Damn this place is so good!!! We'd stopped through this summer and had a couple sandwiches to go, so we knew we had to go back when we were visiting Duluth. I love the Lincoln Park area of Duluth and in general recommend a good day of brewery visits topped off with a delicious sandwich from Corktown! I had the Knuckle Sandwich which is heaven I'd you enjoy Roast Beef, spicy peppers and Horseradish!! My boyfriend was brave and ordered the Fire of Phoenix - yowsers it's SPICY but the flavors were delicious. Not for the faint of heart though so if you're a typical Minnesotan and think ketchup is spicy, stay away! We loved it topped with extra coleslaw from the deli! They have a fantastic beer selection both with many local options on tap and in the bottle/can. Love their deli shop with many accoutrements to take home too! A must stop while in Duluth. Was in Duluth to visit family and some local friends met us for lunch at Corktown Deli. The place has a killer design and functions like a walk up sandwich shop where you order your food surrounded by a brew pub and beers service. There are tables peppered around the joint and my only knock on the experience is the area is pretty tight to get by when you want to order or use the restroom. The sandwiches are amazing both hot and cold options with variations on how many oz. of meat you want and if you want to take a nap straightaway or later in the day! They also have good salads and kids options for the littles that accompany you to try great local beer. Duluth is turning it around and this place is a must visit! read more

The best meal that I've had in years! The location is bright and welcoming. Upon entering we were warmly greeted and you can see into a clean and orderly kitchen. Maria was the hostess and she took extra care to get coloring sheets and crayons that our daughters would enjoy. I didn't get the name of our initial server but we were soon taken over by Carter. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. They brought the easy and comfortable atmosphere to life. The little ones had chicken tenders (the best I've ever tasted; juicy, tender, truly melt-in-your-mouth.) our oldest enjoyed the "Buttermilk Tendies, Waffjes, & Slaw." The same amazing chicken tenders with top notch waffle fries and bacon and blue cheese coleslaw. My wife ordered the "Corktown Club" sandwich with a bowl of the "Under the Tuscan Sun" soup. The sourdough bread was from a local bakery and just heaven. Coupled with the cranberry mayo, they were the stars of the sandwich. I had the "Angry Reuben." It was a good sandwich but maybe a little too angry for me lol just a tad too spicy so that the heat overwhelmed the classic Reuben flavors. This was made up for by the side dish which was the real star of my plate: fried Buffalo bleu cheese Brussel sprouts. They were cooked to crispy and savory perfection. I tasted the chocolate cake that was devoured by my wife and kids; the small forkful that I managed was very good. They almost licked the plate clean lol The beer selection was exciting and featured many local brews which I was looking forward to as an out-of-towner. The bartender I spoke to offered samples before we ordered and even told us where we could buy more of the craft beers from a local store. Prices were reasonable; actually it's a great value for the price. There is a small percentage (5% I think) added that goes directly to the kitchen staff. At some restaurants this tend to add on can be tiresome or confusing, but at Corktown the cleanliness of the business, great attitude of the staff, quality of the food, and the generally comfortable vibe of the whole experience made it a pleasure to contribute. The whole establishment was just so clean and friendly and comfortable that it made us feel at home. The food and service have us wanting to go back. I think that they have recently moved to this location too so please go give them some love. You won't be disappointed! read more

While the city of of Duluth, MN may have gotten its legacy established in iron ore, it's become known in the past several years that Duluth has a new found fame for having an above-average-number of great food and beer joints per capita. And while well-known mainstays that are household names anchor the area the historic Canal Park area near the Lift Bridge just across from downtown, the "new kids" have made their own cool block a few miles down Superior Street in the Lincoln Park Craft District...and their food and drink options are arguably some of the best in the upper Midwest! On a recent fall weekend, my wife and I showed up early to a well-known smokehouse in Canal Park, only to be told that it was a 30-45 minute wait for food BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN OPEN (victims of their own success one might argue)!? Slightly annoyed, getting hungry, and ready to start driving to the State Parks south of town, we looked for another option - and fortuitously we ended up at Corktown Deli in the Lincoln Park Craft District. While a pretty concerted revitalization and a couple of local breweries may have put this corner of Duluth back on the map in the past few years, the food options here are fantastic and Corktown Deli is at the heart of the mix. Their collaborations with their friends across the street at OMC Smokehouse lead to sandwiches and sides that are not just a lunch "option", but are food you'll come back to Duluth for...and having top-notch Bent Paddle Brewing Company on tap, and literally out your back door, doesn't hurt either!? The sandwich names are inventive enough to peak curiosity, but the fresh flavors and plentiful helpings truly seal the deal. A bunch of artichoke...they got it. A sandwich with everything dill-based...yep, got that too and it's really "Kind of a Big Dill" (all puns intended, I'm sure). Their neighbor OMC Smokehouse's smoked salmon was the basis for my wife's sandwich, and it was among the best salmon we've ever had anywhere! I went for a handheld with thinly-sliced porchetta, smoked ham, apple chutney, and some fresh field greens that was equally amazing. A bacon and blue cheese potato salad side capped-off a really filing lunch that powered us for a full day of hiking...and firmly married the flavors of Corktown's amazing sandwiches with our visit to Duluth in our minds - and stomachs! We had to try this in it's new location. The food was amazing. I had the Thursday special turkey dinner which had everything you'd expect. Tender turkey and gravey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, maple glazed carrots and cranberry sauce. It was so good we joked about coming here next Thanksgiving - I would never think to go to a resturant for Thanksgiving but this food was great. Hubby had a Ruben with pepperjack cheese and homemade chips - his favorite. We both had the strawberry rhubarb lemondade which was refreshing. We split a piece of the chocolate cake - it's really enough for 4-5 people. Loved the cast iron on the wall. Although the food came quickly and service at the start was quick, it seemed like the wait staff was more interested in chatting at the register area than bringing our bill. We stopped in after discovering the wait across the street at OMC was too long for us. I wasn't expecting a whole lot but was pleasantly surprised. It was only after we ate here that I put two and two together and realized OMC AND the Corktown Deli are both operated by the folks over at the Duluth Grill, which is our favorite place to eat in the whole area. So big surprise, the food here is good. Anyway. So you walk in and there are tables for the taking. The counter is on the far end of the room with a menu board comprised of hanging clipboards. My husband and I split a sandwich and had some whitefish soup. The soup was flavorful but definitely very fishy due to the natural taste of whitefish - that's not a complaint - it was delicious. You know you can trust a place when there is a waitlist at 2pm, off peak meal time. I get a seat at the bar and was treated to some of the best service I've ever had. They were conversational, organized, friendly, no sweat even with as busy as it was. The Mafioso Meats was calling my name. WOW! What a punch in the tastebuds! Salami, pepperoni, and giardiniera are meant to be together. I'm making my way through it - oh God my mouth is on fire! My tongue, throat, lips. This is the hottest giardiniera I've ever had. This place is just a short walk from my office and it has the best sandwiches on earth! The gal that was talking about the vibe, yes ditto, super chill nice staff... They should probably consider opening up that other third of the bar for more seating again, but the little market fare there that was created is kind of cool. They have the OMC sauces for sale... highly recommended. The online takeout service is a great option too if you are wary of being close to some folks you don't know. First time here: we had the Dill inspired sun and the alabama slammer. both were good, although a little pricey at $11.99 a piece and an additional $3.50 each to add side and fountain pop. came to about $35 for the two of us. it was a very small place so we took out food to go and ate by the lake. overall, great food on the pricey side but we'll be back! read more

A fantastic addition to the Lincoln Park Craft District, Corktown has shown that they have some of the finest lunch selections and deli options in the Twin Ports! You shouldn't expect anything less from the owner, Tom Hanson, who also started up the best BBQ place in the area, OMC (just across the street) and Duluth Grill which is widely considered one of the best breakfast restaurants in Minnesota. Corktown defines itself in three ways; the premium deli cuts, the beer selection, and the community connection. I heard a buzz about this place being great but not very affordable, when I finally caved into checking this place out for myself, I found that most of the menu was reasonably priced for fantastically fresh foods. I only eat fish so I eagerly tried the Superior Sub (house smoke whitefish spread, brined onions, capers, dressed greens on a delicious baguette) and I was blown away! The flavor profile was extraordinary and very savory. I am hooked on these and the ingredients were very fresh. Pretty impressed they serve a variety of their deli meats for sale as well, including oysters, everything looks very fresh! The wrap around bar features a great selection of beers and wines. Most beers are made local and are a great variety with consistently rotated seasonal beers. At lunchtime, from 12 to 2, they serve "lunchies". 10 oz beers for $2, such a great deal! This place can bit on the noisier side during the lunch rush, just as a heads up. This has become one of my new favorite spots to grab lunch and a couple of the "lunchies" when looking to take a break for work! read more

This was probably the best Reuben I've ever had. I've had a lot of Reuben's!! I often think the bread is cut too thick just for the purpose of making the sa switch larger. Who wants more carbs?! Not me! I want more of the good stuff in the middle! My lunch partner ordered the Porcupine Princess (I'm sure there is a great story behind that name). Can I just say WOW?
