Encinitas is really nice so they have a great location! Parking available on the street, womens locker area also has shower and bathroom. The hot yoga class was solid however just way too hot for me as it was at probably 105F and with the humidity, was just too much for me. I used to practice this style a lot when I was in my 20s and 30s but lately I just dont enjoy how hot it gets, and because I sweat profusely, the shift in fluid loss and electrolytes is just too much for me. I usually have a headache after classes like these and thats what happened. I think I could have preemptively assumed this would happen and down a electrolyte pack (which I had on hand) but of course suffer fools gladly haha. Instruction was good and I deeply appreciated being able to practice on xmas! Thank you Yoga Tropics for being open on xmas. Id consider coming back to a less hot class. They also have a great intro offer which is $30 for 10 classes in 1 week, so you really can't beat that! Definitely give this place a try if you enjoy Bikram level hot!

He offers options for a challenging practice if you want it (but you can take it more modified if you don't). He is knowledgeable and gives clear instructions, making it easy to follow, disconnect, breathe, and fully work your body. He is super positive and just gives off a really great vibe. The brand-new heater makes the room wonderfully sweaty, enhancing the experience. This studio is truly one of the top yoga spots in Encinitas! I highly recommend checking out this studio!

I'm not sure if they have an agreement with the gym next door or not (it wasn't advertised if they are at the yoga studio), but the yoga studio itself has no extra amenities, so you will need to bring everything, such as a sweat towel, water and all that. The yoga instruction was great, and the class was full but not crowded. It can comfortably fit about 12 people I would say, so the classes are pretty small. I started with the intermediate vinyasa class, and it was the perfect level. The studio isn't heater, but it isn't cooled either, so it can still be pretty hot. They may heat it later in the year, but in September it was 90 outside, and felt around 80 in the studio, which is just right for me. It can get pretty noisy around the studio. Since it's right in the middle of a popular shopping center, you can hear everything going on around you. During our a class, a band started playing outside which was kind of distracting. The teacher ended up turning off his music so we didn't have two different musics going, and obviously had no control of the outside music. I was able to find parking, but I could definitely see it being an issue in the future. It's in a pretty busy shopping center with a medium sized parking lot. I brought my own mat, but they did have mats, blocks and bolsters you could use. Their fees for membership right now are VERY affordable, but I think it may be an opening offer, so I'm not sure how long they will last. I came here with a Groupon, but probably will not stay after my Groupon period is over. For me, I enjoy a few of the extra amenities that this studio doesn't have.

Pros: I've been going here for a few weeks now, a couple times a week, and I've really enjoyed my classes. I've gotten to try some new stuff, it's not repetitive/formulaic at all, and the instructors are very personable and helpful. I've had one or two cramped classes but for the most part the numbers are manageable - probably about 15-20 people, max? I like the more intimate class sizes! It's also super affordable! I'm here on a Groupon, and for the quality of the class you get it's a good investment. Cons: It's right smack in the middle of everything (there's a grocery store next door as well) so it can get a little noisy outside. It's also a bit limited in terms of both class scheduling (I've had a bit of a struggle finding times that work for me) and space - there's no bathroom, for example, or anywhere to stash your stuff. One other thing I hate to point out is that the studio has that musty, people-have-done-a-lot-of-sweating-in-here smell that whacks you in the face when you first enter. You don't notice it after a couple minutes, once you're all settled in, but you do kind of have to brace yourself when you walk through the door. The gist: It's a cute little studio with some talented teachers, and I love that it's easy biking distance to my house, but I prefer something with a little more space. I'll probably go elsewhere once my Groupon ends.

Four of of us were complete beginners, and 1 more experienced and Jennifer made it work such that we all worked hard ! Jennifer is a great instructor, and also a fun party host! :). Jennifer tailored the class to our goals. She demo'd moves and adjusted our form as needed. We all got a good workout and it was a fun experience. Practicalities: The studio has 5 reformers. There is no floor Pilates or yoga in this particular studio. There are two large rooms with reformers, and the studio is bright, airy, very modern, and very clean. They offer different levels of Pilates classes, and right now, they are offering promotions to try the studio for a very minimal price. Plenty on site parking.

I also love the little altar that they have set up on the steps in between the instructor and the deck where the students are practicing. They always have it decorated with seasonal items and it's so pretty. I really enjoy the instructors. Today was Asia and she always teaches such an engaging flow. I also enjoy the classes with the live music. What I'm not a big fan of is the wellness area they have set up behind the studio in the grassy area adjacent to the yoga deck. They do cold plunge out there during the class and to be honest, I find it distracting. During today's class there was someone in the cold plunge in the beginning, fortunately that person was very quiet, but I was aware that they were back there. There have been other times when I was there when there were people in the cold plunge and they were laughing and talking while the class was going on. I get it that the studio is in the heart of Bird Rock that there is other noise from the street, from the taco shop next-door, etc. But to have the distraction in the space you are practicing in is not ideal. When I checked in at the front, the girl who had me sign the waiver asked me if I was aware that they had a wellness area behind the studio. I told her yes, and that I was not a big fan of it. She told me that they are brainstorming ways to separate that area from the front of the studio more efficiently. Hopefully they come up with some solutions!

It was my first time at the studio and I decided to go last minute with a friend. I did not have my mat with me. They did not charge me to use theirs since this was my first time. I really appreciated that detail. The space is gorgeous, beautiful studio. I'm not sure, though that the atmosphere is ideal for a Yin class with soundbath. The class that I went to was at 7 PM and the restaurant next-door was super loud and busy with crashing noises. Also in the cold plunge right behind the studio there were several people there, and it was extremely loud and kind of disruptive for the Yin practice. When you're supposed to be holding a pose for five minutes and remaining still it's hard to do so when there's loud noises around you, especially if you're easily distracted like I am. other than that everything is perfect here. I love the scents that they use and the sounds that they use very relaxing when it was quiet there were a couple times where I almost fell asleep in a pose. I also love when the seagulls fly overhead and squawk, reminding you that you're outdoors. It does get a little cold at night. It was nice to have the blanket they provide for shavasana.
