My boyfriend & I come here at least once a week, because it's the only fast casual place where we eat when we don't feel like cooking. We always order a combination of the following: + YANG YUM CHICKEN KFC: I've ordered the sauce on the fried chicken or on the side, and both options are delicious! + PA DAK: Scallion plain fried chicken, where there is a whole entree of fried chicken topped with a lot of shaved scallion paired with a sweet honey mustard sauce. I don't think you can order this at any other Korean restaurant in the area. If you are a fan of onion, I would definitely recommend. It is tangy, salty, sweet, and very flavorful! + COREANOS BOWL: This is a pretty plain bowl with onions and carrots, plenty of sauce, and your choice of meat. It is the perfect takeout meal, and my friend orders this weekly. + KIMCHI FRITAS & CHICKEN POPPERS are perfect for your guilty pleasure snacking cravings! + KIMBAP: Their kimbap is packed with plenty of lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and topping of choice. We got the kimchi fritas and four tacos: miso chicken, kalbi, spicy pork, and bulgogi and loved everything except for the miso chicken. The good: - Wide selection of meat, with a vegetarian option (spicy tofu). Favorites were the kalbi and the spicy pork - More than just tacos - they have quesadillas, kimchi fried rice, kimchi fritas (french fries), and kimbap - Their fries are AMAZING on their own, even if you don't get one covered in kimchi/egg. Perfect ratio of crispy outside to soft inside The could-be-better: - The corn tortillas were really disappointing, had the mouthfeel of cardboard, and detracted from the overall taco - The slaw was unimaginative compared to other Korean tacos we've had - I'd love to see more creativity there (kimchi slaw seems like a low-hanging fruit) - The miso chicken was dry and tasteless - it could easily be remedied with a sous-vide preparation and a little more miso/salt. I was in Allson this afternoon and decided to sample a few of the divey restaurants there. This is a really humble place but the tacos are outstanding. I tried their spicy pork and sweet bulgogi beef tacos. Both were outstanding. I personally preferred the flavor of the beef taco. They are also very reasonable $3.50 each and I think 2-3 would be enough as an afternoon meal. There are some stools and tables in the restaurant but most patrons only come here to take out. The food here is so good! A unique twist on traditional korean cuisines with a Mexican influence! The chicken poppers are exceptional and so are the kimchi fries! I love how I can order both fries and a rice dish because not many other places can satisfy both my cravings! My boyfriend and I typically get the chicken coreanos bowl, kimchi fritas, and chicken poppers. Although they all taste amazing, getting the kimchi fritas is a must! It has a delicious sauce and a sunny side up egg on top. Moreover, all the dishes are consistently flavorful. Last weekend we decided to try something different so we ordered the korean fried chicken in the yang yum flavor. This was the only item that didn't exceed my expectation. I've definitely had better korean fried chicken at BonChon and Crave. The yang yum seasoning was underwhelming and I definitely wouldn't get it again. Coreanos is right on Brighton Ave by which you can find street parking or walk a short distance to the train stop. I ended up here on a Tuesday afternoon. The place is small, but it was early enough where there were plenty of free seats. I ordered the Tofu taco and garlic soy wings. I enjoyed both, ESPECIALLY the tofu taco. I've never even had a tofu taco until that day, and it's definitely going to become my new thing. I love the food here! I've gone like 10 times but have never left a review. I would recommend trying the tacos, frites, and the coreanos bowl at some point in your life. If you've never had korean/mexican fusion, you're really missing out. The tastes from the two cultures go hand-in-hand. The portions are decent for the price. I sometimes go here for a single taco when I'm broke, and I'll feel pretty full. I also won't feel guilty afterward, like I do when I eat from McDonald's. Coreanos is Boston's answer. It's a tiny hole in the wall, but it packs a flavorful punch. Coreanos specializes in Korean street food, such as Korean Fried Chicken, Tteok-bokki (spicy, stir-fried rice cakes) and Kimbap (rice, pickled vegetables, and beef, etc. rolled in dried seaweed lavers). In this regard, Coreanos is basically BonChon with a more limited menu. However, there is one key difference, and that's the Coreanos' trademark fusion dishes, e.g. Bulgogi Tacos, Kimchi Quesadilla, and Kimchi Fries. The Bulgogi Taco combines the savory-sweet flavor of marinated Korean beef with the tangy medley of Mexican taco. The juices of Bulgogi, soy-ginger slaw, sauces, lime, and jalapeños form a delectable fusion. If you want an extra kick, try it with Spicy Pork. The Kimchi Fritas is also delicious. I don't know who first dreamed up the idea of mixing French Fries with Kimchi, but it was a stroke of genius (or maybe I'm just Korean and think everything tastes better with Kimchi). The sizzling grease and saltiness of the cheesy fries balanced by the piquancy of kimchi, and topped with runny egg, fresh scallions, and sesame seeds... Yum. I absolutely love Coreanos and always seem to have a craving for it. The food is quite unique as it is a Mexican-Korean fusion and it is really flavorful and tasty. I love the chicken poppers as well as the bulgogi Coreanos bowl with an extra egg on top. I have never once been disappointed by the food. The only thing to note is that the establishment is quite small and if they are busy, it will be hard to find seating especially if you are with a large group. I typically get the food to take-out and the nice Korean lady that owns the establishment is always nice and has a smile on her face. Coreanos provided me with exactly that with their kimchi fried rice; it was so amazing. The food here was very tasty. However, the Kalbi entree (from the grill) is a TINY portion and not worth the $20 price. In comparison, Kim's Tofu which is a couple doors down the street, serves a huge amount of Kalbi for $25. I would rather pay 25% more for a much, much larger portion. It's interesting that there are about 500 photos of food at Coreanos, and none of them seem to be about the Kalbi, unless it's in a taco or other dish. One of the best meals I've ever had, hands down. I've seen a lot of Korean-Mexican fusion in my day--enough so that I have a general disdain for many of the trendy fusion places I see nowadays, but Coreanos really felt like a cut above. I got the Kimchi Quesadilla w/Bulgogi Beef and split a Kimchi Fritas with my friend. The Kimchi Quesadilla, in a way, tasted exactly as you might expect from the description. It's sort of a cross between a quesadilla and a kimchi pancake, but with Korean-flavored meat inside. They stuff it very generously with meat, cheese, and kimchi, which I greatly appreciated. The cheese was delicious, the bulgogi held its own flavor. and there was plenty of kimchi to give you a home-y feeling without becoming overpowering. Even though the tortilla and cheese were the only Mexican components, the idea and execution of this fusion dish made the ingredient combinations feel super intuitive and natural. For $7.95, you're getting unbelievable value in the pure quantity food that they give you, so having such top-notch quality is a huge cherry on top. At most places, the Kimchi Quesadilla would be enough of a highlight to write home about, but the real highlight was the Kimchi Fritas. I'm willing to go as far as to say that they were the best fries I've ever had. At least, I literally cannot remember anywhere else that has better fries. The fries themselves are perfectly crispy and firm, without being too hard, which already put them above 99% of fries I've ever had. But the cheese/scallion/sauce combination on top of them really gives them a unique flavor that is entirely complementary. Unlike a lot of topped fries, the toppings did not generally cause the fries to get soggy or clumped up. The cheese, which I think is pretty similar to what's in the quesadilla, was delicious again, and the kimchi pairing with the fries is very interesting. The kimchi wasn't wet or anything that would affect the integrity of the fry structure, so it was fun getting bites where your chopsticks are holding together a strip of kimchi with a fry. The egg in the middle is kind of confusing to deal with--I'd suggest flipping it upside down and just letting the egg get everywhere, and then using the egg itself as a sort of wrap to finish what's left at the end (dessert, perhaps?). So with this place, we have the best fries I've ever had, and an incomparable fusion dish between 2 of my favorite cuisines that stands out in an already overcrowded space. My friend got kimbap and that was really good as well. And I don't even like kimbap. If you're not convinced after this review that you should go here, I can't help you. I can't imagine myself being in the area and not trying to come back. Coreanos definitely makes my top 5 favorite restaurants in the country as of right now (to get a sense of scale for that, I'm currently at 1175 (non-unique) check-ins on Yelp). read more

The food is Korean - Mexican fusion, which has been sweeping the country like an epidemic. The chicken poppers dish is great! A bed of french fries with fried popcorn chicken on top drizzled with delicious sauces and garnishes. There is only street parking outside their store and they are always taken but when I've done takeout orders, I've double parked right outside their restaurant. I do not eat any spicy foods but their food is perfectly seasoned and not that spicy. The only thing I was not too much a fan of was the korean fried chicken. Best Kimbap in Boston and around - hands down!! Been here multiple times for quick lunch on weekends, and they never disappoint so far. Despite their humble, tiny spot, Coreanos cooks some of the best Korea dishes I've had in the city. Their Kimbap is bold, flavorful and generous - my favorites will be the spicy pork and bulgogi. The dipping sauce is also different from some other establishments, and it gives a nice salty - sour balance to the meal. Additionally, we also often order their Kimchi Fried Rice - which is also great. If you're not a fan of fiery spicy fried chicken, they also have their signature Korean Fried Chicken, "Padak" style - they put generous heapings of scallions and pour fresh sweet & sour citrus-y sauce that is really refreshing and unique. Definitely a must try! They also have a very efficient mobile ordering system too if you decide to have your order to-go. I've came here twice and both times were good. I got the galbi taco and my bf got the spicy pork. The were both good but i like galbi the best as person preference.
