bit too infested with either business-y people or teenagers who want to pretend they live in a bigger city than Appleton. After spending my college days near Chicago, the feel is a little too conservative for me, but the clean aesthetic is still nice. Amazing service, with one of the friendliest staffs around. Too many businessdudes at lunch, too many high school kids at night. Seriously - I either feel like I'm a decade too old or too young whenever I go here. (Although I felt like that when I was IN high school, too, so maybe it's just me.) It gets super busy and sometimes you have to fight for a chair, which is so not worth it. Soups and sandwiches are OK, but overpriced. Ditto the drinks. There are lots of better, cheaper, and quieter coffee shops in Appleton, and I'm not really sure why Copper Rock is so popular. Try Atlas (down by the river), Brewed Awakenings, Harmony, or the coffee shop inside Conkey's Bookstore instead. read more

I think what I like the best about this place is the actual space. Staff was nice and it was a quiet place to sit and talk. Roomy, high ceilings and a nice layout. I met up with my book buddy at this place for a quick coffee before we went to a meeting and he had green tea and I ordered a cafe mocha. The mocha was much too sweet for me (that's saying a lot because I have a sweet tooth!) with too much whipped cream. My friend did like his tea a lot so I am not counting this place as a total loss. I think I will order something else next time, perhaps straight up coffee or a latte and see how that works out. read more

Very cool atmosphere. I love coming to this place, and I hope to do so more this fall. There's plenty of seating, including a dining room, bar top tables, booths, and a smaller area up front that's a step down with cushioned furniture. I've heard it can get pretty busy, and with only one register the line can get fairly long, however the times I've been here were in the late morning during the week, and I've always been able to walk right up to place my order! As long as you time it right you shouldn't have a problem, and I would suggest checking it out if you're looking for a new place to grab a coffee. read more

Checked out this place this morning for some breakfast and coffee. They only really have sandwiches and wraps on the menu so don't expect much more breakfast options. That being said we had an egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. It was great! Definitely fresh croissants and they really put some love into it. Went here for the first time this Monday morning. I was greeted by Rowan who suggested drink options for me and directed me to the different menus. I ordered a pineapple coconut smoothie and Rowan, an outstanding employee brought it to me while I was in the sitting area focused on my studying. That was unnecessary because it was my task to get my smoothie, yet Rowan went above and beyond to bring it to me. The smoothie was as excellent as the service. I was only in here for 10 minutes, but was impressed by the live piano player, delicious coffee and beverages (they have like 7 kinds of chai !!!!!!! ), and delicious treats. We popped in here for a breakfast, thinking it was a tiny coffee house. But this place has a lot of room! Our coffees, iced americano, mocha, and iced latte, were really good! We also all got breakfast sandwiches...you got a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, on a croissant or a bagel, and a selection of cheeses. They all came out great....definitely freshly made. The staff is super friendly and totally deserve the tips that you hopefully contribute to in the tip jar on the counter. If I lived here, it would be my go to local coffee shop! read more

However, we brought some friends to check out the old homestead and decided to stop in here for a little mid-afternoon snack. I just recently moved from Neenah to Downtown Appleton, and even though Appleton isn't far from Neenah, I have never explored Downtown Appleton. I used to go to Timshell café all the time when I lived in Neenah, so today an old friend and I decided to catch-up at this café. The moment I walked in I was in love. The appearance of the café is beautiful and very cozy. It's cute and gives off a chill vibe. It was busy when I went and loud, but I was still able to focus in on my friend and hear our conversation just fine. Not only was the look of the café stunning, they also had some vegan food options! I tried the Veggie Humus wrap and dairy-free gelato. Both were tasty! I also saw a flaxseed, peanut butter bar when I was there but I'll have to try that next time I go Of course, I also got a drink while I was there. I tried the Hazlenut Latté with almond milk. That Hazlenut Latté was one of the best(if not the best) I have ever had! If you aren't a coffee drinker no worries, they also have smoothies, coffee-free drinks, and tea! Next time I go, I will definently be trying the tea along with that peanut butter, flaxseed bar! I have tried every coffee house in downtown Appleton so I feel like I can truly accurately review them. I went to Copper Rock recently as I needed to sift though about 200 pages of decently light reading on Americanization of Globalization. Had one of their Caramel frappés. It was delicious. More coffee than most places, which made me very happy. The girl who took my order was incredibly friendly and they even bring your drink to the table if you're eating/drinking in. Very nice. The cup my frappé was in wasn't too exciting, but I commend them for not using foam cups for dine-ins. At least they're eco-friendly! My only quip is that the atmosphere was so-so. It wasn't cozy like I want a coffee house to be. It felt very business-y. I suppose this reflected the fact that there are many businesses nearby. However, I would go back again. There's a really high copper ceiling, nice colors, comfortable booths, and comfortable couches and armchairs near the front window. I ordered some kind of blended frozen mocha, so I can't comment on the actual coffee, but my drink was tasty. If you're gluten-free, beware the sugar-free chocolate syrup though, it contains wheat; that said, the staff was super accommodating it letting me read labels of various mixes and syrups they use in different drinks there. read more

This is my favorite place in Appleton to camp out for the day and do homework. The only reason I go to Starbucks more is because I seem to always have a gift card, so I can't justify going to Copper Rock every day because of the expense. On weekends, there is often amazing live music, which I adore. The hot chocolate here is a little too chocolate-y for me (is that possible?), but there are a lot of great tea and smoothie options. Even though I am not a coffee drinker, Copper Rock has definitely got me covered in the beverage category. I can't reliably rate the food, because I don't come to Copper Rock for a meal; I come here for a hot drink (or mango smoothie, if it's hot out), free wi-fi, and maybe some of that lovely aforementioned live music. This place is quintessential Appleton. Come here with a friend for coffee or lunch or come here with your laptop to get work done! read more

Drove five miles past many other restaurants and was not disappointed. Menus are on the left as you approach the line. Order at the register, get a number and seat yourself. I ordered the pumpkin spice blended latte - very good. My adult kids ordered: Pesto turkey sandwich, bagel breakfast sandwich with bacon &egg, and veggie sandwich (not breakfast). Of the three my favorite was the pesto turkey. Chase rated his bagel sandwich an 8; Tristan rated his turkey pesto an 9; and Kera rated her veggie wrap and peach smoothie an 8. Both boys rated chocolate muffins a 10. Real plates/silverware and nice, big paper napkins along with the warm atmosphere and reasonable prices ($30 for everything) allow me to give this location five stars. read more

Copper Rock is in a large windowfront property on College Ave. I wouldn't call it cozy, per se since the ceilings are high and the place feels drafty. However, if you are looking for a local coffee shop to study, get together, etc. this is a nice local joint to do so. read more

My favorite place to grab lunch. Coffee is outstanding no matter what you get. Last time I got the s'mores coffee and it was delicious. Tried the chicken ceaser wrap and wasn't my favorite but the tortellini soup made up for it!! The best thing on the menu I must say is the chicken pesto sandwich or panini or whatever it may be. SO good. Great atmosphere too. I bring anyone who visits from out of town here as well. Must try, you will be hooked. read more

I often end up waiting for the food a long time because the cashier has to wait till the line goes down to make it. They need at least four employees.
