I was new to Pilates so she was really great the first class since it was only four of us she was able to pay a little more attention to my form etc which was very nice of her . I was impressed with how sore I was the following day , I work out 5-6 times a week with a trainer but this class really focuses on all those hard to reach areas like inner thighs , core . The studio is beautiful and very clean , the staff is warm and welcoming . I travel all the way from the north shore of Long Island to join these classes , that's how much I enjoy them ! Their late policy is absolute: arrive even one minute past your class time and you will be locked out and charged -- no exceptions, including unforeseen circumstances. They do not answer their phone and do not accept voicemail, so there is no way to reach anyone in real time if something goes wrong. If you have time blindness, executive function challenges, ADHD, Cptsd, or a highly sensitive nervous system, this studio is not designed with you in mind. It is not trauma-informed, and the environment does not accommodate neurodivergence in any meaningful way. For those who need consistency and predictability, it's also worth knowing they have modified the traditional hot yoga sequence -- so what you practice here may not be what you expect. The waitlist system is also poorly communicated; you may not know you've been moved from a class you reserved until it's too late to plan around it. Beyond logistics, the atmosphere feels cold and unwelcoming -- though I'll leave it to others to determine how much of that is the studio versus the region. This studio is BUSINESS FOCUSED rather than CUSTOMER focused, which contributes to the stressed, unfriendly state of the world today. There are wonderful yoga communities out there that lead with warmth and genuine flexibility. This one, in my experience, is not among them.

My favorite part is the different types of classes you can take, so it's not just original hot yoga but other types as well along with HIIT of course! This makes it fun to switch it up and also take a couple of classes in a row if you wanted, since they schedule different ones back to back. Another hugeeeee plus for me is that they have early morning classes and late at night if you slept through the morning ones like I often do LOL (along with late morning/ mid day, early evening etc). Additionally, the staff is nice & welcoming and I oftentimes see instructors paying extra attention/TLC to newcomers If you're a hot room lover then deff come to Yoga Freak ASAP!!!!

I was apprehensive to join a gym or committ to any type of fitness but I was ashamed at how out of shape I was. So I joined APE fitness in May and have been loving every class since then. The owner, Alba is just the sweetest. I took my first class with her and she is pure energy and fun. She eased me into the moves and now I can do what I never thought possible. Zumba is very fun and exhilarating. I walked out of my class last night dripping in sweat and i've lost about 15 pounds! It's worth your money and especially your time because you will love the fitness classes here. Everyone is very amiable and you won't feel uncomfortable working out with these friendly people. So come on in and let's zumba!

The studio design is super sleek and modern and their front desk staff is helpful and friendly. I'm in pretty decent shape since I workout regularly, but I was gasping for breath in these classes. I've taken both their Bands and their Dance classes and they are legitimately hard. Their instructors are upbeat, the music is great and the choreography is on point, which is what keeps me coming back! But if you are a beginner and/or are working on getting in shape, you likely will be very discouraged by these classes. I'm giving 4 stars because of the following: -I'm used to fitness classes where the instructors will offer modifications for certain exercises, but haven't found that to be the case at AKT. -No designated changing area (I have to awkwardly change clothes in the bathroom stall) -The lockers are really tiny and don't fit much of your stuff. I'm so happy I've finally found my yoga home :) The studio is so beautiful, plant filled, and smells absolutely amazing. BK has curated such a thoughtful space that you instantly melt into as soon as you climb up the stairs. She offers a variety of classes for all levels and every teacher I've had has been so lovely and helpful. You can create a little mini retreat on Sundays (they offer a series of classes you can take back to back if you want a nice reset). Sacred Ground is my favorite Sunday class. It's a nice mix of movement and meditation. I typically take Open Flow classes Monday and Wednesday mornings which are perfect for all different levels. I had taken a pause from yoga during pregnancy/postpartum and BK was able to assess my current level and offer really thoughtful adjustments each class to help me in my practice. If you're looking for a thoughtful, community-focused yoga practice that honors your body, mind and spirit, BK:ONE is the perfect place.
