Phillip is extremely friendly, smart and fast. I dropped off an IMAC 27 which was eight and a half years old. It would not start up, so I assumed I would need a new computer because of the age of mine. Phillip said I might not but I decided to get a new one anyway and dropped it off at his shop an hour after dropping my old one off. At nine AM the next morning he called me and said yes my hard drive was toast ( my term not his) and that he had been able to salvage all of the data and had already loaded it all into my new computer. Amazing service! Also a very reasonable price. It sure beats trying to get things done at the Apple Store and is a lot easier than going to the mall. Phil is fabulous. If you own a mac, this is your guy. He is honest, capable, and reasonably priced. I have a one year old mac book, and Apple invalidated my warranty because of 'liquid contact indicator'. This is after I drive one hour to the Berkeley Apple store..... Yelp sent me here (thanks guys) and I was not let down. Phil is polite, professional, and overall knows his stuff. I thought my mac was slow because it's a few years old, but Phil knew within minutes exactly what was going on with it. What I appreciated the most was that he printed out a sheet with all the costs clearly labeled, and let me know exactly where my money was going. That's something that is rare these days. He also answered all of my questions, and made me feel confident to leave my mac with him. He told me it would take him two days, but he ended up calling me the next day to tell me it was done! Phil is the nicest person imaginable. I just took my laptop in this morning because my DVD player stopped working. Phil estimated the repair to be about $150, and I was ready to have him do the work. Lately I have been having issues with my Mac and have been visiting the Apple Genius Bar quite a lot....on the last visit, the Genius Bar guy recommended that I go to Core Help to have my problem solved and save some money. I was ready to give up on my Mac book. It was old (around from 2008 or so) and multiple things weren't working on it- it wouldn't turn on unless plugged in, the mouse wasn't working, when it was turned on it went back to the year 2000... etc. I decided to see how much it would cost to fix it. My Googling brought Core Help to my attention. I emailed Phil on a Sunday night and Monday morning he called me and told me to bring the laptop by. I dropped off the laptop the next day for him to look at it and he told me to expect an update in a few days. THE NEXT DAY he called me and told me what was wrong with my laptop and the price to fix it. I could not believe how cheap it was to fix ALL of the issues my computer was having. Definitely a lot cheaper than buying a new Mac and even cheaper than buying a new pc! He had it fixed by Tuesday the next week. He even cleaned the outside of the laptop! My hard drive on my iMAC died and I needed the hard drive replaced and data to be migrated to the new drive. I called multiple MAC repair places to compare prices. CoreHelp was the most reasonable. CoreHelp ROCKS!! I just recovered the last 2 years of my life (and my kids lives) in photos that I thought were gone! I had spent 2 days at the mall at the Apple Store trying to recover my iphoto library thanks to some bogus advice I had gotten from a previous "genius", my external photo hard drive wasn't backing up properly as I thought it had been to my time machine hard drive. Phil was able to show me within the first 5 minutes of walking in to the store that my pictures were recoverable. He also set up my time machine to back up my external photo hard drive which they were not able to do at the Apple Store. Not only is he totally knowledgable, but he is affordable and kind as well! If I ever have another issue with my mac, I will skip the geniuses at the Apple store and go directly to Phil, the real genius at Core Help!
