Beautiful location and space. Unfortunately, my daughter had her babysitting money stolen out of her bag that she left in the change room cubby. It was her fault for leaving it there but it was way down in her bag at the bottom inside a zippered wallet. Somebody had time to go through not just her bag , but everyone else's too. The clients are all in the yoga class so who has time to search bags?? The girls were sweet and said they offer keys to lock the cubbies but it was my daughter's first time there and she said no lock was offered to her. The lockers should have keypads to lock them for each client. It is not always convenient to leave our valuables locked in our car. The girl at the desk said cash has been stolen before. Hmmm. Not very pleasant experience and someone is searching bags long enough to steal and nobody notices them. Get lockers with locks. read more

I've only attended one class here, but I appreciate that this location has two rooms, as my regular studio only has one. The locker room's set up is a bit strange, but overall serves the necessary purpose and is kept clean. i am so thankful this yoga studio opened up next to my home. i have never been excited to go to a gym or put my work out in. however, yoga really has transformed me, and i cannot wait to take a class. i have been to different locations (i have the black tag, which is soooo worth it). this location (although small), is very clean, with nice service. most instructors are amazing, and all are good. i love the selection of clothes, and have to admit i have splurged. i hope it stays small, and they limit the number of black taggers, since i can see the rooms are filling up more and more each time i go. thanks for having a great service for me!! read more

Great yoga and studio.

I have never done Yoga Sculpt so I was excited to check it out. I am currently taking advantage of the free week trial so I cannot speak on the monthly membership and deals. However, from my observation there was a great deal on apparel and holiday packages advertised. What I can tell you is the class is awesome! It was fun and without realizing it at the time I managed to work some kinks out in my back. The instructor was fun, comical, and not overly demanding for position perfection. The class was made up of all walks of life from all ages. If you plan to come to a class on weekend be sure to get there early. There are way to many stores and restaurants and not enough parking spaces in the plaza to accommodate, so account for that as well. read more

Came here with a friend to do the C1 class. It's a beautiful place with clean showers and locker area. The yoga studio was clean and spacious (it wasn't crowded at all when I went), with a nice peaceful ambience. The instructor was very nice, with a soothing voice. My only complaint is that I wish she could have shown us each move as we did them. She showed us how to do a few moves, but being a first timer, I was a little confused at some of the directions. It was still okay as I was able to look around and see how other students were doing the moves, but it would have been nice to have a little more instruction. read more

I joined the Del Mar studio when it first opened. I was delighted that a hot studio was within minutes of my house. The studio is clean, the teachers encouraging and friendly. I love all the teachers and am stunned to find so many talented teachers in a single studio. I like the hot power fusion class, which has some similarity to Bikram. The balance poses are demanding, but give you lots of room for improvement. I also love the power vinyasa yoga classes. The classes vary depending on the teacher so you always get an excellent variety. They have a free week for locals. Give it a try. read more

My sister and I just finished up the free 7-day trial (which I 100% recommend to everyone). Throughout that week, we tried out a few CPY1, Hot Power Fusion, and Yoga Sculpt classes in this location. Every instructor we had was warm and friendly, and classes were inclusive and accommodating to different levels. My favorite class here was Yoga Sculpt--a killer workout class that mixes together yoga poses, free weights, and cardio moves! This CorePower is a small and clean space with a boutique in the lobby, a small locker room with showers, and two studios. One thing I noticed from my week here was that one studio feels substantially nicer (large windows, better ventilation, more spacious) than the other. But other than that, we had no complaints about our week! I'll probably come back to this location to purchase a few more classes. Definitely recommend it to yoga newbies like us who want to give it a try! read more

this is what I look forward to every damn day STUDIO AMBIANCE: this studio is huge with 2 class rooms, open, always clean NEVER moldy smelling, water fountains that also has an option to refill your canteen at a perfect temperature, locker room with clean showers, and cute merchandise/tools on sale. CLASSES: I started as a Bikram Yogi so i was almost anti vinyasa flow until CorePower! I love their different class options all heated: - Vinyasa Flows with integrated arm balance/inversions which they call C1 (beginner), C2 (intermediate), or C3 (advance, which is few and far between) - SCULPT: is a power flow with weights similar to a boot camp class with yoga mixed in haha - HPF (Hot Power Fusion): their "hot yoga" similar to Bikram but only 60mins with less heat (still uses the humidifier) and one set of each pose - RESTORATIVE is a stretching/lengthening class to restore the body TEACHERS: Mostly all teachers are fantastic, but my fave at this studio is ANJALI - she has a very calm and peaceful teaching style. She offers hands in adjustments which I've taken with me to every class moving forward so that I am aware of my body positioning (ie: hip alignment). I'm appreciative of all this especially when she teaches HPF! PRICE: it's a little expensive compared to a gym membership, but if you practice at least 3-4 times a week the monthly unlimited is SO worth it. They have an education (teachers/students) and military (I believe) discounts too. They have a great policy too - you can freeze your account up to 3mos and no contracted duration for your membership. #yogaeveydamnday read more

I've been to a number of CorePower studios in San Diego, and this one is the nicest I've seen. They did an excellent job with the design; it feels more like a luxury health club or spa. There are tons of options for classes throughout the day, which is key for me. I need early mornings or late evenings since I work long hours, and CPY has options to accommodate my schedule. Also, I like that your membership is good for any studio, depending on where you are and what class time/type appeals most. The instructors are incredibly approachable and friendly towards beginners. I've been practicing yoga for 5+ years, but I still feel like a beginner since I don't have the strength or flexibility to get into advanced poses. They offer modifications to suit all levels, and for those looking to take their practice to the next level, the instructions and hands-on assists are great. Yes, CPY is more expensive than some options, but for the reasons above, I think it's worth it! They offer a free week for SD residents, so seems worth a shot for anyone interested in yoga. read more

In San Diego for the next 5 days and this was the closest core power. Caught the 5:30 C2 class just like my last location. Great message from instructor and fun flow! I ended up purchasing the 5day pass because drop in rate is $25. I'm here for a softball tourney and who knows what my schedule will be like. The good thing is it doesn't expire. This studio is nestled inside the cutest little shopping center. The aura and energy is so bright and positive. I think it's bigger than the last location I was at. My favorite part of the studio oddly was the flooring in the classroom. It was like a soft, cushiony, wood floor. It was the first thing I noticed when I stepped foot into the large room. Mirrors were a little dirty and the cleaners came right in and started cleaning the floors while people were still in shavasana. Not sure how much time between class there was. I thought it was a little odd but other than that another great studio. Oh...women's bathroom/locker room was clean! read more

I just finished my first free week and absolutely loved CPY & this location! The staff/instructors were extremely welcoming and accommodating. I tried level 1.5, 2, & HPF and loved each of the classes. The instructors always offered modifications and were very encouraging. I need yoga. I don't always like it but if I go a few days without it my body lets me know. One of the many things I like about core power yoga is the variety of classes. Sculpt is a bit more than I can handle but the regular classes and high power fusion are just right. Challenging but good. Also the instructors, particularly Xuen, Grace and Jackie H. They leave their own stuff somewhere else and bring on pure yoga without distraction. The place is always clean, and offers free water to drink. There are no harsh drill sargent instructors like one finds at some 90 min classes but respectful calm voices providing a comfortable atmosphere. read more

I really gave these guys a shot - Not just the Del Mar/Solana Studio, but the whole chain. Got a one week free pass and decided to try them out. First off, none of the three teachers I visited (two at this studio, one at UTC) were very good. I hit a level 2 class and two level 1 classes, all different teachers. They were okay, but each of them had issues. One lectured some metaphoric lesson I forgot revolving around her dog for 10 minutes at the beginning, one forgot the music for the first 10 minutes and then went too fast for me to even get into a pose before we were on to the next one, I couldn't hear one of them who focused only on people she knew. But that was no big deal. I was willing to keep visiting studios until I find the right fit. The biggest problem is that I wanted to try Core Power so that I could have a number of classes to choose from each day, to accommodate my flexible and changing daily schedule. Also, I need the Level 1 classes in order to get back in shape. But this week was so depressing. Out of the 6 times I got dressed, got in my car, fought traffic on the 5 or the 805 to get to one of four Core Power Yogas in my region, I only made it to 3 classes. I was late to each of the other 3 classes, so not allowed in. 10 minutes late. Could have been spared 2 lectures. Do you realize how defeating it is to fight traffic for ONE HOUR during rush hour to go to yoga to destress and detox, only to be 10 minutes late and get turned down? I'm 50. I'm a certified yoga teacher using up 2.5 hours of my time to hit a 1 hour class. I'm trying to build up consistency and motivation. "Sorry, we have to close the doors. Liability if you don't warm up. Distraction. Mayhem." OK, I get it. I don't want people walking in late to my classes either. I love the locker rooms. I love the clean shops and the little cubes, and the people are nice, and the yoga was adequate when I got to do it. But as long as these places are right off the 5, their rush-hour classes remain inaccessible for me. Self-defeating. Too bad, so sad. :( read more

When I first joined CorePower in 2012, I was so impressed I thought I'd be a member for life! However, in the past few months I'm sorry to say things have really gone downhill with the corporate culture of making money seeming to be CorePower's #1 priority. My main issue is that while they have grown substantially, they do not limit class size - even if it means you're in such close corridors that you may be in the sweat splash zone of your neighbor! To do the poses correctly, you have to put your hands/feet on your neighbor's mat and likewise, which is very unsanitary. Granted, I attend classes during peak times (right after work around 6 PM), but it's become the norm for them to pack in as many people as possible with no care or consideration of the uncomfortable environment they create. It's not unusual for my mat to be an inch away from my neighbors' or to be unable to do normal yoga poses without smacking my neighbors with a hand or foot. For example, last week I attended a Wednesday C2 class at 6 PM (located in the smaller studio) where we were all sandwiched together so close that my neighbor's sweat was dripping onto my mat and I couldn't do several of the poses properly because there just wasn't enough space. It was ridiculous enough that I felt I should contact the studio manager. She informed me that the maximum size for that room is 45 and that the class I attended had 38 students. That room was packed mat to mat and there was absolutely NO way that another 7 people could have fit in there?! Maybe that's the room maximum according to the fire marshal, but not for people with yoga mats! I felt bad for my sister who had paid the $20 drop in fee to go with me when it definitely wasn't worth paying that much for the experience of having the guy in front of her's stinky feet an inch from her face. The manager went on to say "I have on my list to speak with my manager about further possibilities for easing the class #s, especially surrounding the 6pm's." I hope they reevaluate their values and put the quality of their members' yoga practices before quantity (and profits). They could also get a little more creative like marking off yoga mat locations (like YogaSix) and scheduling peak times classes in the larger studio. If they continue at their current pace, I'm sure I won't be the only one to drop CorePower and take my practice to a smaller studio like YogaSix or Bindu that focuses on creating a healthy, happy, and harmonious environment for its students... Bottom line - CorePower has some great amenities (nice locker room, boutique, range of class times) and a few good teachers, but the high price tag is not worth the quality anymore...especially if you get claustrophobic or are a germaphobe that doesn't appreciate such close corridors where you might get the cold/flu your neighbor has when he sneezes into your face! -1 No reasonable limits on class size -1 At end of class, they do a commercial-like advertisement for teacher training -1 Extremely expensive considering the decrease in quality and over packed classes +1 Great amenities (nice locker room, boutique, range of class times) +1 Some of the teachers are good, but can be hit or miss read more

I went at 9 am on Thanksgiving-there was one class all day, so I got there early as I knew it might get crowded. I was right-at 8:52 I told the front desk it was getting really crowded and she informed me they could fit 50 people in the room. I told her only if you were crammed together like sardines, and that it was an unsafe and unsanitary environment-especially with only one instructor. At 9:02, people were still coming in, yet everyone had been asked to move their mats closer together, and the mats were all touching each other. So...heated room, crammed in like sardines, and one instructor. Sweat flying everywhere-disgusting. Never going back. read more

This is my favorite Studio in San Diego Area. From the moment you come in, you feel like you're in hands of experienced and passionate yoga influencers. The studio itself is very clean modern vibrant and bright. There're spacious locker rooms, big shower areas, two studios with a variety of equipment. You always can rent a mat or a towel, if you don't have one, even get yourself a bottle of water, if you forget yours. Teachers are super cool strong and inspiring. I've taken so many different classes, and they were all at the top of performance , very attentive and easy-going. When I've started I didn't feel awkward or week, because they gave me a certain level of confidence and motivation to move forward with my practice. They are doing perfect. Also, I want to mention a great customer service at the front of the studio. There's always somebody who meets and greets you and helps you to answer any questions or checks in or out. First visit was 2 days ago with Sunny's Core Power 2 class at 6AM! I was greeted immediately with excitement and assured my first time visit will be worth it! I've been to many different Yoga classes in San Diego, and I was bored never felt like I got a great workout so I "gave up" on Yoga thinking it was all about stretching, UNTIL I joined Core Power Yoga!! First off, core power 2 class, I Loved! Sunny was such an amazing instructor, very encouraging!! I didn't know anything about the standard poses, but between looking at my surroundings and wonderful Sunny helping out I managed to feel like one with everyone else. (Maybe not as flexible :) ) I felt so strong after the class power ab workout, leg workout! Phew It was awesome! I also took Sculpt class and IM DEAD AS IM TYPING THIS! That is like insanity+ weight train+ yoga in an hour while sweating your buns off!! Most ridiculous workout I have ever done, but so fulfilling. Each class has made me feel so strong already, I can't imagine making Core Power a lifestyle! Everyone reminds you to remember why your there, I need those reminders sometimes because I've never pushed myself hard enough, I usually give in to my tiredness, but being reminded to remember why I'm there is GREAT! Worst experience ever! I have been practicing yoga/sculpt for several years and have never felt more uncomfortable in a studio. The front desk staff were unfriendly and rude, they did not have locks for the lockers and they exceeded capacity for the class and continued to let people into the room. The floors and mirrors inside the room were completely filthy, (this isn't the first time I've noticed this), I felt like I was going to catch a bacterial infection walking barefoot in there! Not only was the instructor incompetent and could not teach a Sculpt class with basic alignment cues she completely disregarded a student who clearly needed help and when my friend confronted her about the safety issue of having so many people in the class she said, "they will figure it out and leave". DIRTY AND NOT YOGA I normally write reviews when I am happy with a business but I had to take time out to write this and warn potential customers. First and most importantly, cleanliness is really lacking here. This is a workout place that uses heat as part of the environment so you would think they would be impeccably clean but unfortunately that is not the case. The locker room is small and cramped and although it's my fault for forgetting my shower shoes, I got a wart on my foot, painful, disgusting and super inconvenient....you do not want one of these. If they cleaned their showers with bleach that totally could have been avoided. Next, the instructor checks guests in, great opportunity to connect with a potential customer but she was rough and unfriendly. Lastly, it's not yoga. Hard core Yoga in a hot room sounded great but the instructor was not knowledgable, she barked orders at everyone, there was no flow, it wasn't yoga...it was a stretching class with a tiny instructor barking orders at you. I myself would never step foot in a Core Power Yoga again, there are too many other great exercise studios and gyms out there with clean facilities and experienced, friendly instructors. read more

I am a huge fan of CorePower Yoga! I have taken the C1, C2 and Hot Power Fusion classes. C1 is a perfect for beginners, and anyone looking for a more relaxed class with little heat. I enjoyed Hot Power Fusion as well but personally found it to be a little too hot at times. I would say C2 is a happy medium between the two and overall my favorite class. You move at a more consistent pace throughout but still leave drenched in sweat! The studio has a great sound system and the instructors are very knowledgable. I also love the shop outside of the studio and always enjoy browsing through the fun patterned leggings before my class! read more

After having a pretty horrible experience at the CorePower in Encinitas (will never go back), I was slightly hesitant to try a new Corepower. But I'm SO happy I did. I took Kim B's class and it was a live music night, which was incredibly magical. Kim is also a fabulous instructor. Made some amazing adjustments and had a great vibe. I have been doing yoga off and on for upwards of 15 years, most recently Ashtanga and Bikram. When Core Power opened literally down the hill from me, I resisted, thinking that I was a yoga "Purist." What I didn't realize is that CP has actually taken the best aspects of both of these practices and created a wonderful "Fusion" type of yoga. Definitely not for purists, but if you enjoy the heat of Bikram and the "Movement with breath" style of Ashtanga, you will undoubtedly find yourself hooked on Core Power. I leave CP feeling lighter, happier, and proceed through the next few days with a sort of clarity I can't really find words for. I also want to add in two more blurbs: One for the sculpt class, which I also resisted in the beginning, thinking that it would be unsafe and too "Group Fitnessy" for me. I was wrong on both counts. If you are scared, use the 3 lbs weights and keep it low impact. Again, you feel great afterwards and (extra credit), will burn TONS of calories while REALLY toning up your arms. My last plug is for the teaching staff and studio environment as a whole. Since they offer so many classes each day, I have rarely had the same teacher twice in the month that I have been going there. That being said, they are ALL professional, nice, and even better, NOT condescending at all. There is a happy vibe at the place. Core Power has figured out how to make a yoga studio accepting, upbeat, clean, and (more EC) aesthetically appealing. Bravo! Wish I would have thought of all of this myself! read more

Core Cardio Circuit is advertised as unheated, but at this studio, it was unbearably hot during my class. I understand the idea behind this for a hot yoga class, but for a H.I.I.T style class it seems dangerous, I wouldn't have taken it if I had known this, as I tend to be sensitive to heat and humidity. People kept walking out of the class to get out of the heat and the floors were covered in sweat during cardio drills, which again, seems like an accident waiting to happen. The instructor explained that there is a hot yoga in the same room right before this class, so there isn't ample time for the room to cool down. Seems like a no-brainer that the schedule should be tweaked a bit to eliminate this problem. I've taken straight yoga classes here and had a much better experience. The instructors are all very nice. But I would avoid the Cardio Circuit class if you're like me and looking for a HIIT style class at a reasonable temperature. read more
