Overall, our experience was okay, but unfortunately it wasn't quite what we had hoped for. We specifically wanted our wedding photos to feel very candid and natural, capturing the little in-between moments and emotions throughout the day. Instead, a lot of the focus was on posed and portrait-style photos, so we felt like many of the candid moments we were hoping to have captured were missed. We were also surprised that a replacement photographer was sent to photograph our wedding without us knowing beforehand. Since we had chosen our photographer based on her work and style, we would have really appreciated being informed about the change ahead of time. During the wedding, we also didn't feel completely confident that the replacement photographer knew exactly what we were looking for. There are definitely photos from our gallery that we love and are grateful to have, but overall, the experience and final collection didn't fully match the candid style and expectations we had going into our wedding day. read more

Hiring Melina was the best thing that we did for our wedding. For background, we decided to secretly elope in February, shoot our engagement pics in April, and finally have our wedding in September. From the start, Melina was so kind and informative and she helped us create a plan from the start. On the day of our elopement, she picked the perfect spot for our first look, and she guided us through the entire photoshoot. We didn't know how to pose but Melina was on it! She got to know our family and was very kind with them too. After our photoshoot, we were impatiently waiting for our gallery and Melina sent a few previews our way. All I can say is we were in AWE of how beautiful she captured us and our families. Melina is also incredible at being so receptive to feedback and editing requests. Of course we compensated her for her time, but she was able to edit our gallery in a different tone at a reasonable price and turnaround time. We then hired her for our engagement shoot, which was perfect! She got to know more about or posing style there as well and the DTLA backdrop was perfect! Melina knows the best spots for shoots. The beautiful engagement pictures were used in our wedding website and our families loved our pictures so much they were moved to tears. Finally, the big day arrived! We had two locations that day: a chapel by the beach known as Wayfarer's Chapel, and a DTLA tropical-esque venue known as Millwick. Going from airy, daylight, whimsical to a more romantic moody vibe was a challenge in itself. Melina heard our requests and delivered the gallery of our dreams. She put together a mood board that helped us see her vision and also was super great throughout the year as we sent her our own IG posts, pinterest pics and so on. We were recommended Melina through a family friend because she did their engagement photos and we loved how they turned out, so my now husband and I decided to reach out for her to do both our engagement shoot and our wedding photography for our June 29, 2024 wedding. In the beginning shortly after we had booked with Melina she was very responsive and engaged very easily and our engagement shoot came out wonderfully. We did have to wait about two weeks for the photos, but we kind of expected a wait just because there were so many photos that she had taken. Fast forward to our June wedding and she and a second shooter arrived on time and were very thoughtful throughout the entire wedding, engaged easily with us and our guests and we thought everything was lovely. The issue arises after the wedding. We had not heard from Melina following the wedding until we reached out beginning of September. We were told that the time frame was about two months from the wedding date, which was reflected in our contract, but that she was running late. My husband reached out on September 13th and got a prompt callback, where she told him that the photos would be ready by September 18th. We waited another week past that date, and then began contacting her several times past the 18th, through email, phone, social media, and texting, and as of this review, nearly four months past our wedding date, we have not seen a single photo, proof, or any evidence of photos. She has not responded in a month to any of our attempts to contact and is now in breach of contract. I hate to leave a one star review because I know that she is a business owner however at this point both my husband and I are incredibly anxious and frustrated over the lack of communication because honestly the photos from our engagement were beautiful. We're hoping that she is able to contact us shortly and if she's able to, and we're able to see our photos, I will be more than happy to update this review. Until then I cannot recommend her services. read more

I am so glad I have finally found our family's lifetime photographer, Melina to document every special event. Our family has worked with two- previous photographers and we were in hunt of a photographer that would work with our families' needs. We were looking for a lifetime photographer that was bilingual, patient with our two- toddlers and finally easy- going to capture every member's personality. Once I collected myself, she was very understanding of situation and calmy lead the family members to a location, I did not know was accessible. I really was pleased that she was assertive when she had to be, such us by telling us the position she wanted the family members to be photographed. All my family members were pleased with her charm and were all comfortable to be themselves. I really liked that she took different photos of all the family members and at the end we had a variety of photos that ranged for individual, familial and with the hubby. My partner and I were looking for a long while for a photographer whose work examples would be similar to what we wanted to capture our photos. We found Melina on Instagram and absolutely fell in love with her work! We emailed her and immediately received a response on her offers on packages and she gave concise information if we wanted to book and we booked a date!
