Out of all the CorePower locations on Oahu, Kahala is hands down my favorite! The studio is nice, the energy is HIGH, and every class leaves me feeling absolutely worked. And SAM. If you've taken one of his Sculpt classes, you already know. The music is next level, the workouts are challenging without feeling impossible, and he does an incredible job blending strength training, sculpt, and traditional yoga movements. You will be drenched in sweat by the end (in the best way)! What I love most is that he creates such a strong sense of community in class. He's encouraging, interactive, and somehow makes everyone want to push a little harder. Cannot recommend his classes enough. Truly one of the best instructors I've taken anywhere! I took my first class this morning because I wanted to try something new. It was my first time at the studio, for the 5 a.m. class. To the girl who checked me in: a smile and a little eye contact with a new customer are among the rare things left in this world that are still free and they can go a long way. I understand that you may not care much about earning my business since the studio is already popular and successful. But please understand that, for many people walking through the door at 5 a.m., you may be the first person they interact with that day. A simple welcoming attitude can set someone up for a good start to their morning. Being arrogant doesn't make you cooler, believe me. There are plenty of studios to choose from on this island, and I'd rather spend my money and my time somewhere I feel welcomed. read more

This location has one studio, and classes start as early as 5:45am on weekdays. Its bathroom was recently renovated, so it's new, bright, and clean. Members don't have to bring their own locks anymore with the new lockers. Overall, I think the SET and management team have done a good job of keeping the studio clean, tidy, and stocked with necessary items like disinfectant bottles, napkins, feminine products, etc. There's a shoe rack right by the entrance for you to leave your slippers at. All the instructors are humble, friendly, and very skilled. Most of them also pay attention to your form during practice, making sure you won't get injured. I really like that they offer several strengthx (45 mins) classes here. Aside from the excellent tenured instructors (Theresa, Maka, Tara, Karen, Kinau), my recommendations for Sculpt and StrengthX are: Lianne, Elizabeth, Clyde, Melissa, Sammi, Chelsea, Sammy, and Skarlett. Great place and great instructors. I was introduced by a friend and I go to the weekly community flow class. The studio is very clean and I can tell that it is sanitized before each class. Currently they are having their showers fixed and there is only one toilet. However everything is still nice and clean. They have a little shop for all your yoga needs, selling mats, towels, and clothes. I come every week and it makes me feel refreshed for the week ahead. read more

I love the classes and teachers here are fantastic and the facility is well maintained. The negative- they have a teen/buddy program to improve their mental health, however, cliques are formed and they giggle in class and/or loiter in the change room. Since there is only one studio as well, they loiter in front of the classroom and cut in front of people who were waiting long before them. When you want to practice in peace and feel welcomed and safe, it is bothersome. People pay good money to take these classes, isn't their mental health important as well? Young adults giggling during class can take away from what is very important to practitioners who enjoy and expect the benefits of yoga for the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits. I hope that management will seriously consider how these programs are implemented so that customers who are paying in full aren't effected negatively by those who do not respect others...community classes are already for free which is generous/great. read more

Great core power location in Kahala Mall. It is still kept in clean shape and parking is not too difficult to find compared to the ward location. There's only one studio at this location. However, there are classes throughout the day and they alternative the various classes. I like the CRX which is basically a 45 minute Tabata weight workout. It's not a heated class. Worst parking so be prepared to come forty five minutes before the class and Kahala if you are not familiar is packed! Kahala mall allows all their workers to park the closest so on a normal day. You are looking at finding parking esp it's Christmas you might have to walk 1 Mile or more. Don't come late door will be locked. And then they lecture you. Plus u don't get to work out... sorry come back again! They have a horrible business policy that locks members and instructors into being obligated financially to CORE power. Basically every studio that's all about money I don't agree with them spiritually or even as a business woman U turn away customers with lock-ing them into contracts and not providing a safe space to practice Yoga. Instructors are great. Amenities are well-kept and clean. Merchandise is nice; they carry Lululemon, Alo, and other brands. You do get a retail discount when you have the membership which is nice because the membership is not cheap. Lockers are free to use. Towel and mat rentals are $2 each. This location is convenient, but tricky to find. It's not in the mall, it's right outside the food court. read more

This is the second core power location on the island found in kahala mall. It is located on the back side by the movie theater on the first floor. There is lots of parking, but can be limited if it is during the busy time. You might find yourself parking somewhere further and having to walk through the mall to get here. This location is definitely a lot smaller than the ward location. It has all the same great teachers as ward, which is why I found myself here just for one of my favorites, Suzanne. The facility itself has everything that the ward location has such as merchandise to purchase, filtered water fountains, bathroom, lockers, showers, etc. There is even a cute little sit down area in the front with a couch. Note that you can borrow a lock or bring your own. Sometimes it is all taken and you won't have a lock for the lockers. The class times are all throughout the day and can be found on their app. When I went for a morning class the doors were already open, but if there is no staff to man the front desk the doors are usually locked. Definitely will come here if my favorite teachers are teaching again, but my go to place is the ward location. read more

I tried their FREE WEEK OF YOGA....and fell in love with the yoga sculpt class. I'm so hard head. I'm a gym-person. I like to move-it move-it. I don't do yoga. I like air conditioned gyms, not 100 degree studios. Kyle H kept telling me how great the yoga sculpt class was but I didn't believe her. I saw her check-ins at 6am on Saturdays and thought she must be out of her mind. I read about Nat N loving the yoga sculpt class with Juri and I completely ignored it. And then one day another friend told me "Just come down and try it out". So I came down and signed up for my free week of yoga, with no intention of coming back after the free week was over. And then it slowly happened. I took 4 classes that week and realized I wanted more. I took a beginner yoga class (C1) but I really wanted more of Eric's yoga sculpt class (60 minute heated combination of yoga, core, and weights) where I really get a good sweat on. My knees, shins, elbows, and even my chin sweats upside down into my mouth when I'm in my downward dog. This class is my calm before the storm. In this class I can sweat out toxins and push myself without the high-impact of traditional cardio (think burpees, mountain climbers, squats&more!). That's right, yoga sculpt is cardio too. It's the full package: flexibilty, strength, core, cardio, all in one hour. It's pretty efficient if you ask me. I'm all about getting more things done in less time. I'm sure the traditional yogi people are shocked when they come in to sculpt and take a "yoga" class with blaring music (gasp!) and dumbbells but that is EXACTLY why I love it. I love the high energy, the music, and the feeling when I leave that place ready to take on the world. PRICE: It's pretty expensive. Let's be real here. It's really really expensive to be a member at this place. However, if you're like me and already have gym membership somewhere else but want to do a drop in class a few times a month, they have drop in class rates and also a 10-class package deal. Right now they are running a special: Buy a $100 gift card for $80 which is a great deal too. I never ever thought I would like taking yoga, but the older I get the more I realize I need to start protecting my body, and the days I do yoga sculpt, my back doesn't hurt. This morning I did the unthinkable. I woke up and made it to the 6:30am Yoga Sculpt class...right next to Kyle H....and loved every sweaty moment. Thank you Kyle, for planting that yoga seed in my head. I have NEVER EVER been motivated enough to go to a class that early. I recently received a voicemail from Corepower, offering me another free week of classes. As any good Chinese person would do, I took advantage of their offer. I think it's pretty cool that they are offering me another free week to check out the business. I took Juri's Sculpt class with a couple of friends, and boy did the class kick my a**, but in a good way, of course. There isn't a lot of stretching in this class, it's more like a boot camp class in a heated room (not as heated as Bikram yoga, thank god!). We worked every muscle in our bodies - legs, arms, core. I have to say again that having fully equipped showers is a definitely plus and an advantage that this studio has over other hot yoga studios. You can come and work out, take a shower, and then carry on with the rest of your day, clean and refreshed. Namaste!! read more

*For Kahala location- tricky to find. It's technically on the outside of the mall. If you enter by the Whole Foods, go past the salad counter and make a left where Sephora is. Past the escalators, theres a leg of the mall on the right that leads you outside. Panda Express is at the end, and the studio is through the doors and to the right. What sets CorePower apart from other studios, is that your membership allows you to take a class not only anywhere in your state, but also anywhere in the nation! I've taken classes all around LA, OC, and Hawaii. This is a game changer for me and has allowed me to maintain being active while traveling and visiting friends. I would say most instructors maintain a consistency in their teachings so you also semi know what to expect. I really never saw myself as a hot yoga person as I don't tend to do well in heat, but don't knock it till you try it! I feel like I'm addicted and have been going on average 5 times per week since joining. It feels like a detox, meditation, stretching, and workout all in one. They also have sales on their activewear and equipment semi frequently, and includes a lot of products from well known brands, making it a steal of a deal. My friends and family have commented on my visible progress, and I feel stronger mentally and physically. Cannot recommend CPY enough! read more

I took a Core Restore class with Stephanie at the kahala location. I'd like to say, this is the FIRST TIME I've ever taken a class that I believe is consistent with yoga as a practice. I love Stephanie's energy and methods. The only criticism is that the music was a little too loud, and at times I was unable to hear her instruction. Overall, CPY as a studio is trendy and commercial. I've been there since the studio opened (circa 2014), and of the many, many instructors that teach there, I only remember 4 names - 3 of which are because they are names I remember so when I see them on the schedule, I avoid their classes. All the other instructors are mediocre, at best. They have a sign outside the studio, requesting that silence be observed. Stephanie is the only teacher I've heard make any effort to enforce this. Every other class I take, particularly the sculpt classes, are noisy - though sculpt is not a yoga class; it's more of a workout class. It's annoying to come to a class after work, as a means of trying to find some peace in my day, only to be met by loud chatter, loud music, and cookie cutter flows. Clapping at the end of each class also appears against the purpose of yoga. No other studio I go to, do students clap after a class, as if we're clapping for a performance. Most teachers start with a cliche, cheesy quote (in my opinion), rather than using the time and space to teach about mindfulness, and other meditative concepts. I have a black tag membership that's been grandfathered in since I joined in 2014. The only reason why I keep it is because it's relatively "cheap" compared to paying for individual classes, and because this studio has numerous classes between the two locations I frequent, and several in the middle of the day so I'm able to come during a lunch break. They also are unique in that they have a locker room with showers and toiletries - a feature I very much appreciate. read more

I've been coming to CorePower for almost 2 years now and still love it! My favorite class is Sculpt because i do need someone to yell at me so i work out! I have been members of different gyms and it just never worked for me, i would get there and just keep yawning and i would tell myself that it was enough work out after 3 push ups and 2 sit ups... for real... sometimes i also enjoy their yoga classes so i get some ommmm in my life and re balance! My favorite teachers are Bonnie, Eric, Max & Troy so if you are thinking on trying it out come to one of their classes (7 days for free). I also like that its pretty clean and everyone is friendly! I have a standing Saturday morning 630am yoga sculpt date with my bestie Meg at this studio. This is a lovely exercise ritual we both look forward to all week. Every Friday night we text each other to confirm our date, and on Saturday morning I wake-up at 530am to get ready and drive to Kahala. Depending on who gets there first, we set-up our mats, usually in the first row, and save a spot for the other person. Considering it's a Saturday morning, this yoga sculpt class is very popular because the instructor Marissa, is so 1000% awesome! She's always happy, energized, authentic and encouraging in the sweetest ways possible! It's usually the only sculpt class I take because I actually despise sculpt with a passion; but Meg and Marissa make it doable. Plus, the workout mixed with weights really helps to burn calories and build lean muscle. Ugh, the things we do to ourselves so we can make our butts tight and eat more malasadas! During our class we move to the upbeat mix of hip-hop, dance pop and latin music, make faces at each other in the mirror, high-five our neighbors with sweaty palms, scream wildly whenever Marissa asks "How you doing Saturday?!" and almost pass out every 10 minutes because of the cardio bursts. During our workout I wonder if it's possible to die from too many burpees? And my mind replies, "This is how you will feel if you have another baby. You'll feel like someone is trying to choke all the air out of your body with jumping jacks and a smile." At the end of class while you enter your savasana (corpse pose meditation), Marissa puts a cold peppermint scented towel on your head. This makes you feel as though you've died in a pool of your own sweat and have gone to heaven. The truth is, you have died in a pool of your own sweat, and you think you're in heaven because you no longer have to do mountain climbers. When we're extra motivated, and have not had too much wine the night before, occasionally we'll do a double and take Geoff's hot power fusion class right afterward. This might sound ridiculous, but your brain is too tired to fight with you at this point, so your zen buzz goes to the next level. Plus then you can drink more wine and eat malasadas with zero guilt. If you happen to pop into our 630am Saturday morning ritual, we are the girls laughing, screaming "you are so amazing neighbor!!!" and drowning in our own pools of sweat from 47 sets of mountain climbers and way too many burpees. Core Power Yoga is like no other yoga place in Hawaii. The facility is WOW! Someone spent some money here and made it look like a fancy little place in Beverly Hills. The lobby, the bathrooms and hot yoga rooms are all top notch. The best part are the staff, all very attractive and incredible instructors. They genuinely seem to care about you by explaining the workout and helping you correct positions. If you're looking for a terrific yoga class, they offer a week free and also every Sunday and Monday nights are free to the public. read more

I've never taken a yoga class, but I do it on my own with frequency. Yesterday, I was invited by a friend to go to a class (CorePower Yoga 3: Advanced Heated Power Yoga taught by Lia). I didn't know what to expect, but I always thought I'd enjoy a instructed setting. The facility is on the backside of Kahala Mall, near the entrance with Panda Express, etc. You could park anywhere and walk over, but there is ample parking right outside of the entrance. The lobby was well lit, maintained, and smelled fresh. They had a merchandise area, shoe cubbies, lockers, restrooms, showers, and drinking fountains. The desk staff was friendly and helped streamline entry to the class. The class itself was amazing; I felt good during and afterward, and am still feeling the effects of stretching, working new muscles, and the extreme relaxation that accompanies it. The class size was around 35 people. The room was kept dark with nice mood music. There was plenty of space for everyone to move. Mirrors on most walls made it easy to see what was going on for a first-timer like me, especially since all the regulars knew exactly what was going on. (I am amazed at the skill level of some people.) I loved the organization of working both sides equally, as well as doing difficult things a few times, dragging the last set out, then releasing the stress. Lia, the instructor, spoke clearly and loud enough to be heard. The pace was perfectly practiced, as well as the positive encouragement. The free week for beginners is a great way to try out a wide array of classes- I plan on taking advantage this week! Bring your own mat, towel, and water (all are necessary). read more

I've been on the search for a new workout to add to my routine and I've definitely found it! A good friend of mine had invited me many times to check out Core Power Yoga's yoga sculpt class, but something would always come up and I'd miss the class. So a few days ago, I had a good talk with myself and convinced my bf to attend an evening class with me. We got to the studio early to fill out forms. You can try out the classes for one week FREE! Since we were early for the level 2 class, my bf browsed the clothing racks and found a pair of shorts for $13 (75% off)! I didn't even want to look because I knew I'd end up buying way too many items. I could already see from a distance some cute Lululemon clothes! The instructor, David, also arrived early and came to speak with us. He was very friendly and inquired about our fitness experiences (my bf does judo, I do Bootcamp), stating that we both would be able to enjoy the class. And he was right! It was a one hour long, heated workout with both simple and challenging poses. The people in the class were from various skill levels, so I didn't feel so self conscious about my inexperience and wobbly legs. My bf and I had arrived with our heads full of stress and worry, and left with a sense of calm and positive energy. The next morning, I joined my good friend at a yoga sculpt class and also the following morning! I'm hooked! I signed up that day, just squeezing in on nearly the last day for their March special of $79 for each month for two months of unlimited classes! The only not so good parts about this place is that it's located in Kahala mall, so parking is closed in the morning and gets filled quickly when the mall IS open. Street parking might be your best bet. Also, all members can attend any class so you need to arrive early to get a good spot in the studio, but I've been told that rarely is there no room for everyone who is present. read more

After not practicing yoga for over a year I decided to get back into the groove. After looking around and talking to a coworker, I settled on Core Power Yoga. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and getting the swift kick in the butt from a coworker, whom swears by this place, I went in and did the 1 week free yoga to see if I would truly enjoy the location. Unfortunately I did not take full advantage of the 1 week free unlimited yoga, I only tried one class due to my schedule. It was the level 1 class on a weekday during the day (I forgot the teacher's name but she checked me and registered me for the 1 week free). There is only 1 studio and is mopped in between classes. It is a little hard to enter then the previous class is leaving as the studio opens 30 minutes before and after each class. There are locker rooms which is in the bathroom. The facility is clean. I don't know if I will ever join this yoga location, due to hectic schedule not be ecnomically friendly to get my money's worth. But if I had the time I would definitely join. My only piece of advice: do take a shower after class, because trust me, you will be dripping wet from sweat (example: after my class, the whole back of my tank top was literally drenched in sweat to the point that if I wanted to, I could actually take it off, wring it and water would come flowing out). read more

I can't say enough good things about Core Power. I found a great de-stresser from life, work, and dare I say, my boyfriend! I've tried both town locations, Ward and Kahala. And although Ward is more convenient, I still prefer the Kahala location more. I have a few friends who go and asked if I wanted to try the free week of classes to check it out. I did 3 sessions during the free week trial and loved it! In the end, I got the Black Tag membership to motivate me to continue going regularly. Luckily, I work for Hawaii Pacific Health so there is a corporate rate, woohoo! I have to remind myself how much this is costing me a month, so if I'm able to at least go 1-2x/week, I don't feel as bad. Differences between Ward and Kahala - Ward has 2 studios, Kahala has 1 studio, but is a lot bigger. The locker room is bigger and cleaner at the Kahala location. As far as the classes go, I've only done Yoga Sculpt and C2 so far. Both taught by my fave instructor Ryan! I just love his energy, and he has the best hair. I definitely feel like I have more flexibility than before, since I do weight training, is definitely good for my muscles. And because all the classes are "hot" yoga, you will definitely break a sweat! Highly encourage everyone to give the 1 week free trial a try! So worth it to just attend a class. 1 class is $30, so if you go everyday for that 1 week, that's $210 you could save! :P read more

Yoga is an integral part of happiness for me and I am so happy that I splurged on a black tag membership! I love that every time I check the schedule, there is a class within the hour. It is convenient! I really like most of the instructors there and that the classes are consistent. Let me explain: there are a few different kinds of classes but if you go to a core 2 class, taught by any instructor, it follows about the same format. So here is a cheat sheet for some of their classes: C2- my favorite- harder than C1, you should know some basics and have been to a class before! C1- this is your try it out class! Sculpt- this is the KICK-YOUR-BOOTY, walk out covered in sweat, cardio included for your entertainment HPF- C2 minus so many downwards dogs and plus A WHOLE LOT OF SWEAT- like bring two towels.... Been attending Core Power Yoga for about 6 months now. Initially, I was a little turned off by the "yoga scene" and the seemingly superficial "look at my new lulu top" feel I got, making me very reluctant to try out this sport. I was referred by a friend who I trust and found that this studio makes me feel right at home. I really like the balance of learning about the history and practice of yoga along with the intense workout I get. The staff is super down to earth and relatable, making newbie like myself very comfortable with trying something new. While I have some favorite instructors, I would say across the board they are all good. Try out the free week! And don't be intimidated, like the instructors say: it's called Yoga Practice, not Yoga Perfect. read more

I've been going here for around 2 years now and love it! I started off at the Ward location because it was located close to where I work. Now I just go on weekends so I attend the Kahala location because it's closer to where I live. Sometimes the classes can get super ridiculously packed with only a couple inches of space between your mat and your neighbors mat, but this has only happened to me a handful of times over the past two years. I highly recommend attending one of the 75min classes on the weekends. You are paying the same amount of money as a 60min class but it's longer. My favorite class is Sculpt with Max. Sculpt is a mix of yoga and weighted exercises in a heated room. Sculpt helps you gain muscle as well lose that extra fat you might have. He teaches on Saturday mornings at Ward and Sunday mornings at Kahala. He always has the best upbeat music to work to, and I'm always drenched in sweat after his work out. The only downside is that it isss on the pricier side. If you can afford it and are able to attend 3-4 class/week, then the black tag membership is the best option. They also have class packages that you can buy so that you can just attend class whenever you want. read more

Okay so Yoga seems to be something that just about everyone is doing these days. Stepping into this yoga space gives you a hip new way to get in the mode. Very warm staff and no need to shop for yoga gear because they have it all there. Great deals and great variety. The facility is very clean and it even has showers to freshen up after your class. Love the music selection and also the different classes and instructors. Great way to get back into Zen mode and connect with your body while getting a good workout. I love hot yoga. It's a fine yoga studio if you want to basics, but they continue to refuse to even connect their phone- so god help you if you can't find the place. This location is literally in a mall with about 20 parking lots you can park in- so it's horrible to find the place. I got there a half and hour early and walked around calling the whole time. I've been here once before and they waited for me but they make you feel bad by locking the door and making a whole thing when they let you in. If they just helped you get there one time I wouldn't be late! And CorePower just keeps refunding me the credits, lol. I just want to use up my credits and be done with this business. There are plenty of studios who need business and are willing to work for it. read more

Despite practicing yoga on and off for several years, I was never the biggest proponent of yoga as exercise....That is, until trying the sculpt class at CorePower! I admit to being a very stubborn person - at least a year ago, friends from my bootcamp were telling me to try this class, that I'd love it, but it took me a long time to get my butt there to try it out. Now I am hooked. The great thing about CorePower is that they offer such a variety of yoga classes. No matter what level you are or what level of intensity you're looking for, they will have a class for you. I enjoy sculpt because it is such an efficient workout - in one hour in the heated studio, you use light hand weights during the practice, doing strength, cardio and yoga poses. When I walk out, I feel accomplished - I've just got my stretch, cardio and strength training done in one class! A multi-taskers' dream! The Hot Power Fusion class is also excellent for those wanting to detox and stretch using the Bikram-like flow and poses, but without the 90 minute commitment of traditional Bikram classes. All classes are also set to music, which I feel makes the practice so much more enjoyable and makes the time fly! Some classes (especially the evening classes) get very crowded early, so if you want to try them out, make sure to arrive 30 minutes before class begins as I believe classes are capped at 50. First off, I'd like to say I'm a Bikram devotee. Been going for 3+ years and never felt the need to try something different. But then again, change is good, and like a good yogi, I gradually started opening up to the idea of Corepower Yoga. And it helps to have "ONE FREE WEEK OF YOGA" to lure the skeptical and economical types in. haha I liked it. a lot. Enjoyed that even though I took the same Core Power 2 class, it was not the exact same set and order of postures. Each teacher had a different style; one even had us holding hands with the other people next to us, collaborating and attempting handstands, allowing us to "build" and harness the energy of those around us. They are open to switching it up and combining a lot of different styles of yoga. Never knew what to expect. The atmosphere was nice, refreshing, yet you also got your sweat on. And the music, mantras, and self reflection at the beginning and end of class was nice. I'm listening to Black eyed peas, nelly furtado, and others while doing yoga! And all in just one hour! This place itself is hip. this place is fusion, its flowing. This place, showers, locker rooms, floors are chic and clean, and great for modern guys and gals. Feels like something I'd find in LA. Negatives include finding the right classes for your skill level and within your schedule. Like most people, I have the typical work hours, and I am not able to go to some of the other classes that are offered. Would be nice if the different classes were switched at different times throughout the week. I ended up taking Core Power 2 for my four of my five free classes because that's the time I could go at. I did find myself lost at times, racing to catch up. Would recommend Corepower 1 or 1.5 to start first to get your technique right if you're new. Really nice staff and instructors. I got a pass to try the membership out for a week and overall it was a really good experience. Even their beginning C1 level classes are fairly intense so I'm not sure it's a good place for brand new yoga practitioners but the instructors are great at giving verbal and hand-ons help so if you're ok feeling a little out of your depth it should be fine. Instructors also made sure to ask people what their name was and gave specific shoutouts to every student, so that was a nice touch. The room was heated (or felt heated) so I sweat A LOT more than at other yoga studios but that's probably a good thing. The lockers are clean and have nice amenities. It's really great they give you a free trial, so definitely check it out! read more

PROS: - Modern, smell-free studio with nice amenities and a spa-like locker room (lots of showers with shampoo, conditioner, and soap; blowdryers, even q-tips) - Floor is cleaned (mopped) between classes & they spray a nice scent after classes - Nice instructors (Daniel is great!) and frequent classes - Yoga Sculpt class (plyometrics + abs + weights + some yoga poses thrown in there = amazing) CONS: - Overcrowded classes. Some classes are so full that mats are practically touching and they won't turn anyone away (maybe this is a positive for people who run late?). Anyway -because of the sweaty nature of hot yoga, this means that you will get drips of other people's sweat landing on you. Not a big fan of that. - Another reviewer mentioned this, but there is only one door to the one studio. This means a massive clusterfudge between classes. I LOVE Corepower yoga!!! I've lived in the area for months, but I always thought Corepower was full of snooty, rich, super fit yogis so I never bothered to check it out, even though I saw the "1 week free yoga" sign outside. Well, it took 2 of my friends, but they convinced me to try it with them for 1 week. I went in and got a tour of the place from the very nice, informative staff. May I just say, the facility is gorgeous. I love all their products and their locker rooms are just divine. When I took my first class, I realized how wrong I was about this studio. Everyone is beautiful on the inside and out and SO nice, especially the teachers! All the yogis are working at their own pace and are on their own journey so you don't feel ashamed about your own progress. After my 1 week was over, I thought I could go on without CP Yoga in my life, but I was wrong! I signed up for the black tag membership soon after. I like that you can take all different level classes in case some days you need your ass kicked or other days you need to chill out. My favorite teachers are David & Coco. David is one of the more spiritual teachers at the studio and I feel like he really cares about his students' progress and is genuinely happy to see them in class. I love when he plays the Beatles during our classes too :) Coco just moved on but she gave great, ass kicking yoga sessions. I love her accent and how she pushes you. This place has become my sanctuary from the crazy world. I take about 4-5 classes here per week. CP Yoga has helped me so much in all aspects of my life, especially with losing weight and getting to that low body fat percentage! Well, I'm on my way :) The only reason I knock 1 star off is because membership is so expensive ($135 month). I wish they gave you some kind of discount for attending classes regularly. I don't like yoga. As a dancer, I like to move it move it. My previous experiences with yoga were so boring and static. As I've gotten older, and very very slightly more educated about yoga, I've come to realize that whatever TYPE of yoga I had before was just not the type for me. The 7 day free trial is what pushed me to try this studio. Looking online at the class card and membership prices, they aren't cheap. Upwards of $90ish bucks for a 5 class card, $135 for a monthly unlimited membership?! Yikes! But my friend and I went to the Intro class with Mara on a Wednesday midday and actually enjoyed ourselves. From what I gather, it was a Vinyasa (sp?) inspired class; coordinating breath and movement together, much less static than my previous experiences. Most classes here seem to be heated. I'm not interested in that, so that and the price will keep me from being a member or buying a card. HOWEVER, I learned tonight that the last class on Sunday and Monday is FREE. And I believe both are introductory, non-heated classes at 8:45pm. Well that might be enough to keep me coming back! read more

I bought a Groupon for Corepower and I'm so glad I did. I had heard good things about it from classmates and friends, and I like that it's located on the way home and has easy parking. I also love that there are so many class times, and several options for payment depending on how often you go. I love that the studio is clean and well-laid out, with a waiting/shopping area and changing rooms with toilets, showers, and lockers. You can also rent mats, towels, and locks if you don't have your own equipment. The only part I don't like is that the no-shoe in the studio policy means that I have to walk barefoot into the bathrooms, Britney-style. Thankfully, the bathrooms are pretty clean, although I still get a little grossed out when I go in. My favorite class is the Sculpt class, closely followed by Core Power 2. I used to do Bikram at Hawaii Kai Bikram, but I think I like the Core Power classes better because they are faster-paced and more dynamic, and the room is slightly cooler than Bikram (95 vs. 105 degrees). I like that the classes are intense, but they really allow you to customize your workout level. If you don't feel like busting ass in Sculpt, you can opt to use lighter weights or none at all. If you feel tired during a C2 class, you can just return to Child's Pose and chill out until you're ready to rejoin. I feel great after every class, and although I won't be renewing my membership due to my busy schedule, I will be returning for a drop-in class once a week or so. read more

This is a review for the studio and service, not for the class types, instructors or quality of yoga classes offered. The studio is very clean and somewhat spacious. The front has a little retail section, where you can find some cute Lulu stuff on sale as well as other brands. The folks working the reception desk and classes are all very nice and friendly (i think all teachers need to work the front desk). The showers and locker room are a tad small but very clean with free shampoo and stuffs. It's nice to have showers available after the heated classes as you will be dripping.... The studio room has no natural light and mirrors in the front and the right side. Here are the classes I tried: Sculpt is like yoga with weights. Think of it as a basic Vinyasa flow based class, where you do some single arm rows etc. Holds are very short and flows are fast. Class is heated. Hot-Power Fusion is a shorter Bikram class - slow and you repeat every pose twice. Holds are short. This is the hottest (temperature) class they offer. C2 is also a Vinyasa based class that incorporates some power elements. You are welcome to more advanced poses. Flows are fast and holds are short. Class is heated. Try different teachers to find out who comes around adjusting or has more challenging poses and longer holds. The one thing i really disliked was how high they cranked up the music in the sculpt classes, it was often times hard to hear the instructor. Bring a yogitoes towel for heated classes to prevent slipping and sliding and be prepared to have 2 inches left and right of your mat. It would be nice if they would have markers on the floor, so students can lay out their mats accordingly. read more
