Corepower is AWESOME! If you are new to Corepower there is the option to trying one week of classes free. I definitely recommend taking advantage of this! Yoga classes can be fairly pricey so try it for free before making the commitment of buying a pass!! The staff is always very welcoming and are more than happy to answer your questions. I know because I had a lot of them. I also liked that the instructors had a sense of humor! A laugh in the middle of class is always fun. Some of the classes can get really full with little space between each mat. Try to arrive early, before the studio opens so that you can find the spot you want. There are showers in the studio so if you try a heated class you are able to freshen up after. Besides the classes the most fun part is the apparel and merchandise they have to offer! I took an advantage of the deal, took "CorePower Yoga Sculpt - Heated Power Yoga with Weights" for 5 weekdays. This is so addictive. Good: You get great work out and sweat a lot. Bad: Due to the loud music, I could not hear the instructions, but that's ok - you get a work out anyways. Tip: Make sure you bring a bottle of water, yoga mat, large towel and $1.00 for locker. There is a rental $1.00 locker, you pay first for a key and get your money back when you return the key. Although locker key could be all gone for busy time. There are rental Yoga Mats but I warn you - possibly unbearable odor with it. My pal's weights were stinky as well. read more

I couldn't bear to give it up. _______________________ Apparently this place is a chain.....very popular on the mainland. Thank god they finally decided to open one here because I love it! My friend was just telling me about this place that opened in Kahala Mall (back side near ASB and the cleaners, hair salon, theaters), and perfect timing (must be fate) because a Groupon came out for it shortly after. It is like some higher power was blatantly telling me that I need to start practicing yoga again. I used to do the regular, la-dee-da kind at 24. Even though that is like a walk in the park (or even a nap) compared to CorePower, I think that yoga truly helps me stay sane & really does positively impact my psyche and well-being.....and therefore I realized I should really keep doing it on a regular basis. So the Groupon was $60 for a month, unlimited. Usually for regular I think it is $135. And yikes, that is pretty steep. That's like, 5-6 months of gym membership. But they offer a free week trial, so I got a month and a week for $60---I want to see how we'll it works in with my weekly work and already-existing workout schedule and then decide if I will be able to fully commit to it to justify becoming a full-fledged, $135/month member. So far I've been to Sculpt (once) and HPF (two). They have both been great, and trust me--even those who are in pretty good shape...these will still give you a damn good run for your money! It's challenging and I LOVE how great you feel after sweating buckets each session. Bring a towel. Actually bring two. One for mat, one for you. Classes can get super super crowded from what I've been seeing (especially the ones after work during the week)....but I'm sure it's just temporary, due to the rush of Groupon people like myself coming (sorry!) Parking lot can be tricky at those peak times but it is fine on weekend mornings. In any case (besides the pricey membership) this place rocks. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. The studio is super clean and the locker rooms are totally stocked so you can just shower after class and go on with your day. And, they sell Lulu garb there too (each class is like a mini Lulu fashion show which I will admit that I fully participate in). I highly recommend! Just go for a week, give it a shot. YESSSSSS I am stunned... This yoga studio is amazing, you can't want more from a yoga studio seriously HAS IT ALL... I LOVE the cleanliness, its very important to keep it clean, especially if its a studio that offers hot yoga, customer service here is great as well, you can tell the employees just enjoy working there.. You feel the positive energy, and feed off of it, its amazing!! Since they just recently opened up not many people know about it, so they currently offer free classes on monday and sunday nights, its so worth the hour, try it out you'll love it and become addicted... Then you can used their offer a WEEK of YOGA for FREE and then become a member, yay!! Price ranges about the same for all studios.. One thing I was kinda sad about was no 90 min sessions, only 60 or 75 min sessions, perhaps they will change that in the future..?! Corepower Yoga is actually a corporation from the mainland and because of that they have so much advantages over all the other bikram yoga studios and even regular studios in Honolulu.. I support local businesses the most, and one studio I would always go back to is the Hawaii Kai Bikram Yoga Studio, only one problem is its too far for me, and this place is perfectly convenient, less than 10 min away, they have a bunch of classes throughout the day, they have a shower which is just so convenient with shampoo, conditioner, body was and lotion, they even have a blow-drier for your hair and a comb to style it, so basically you don't even have to go home and get ready you can go straight to work or school from there, it can't be any more convenient then this can it.. Glad to see a Corepower in Hawaii!!! I go to the ones in California & am a big fan of how they teach & do business. Since I'm in Hawaii every few months, I'm thrilled to see that they've made it over here! :) C2, Sculpt, etc...all great classes! And the showers are clean. I don't have to bring anything...they've got it all...shampoo, conditioner, soap, q-tips, blow dryers, brushes, lockers, etc. I show up un-prepared & just rent a towel & mat ($3 total). Heads up...you'll be drenched due to the heated rooms, so don't plan to go anywhere afterwards unless you clean up! It's not a mellow workout. Enjoy! read more

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE CORE POWER YOGA! This studio, the teachers/instructions, the environment has made me fall in love with Bikram yoga and the practice. Yes, it can be pricey however when you love what you do price should not matter! This studio offers a ton of class times throughout the day that allows anyone to join in on some fun between jobs, before or after work. This is really why I first chose to try this studio because they have a class every hour that really accommodates to my busy work schedule. I really enjoy all the instructors here. I spent a week in Honolulu and this was my go to yoga spot! Enjoyed three classes of hot yoga and had a challenging yet mindful experience each time. The facilities including the locker room are clean and uncrowded during the early mornings. This review is a little bittersweet since I don't want it to end. But alas, I'm almost done using up my 10-class pass. I used it up over a three month period since there is no expiration date. With the holiday gift card deal, it was actually decently priced. I don't do yoga very often, but what drew me here were the Core Power Sculpt classes. It's the ultimate sweatfest where you do a combination of yoga, strength training and cardio exercises in a heated room (about 95-97 degrees). On top of a great workout, you also leave feeling more centered and holistic. After a long day at the office, I often look forward to it. I'm sad I can't do it on a more regular basis. If only their membership prices were more affordable. Nonetheless, it's a great class and an energizing environment that will turn any non-yogi into one in no time. Try it out with the 1-week pass deal and check out their other yoga classes for all levels. I'll also add that the facilities at both the Waialae and Ward locations are clean and the instructors I've taken classes from were all welcoming and friendly. So I have been going to yoga for a little bit over a month now. And I'm officially falling in love with the practice. I have always wanted to try yoga for the longest period of time! And I'm so glad that I came to CPY-Hawaii! Located at Kahala Mall, so that means there's tons of parking. The studio is clean and they have showers so you can clean up after sweating! They also have a retail section full of yoga essentials! Now time for the classes! I am a beginner, so I started with Hot Power Fusion (HPF) this is a good class for beginners like me! A lot slower compared to power yoga but still getting the same benefits! Then when I was a bit more comfortable, I tried a C1 class, Intro to Power Yoga, a lot faster pace compared to HPF, this too is great for beginners! Then went to try a C2 class, definitely a lot more challenging compared to C1, I tried this to see if I would be able to handle it and surprisingly I did (so far). Over the last 2 weeks I have been doing Sculpt Class, basically a C2 class with weights, pretty intense class if you ask me but it's super fun! Why do I like this place? One, the instructors are super nice, they offer adjustments in class to make sure you don't injure yourself from the practice. Two, they give you options/layers during class depending on your ability. Three, They always tell you to listen to your body. Four, I get t relax and at the same time sweat. & Five, I get to meet nice people! So , if you are ever interested in trying yoga, I highly suggest this place. They have FREE WEEK YOGA. This place shattered my views on Yoga. As a gym rat who always looked at Yoga as only for flexibility and relaxation, it took only one session of hot Yoga sculpt with weights, and subsequently getting my butt kicked as a result, to realize that these instructors and class participants are tough as nails. Dudes, you will get your okole handed to you if you aren't prepared for this sculpt class. And I love it. There's zero doubt that if you want to get ripped, Core Power will get you there if you are dedicated to attending the right class and disciplined with your diet and attendance as well. The rooms are incredibly clean and odorless for how sweaty you will get. And I made Shaquille O'neal look like a dry piece of toast. Pam and Talaya, the two instructors I had while I enjoyed my two week trial, obviously knew what they were doing, and got me enjoying every minute of the workout. I could tell how caring they are when they remembered my name after just two workouts and asked me how I was doing and felt, a simple gesture that moves mountains in the industry. You can rent a mat if you need to, and parking is almost always ample at the Kahala location. I wish that I could continue on at Core Power Yoga, but the cost is prohibitive to my budget, and yet in a way I don't mind, because I hate to say it but the barrier to entry keeps this place amazingly clean, sexy, and fashionable. Recommended to anyone who takes their workouts seriously and loves pushing themselves hard. Your post-workout beverages after a session at Core Power will be the best refreshment you will have in your lifetime. read more

I love Core Power Yoga! I don't have a lot of experience with yoga, other than a few months of Bikram about 10 years ago (in my much younger and fitter days) so I don't have really much to compare it to. And while its a big corporate establishment, and I usually prefer small local businesses, there is still much to love about CPY: -It is extremely CLEAN -The teachers are all very friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and encouraging -I love that the classes are set to music -It is extremely CLEAN -There is a wide range of classes for different abilities -They offer late classes (8:45pm is their latest) which works great for my schedule -It is extremely CLEAN -Easy, free, parking at the mall -The iPhone app is very helpful -They have great bathroom facilities that are extremely CLEAN As you can tell, cleanliness is very important to me and I am very impressed with how clean they are able to keep their studio and facilities, with all that sweating going on! And sweat you will! All classes are heated to different degrees. For beginners, the heat is very manageable with only slight heat. For the hard core yogis, there are HOT classes. The one and only thing that I wish were different is the pricing. CPY is not cheap. They hook you in with a free week of unlimited yoga or an affordable groupon (and trust me, you will get hooked), and then you will pay somewhere between $12-$25 per class, depending on the package you choose and how many months you commit to. To their credit, they make their studio available to everyone by offering free classes on some Sundays, taught by a teacher in training. So even if you can't afford their prices, you can at least try them out for a free week, through a groupon or attend a free class. So if you have the slightest interest in yoga, CPY should definitely be on your bookmark list! read more

This place is my sanctuary. Where I go when I need a break from life, if only for an hour. The locker room is like a spa, super clean, with lots of amenities like shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the showers, blow dryers and even feminine hygiene products. Bring a lock for your locker, though. I think you can rent one if you forget. I usually go to the level 2 class, and so far I've liked Marissa the best out of the instructors I've experienced. She has a super positive vibe about her. Don't get me wrong, the other instructors are great, too. But definitely check out Marissa's classes. You won't be disappointed. read more

Core Power Yoga has been a staple in my life for the past 3 years. I love the Kahala Mall location. Classes are offered daily from 6:45am to around 8:45pm. This makes scheduling convenient and I am never bummed if I miss a specific time because the next class is going to be awesome as well. The studio is clean, they have wonderful, energetic yoga instructors and 6 showers in the women's room post class. I am able to zip into a 60 minute yoga flow or sculpt (weights/cardio intensive class) and can go to Whole Foods for dinner or shop around the mall. I had reservations about "yoga at the mall", but was I ever surprised!!! This studio is clean and friendly. I have been to several classes now, all the teachers are fantastic- I haven't committed to a membership yet, but have been doing the drop in rate which is $12 for the 1 hr unheated class and all other classes are $20. Mats and towels are available to use, also a mini yoga ware boutique that sells lululemon. It took a class or two to get used to the music that was being played in the studio, it was a bit distracting, now I don't even notice it. I am an avid yogini, and practice at all 3 CorePower locations on the island, so I will review all 3 separately :) Regarding CorePower in general, the place is wonderful. There are classes for all levels, offered at various times throughout the day. The instructors have always been helpful and welcoming. All three locations are clean and convenient. The Kahala studio is probably my favorite location of the three. It has the largest studio space, and there are no windows in this studio, so it is very serene. The locker room/ changing area is also the largest of the three locations, and they have the most showers (6 I think), so that's definitely a plus. The only negative is that they share parking with the mall, so it can take a while to find parking, depending on the time of day. But I've always found a space. read more

Clean, friendly and hardcore power yoga!! I regularly do power yoga and bikram in LA and this studio is a great alternative while I'm on vacation in Hawaii. The sculpt class is challenging and a great workout. Great instructors and fun music to keep you going. Parking is sometimes tough but not impossible. I have been to both the Kahala and Ward locations. I know some Yogis have their preferences, but for me I like both locations and it seems the instructors float between the two places so i don't have any major preferences. The only thing that differs between the two locations is that the Ward location has 2 studio rooms, with both rooms having windows and the Kahala location only has one with no windows. But hey, you go for the practice not for the scenry. ;) Anyway, my reason for the 5 stars. I truly enjoy my practice here at CorePower yoga for the following top 5 reasons (hence 5 stars) 1) Hands on adjustment. It really helps to know that my Yoga teacher will help me get into the right posture so I don't injury myself. 2) Location. I work in town so having a studio close by is a HUGE convinence. 3) Instructors. All the instructures I had were really awesome people. Really nice, patient and willing to help. I will say for the hardcore yogis, look for Naomi, she's the toughest teacher I've ever had. She will help push you to your limit :) 4) Parking. Since both studios are located in shopping complexes, parking is free and there is plenty of it. 5) Experience. All the classes that are offered from beginning to advance, the teachers/studio creates the best environment for you to mediate and ground yourself in your practice. If there is one tiny let down is that I wish there were more classes for me to attend! For the Kahala location, many of the classes are schedule more towards the late afternoon to evening, for me I like to switch up my practices between day and night, but for the most part they do have variety of classes :) So if you have yet to check this place out, you should give it a try. I've been to other Corepower studios before this one, but this particular CP got me addicted. And it IS addicting, so beware! You might find yourself "accidentally" driving to the CP studio instead of running those errands. The consistency of the instructors and the variety of classes is amazing. C2 is always fun--a more flow-based yoga with some occasional arm balances mixed in. Yoga Sculpt is so addicting because they push you beyond your limit and it's amazing to know what you're capable of when you're in a room filled with great energy. I love that they also have a C3 class! In case you're up for something a little more challenging. I was a little intimidated when I went to my first C3, but you can always tone the poses down in case you're not feeling so strong/balanced. The Hot Power Fusion (HPF) is a nice complement to the more flowy classes because you hold poses for a bit longer and you can really find your alignment. The Corepower Honolulu has a special place in my heart! The vibe of all the people is great and there are so many talented practitioners. It's a non-judgemental space and the facilities are gorgeous. The instructors are all lovely and I haven't ever had a bad or even an average class here--they've all been inspiring. read more

I absolutely LOVE Core Power Yoga! I have been working on my practice here for the past couple of months and feel like I need to go everyday. The staff is all so friendly, welcoming, and down right cool people. The modern feel of the place is really refreshing and not to mention clean/organized. Each instructor has their own sort of spin and feel to the class, which is complimented by their own unique music choices. Whether your looking for an intense workout or more of a mellow relaxation Core Power's variety of classes gives you the option to choose. The only downside about this studio is that classes fill up to the brim. It is often times practically matt to matt especially later in the afternoons so if you can manage to wake up early it is worth it. Be sure to try one of Coco's classes! I love her music and teaching style so much. Juri, Marissa, and Naomi will kick your butt back into shape with sculpt and their music choice is always so fun. Definitely makes me wanna shake my booty and I've seen people in class do the same. read more

I am new to yoga... my only previous experience was my free CPY week that I used a few months ago at the Ward studio. I got an email for a free birthday class, so I decided to check out the Kahala studio. It was awesome!! I arrived, flustered, after walking all over Kahala Mall looking for the studio, and the young women working at the front desk were super accommodating and totally calmed me down! They checked with the instructor to see if I could join the class 4 minutes late, quickly gave me the necessary paperwork to sign in order to participate, and provided me with a free mat, towel and water bottle to enjoy my birthday class - fantastic! I took a Core 1 (C1) beginner level class. The instructor, Michelle, was very cool and took the time to explain (in detail) the movements that we were doing. I was clearly the least experienced person in the class, yet it seemed that everyone was getting something out of the practice, which was cool. The CPY facility is really nice. The locker rooms are clean and stocked with everything you need to clean yourself up afterward - shampoo, body wash, lotion, hair dryer, etc. I can't express enough how welcome I felt upon entering the CPY facility. All of the employees were awesome and friendly and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing! They wished me a happy birthday on my way out, and the birthday yoga class was truly the highlight of my day! Highly recommend! read more

I absolutely love this Core Power location, my favorite on the island for sure. This studio is smaller but it's able to accommodate lots of yogis! Alex M is the best yoga sculpt teacher I've ever had! I wish that I could take him back to LA with me! His music is amazing and gets you amped for the class! His workouts are challenging and effective, I was able to see a difference in my body in just a few sessions. Thank you Alex for sharing your incredible practice! This location doesn't offer a lot of HPF classes in the mornings so I've done the 75min class offered on Saturdays. I've taken a few classes from Geoff and I will say he's really great as well. He has a calming energy and soothing voice; which is everything I need for a 7:45am class on a Saturday! Joining CPY has been such a hugely transformative experience... i love this place. The studio was always super comfortable to be in, even at the start, when it can be a little intimidating. I LOVE the teachers here... they are genuinely passionate about sharing yoga, and everyone I see is always really friendly and welcoming. The only thing that is kinda a bummer -- the locker room is WAY too small and crowded, probably because when they built the studio they weren't anticipating it would be so popular. Also, the parking isn't the best, but it's doable. I often come straight from work and evening classes are popular, so try to get into the locker room a bit early if you like your space. Marissa, Stephanie, Mara, Katie and Katelynn are my favorite instructors -- this is maybe because the times that work with my schedule happen to be their classes -- but they are all great in their own unique way. I had done yoga over the past 15 years, but never like this -- my practice has deepened a lot in just the past 7-8 months I have been going here, and it's been an awesome journey so far. I find myself craving it when I haven't been able to go for a few days -- hard. Like, jonesing. I didn't think I would like hot yoga, but it's become so addictive and has contributed to a much stronger, peaceful, mindful me -- i don't even want to do yoga without the heat now. It's such a more intense way to practice, at least for me -- really challenges you, daily detox. I love core power yoga I swear by their classes on the Orange County area when I'm home for schooling at UCI! I have personally always used code power yoga for their amazing classes and workouts. I was super stoked to try out the Hawaii location out on vacation during the week of 6/15/6/21... while using my core power membership in OC .. I went into the Hawaii location and I was greeted by an unfriendly host at the door that looked up my membership and proceed to make me feel uncomfortable due to the fact that " I live out of region". I have recently made the move to Hawaii and I don't agree with the disrespect I got from core power yoga and don't plan on returning. The core power in Hawaii made me feel uncomfortable it was such a difficult and different experience in Hawaii and I will not return.. read more

So based on my own issues, I'm still coming around to the most reason tweaks on yoga. I'm a firm believer in heat, but still undecided on the cardio and weight aspects of practice. A friend introduced me to Core Power Yoga and I couldn't be happier. I didn't think I would be a fan of hot yoga but I'm addicted. From the time you walk in the door you can tell how great of a place it really is! Everyone is really nice and it's super clean. The prices are actually really affordable especially if you can do a monthly rate. I've had a variety of teachers and I've enjoyed all the classes. I think it's saying something when I drive all the way from the North Shore to go here...I really enjoy it! read more

I love CorePower Yoga. The instructors are great, there's a lot of variation between classes, and they even play music during class! The studio and facilities are very clean, and the store in the front has some awesome sales. I recommend starting with CPY1 and working your way up from there. The reason I took away 1 star is because the noise level is very high before and after class, it is hard to focus and relax. Not totally something the instructors can control, but maybe educating people on yoga etiquette when they sign up?? read more

I really love this place! The staff are friendly, the place is nice, and the yoga instructors are great. They have classes in the evening which fits my schedule well. As a beginner to yoga, I love taking classes with Danny, Juri, and Ann-Marie. They are the best! The only one drawback is is that the classes are often packed with people. You'd have to rush into the room (once the staff members clean it) to get a good space. Sometimes I feel rude doing this, but I have no other choice (learned the hard way). read more
