My favorite breakfast spot in Superior. Usually busy on weekends. Good, hearty meals. Flavored well and tastes like a home cooked meal. My go to is the Shipwreck Skillet. This has all meats, lots of veggies smothered in creamy dreamy hollandaise. You choose a side of bread or pancakes and you want the pancake. They are fluffy and taste of vanilla. Like dessert for breakfast. They have good lunch and dinner food. They always have a board with specials. They have bakery items like big homemade cookies for $1. I love the nautical theme with all the lighthouse decor. Great food, great service and friendly staff and that's why I keep coming back.

    Awesome local dinner.

I love finding restaurants like Julie's. Family owned, good home cooked meals and friendly, warm and efficient service. And such a wonderful city Superior WI is. Big enough to have everything you need but small enough to give you that warm and cozy feeling. Located right on the tip of one of the 5 Great Lakes,,,, you guessed it, Lake Superior! Lol. Julie's was the first stop of a 2 day drive on the way back from vacationing in Northern Minnesota heading back to Atlanta Georgia! Upon entering I could tell this was going to be a 5 star experience. The decor with all the light houses and boats to the aroma of heavenly brewed fresh coffee. I couldn't wait to get to my table! Greeted by a pleasant server (smiling) and asking how your morning is going, is so refreshing. It's amazing how something so small and simple can have such a big and lasting impact on your dining experience. The menu was chalked full of delicious looking dishes but having to sit in the car for hours ahead of me, I figured I better play it a little safe! Lol The thing about family owned diners is they know the difference between over easy and over medium. My eggs were perfectly done, the toast was actually toast and not warm bread! Lol. And the Hash Browns were toasty/ crunchy on the outside and soft and warm in the inside. Kudos to the chef! Just a wonderful experience. Best of luck to Julie's Family Restaurant.

Kid's menu with the best titles ever.

This place is your typical diner style restaurant with great food and great prices. We were in the Duluth/Superior area and stopped into Julie's on a busy Saturday morning for breakfast. The place was packed with smiling people - and few screaming kids - which clearly was what informed the kid's menu (photo below). I had an omelette - stuffed with tons of fillings!

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, and roll.

I stop every chance I get. The best hash browns anywhere. Lunch specials are good too. Clean and efficient. Good wait staff.

Even though we are visiting Duluth during this crazy time of the wild fires, Duluth Grill made our trip worth it! They have a streamlined process for getting seated, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and local area. My family ordered the usual staples: biscuits and gravy, pancakes and sausage, and bacon/eggs/sausage. All were hearty portions and perfectly prepped. I tried the "Triple B" which turns out to be a Midwest version of Bibimbop. Made with manoomin (wild rice), beef/pork mix, kimchi, marinated kale- probably my fave of the dish. The combo is a deliciously perfect power meal to start any day and weekend right! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the care they take in procuring local ingredients- even their kale and some herbs are from their own lil garden. I highly recommend the Duluth Grill, there's something for everyone! We will definitely stop by on our next trip out to Duluth.

When I…read morefirst saw mention of Anchor Bar, I wondered if it was a location of the Anchor Bar and Grill in Buffalo, NY (IYKYK). It is not associated in any way. I persuaded my wife to go for an early dinner. I told her my perception was a "dive bar". She wasn't too pleased and I told her maybe an "eclectic bar" would be a better description. Yes...an eclectic bar. Cash only with an ATM at the ready with only a $2.50 service fee (my bank refunds all ATM service fees). We got the last two seats at the bar. There were two people working the bar and they were extremely welcoming, friendly, and attentive. We are from Texas and as soon as I open my mouth, you can see the "look" on their face. We both were very glad we went. My wife ordered the California burger and I ordered the mushroom and swiss cheese with the addition of sauteed onions and bacon. My burger was absolutely delicious. My wife really enjoyed hers, but mentioned she wished she had ordered it medium. The fries were obviously hand-cut and I assume on the premises...hot and delicious. Don't worry about plenty of ketchup. The bar had several, very large bottles of Heinz ketchup within easy reach. Plenty of rolls of paper towels. We ordered two Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy drafts; nice and cold. They use a very unique pint glass with a hole and magnet in the bottom. The glass is placed on the machine and it is enters through the bottom. Never have seen this before. Ambiance? Very eclectic with a nautical theme. I loved this place! Again, both servers at the bar were very attentive. Never walked by without asking is everything OK, or if there was anything we needed. This is a must when in Superior or Duluth. Would return again and I highly recommend.

Everything looked super cute but there were coloring and crayon scribbles on everything. It was on the books, the tables the displays etc. I asked a local friend and they said this is normal. When the waitress went to take our drink orders she was ok slightly rude. We looked at our friend and he said they aren't known for their service and can be a little rude. I asked if it's like Dicks Last Resort and he laughed and said no. I think she was okay after that and was like a standard waitress at more restaurants after . I would just say dont expect bending over backwards to make the customer number 1 service . I'm okay with that. They have some very interesting and yummy selections for burgers . I got excited for a blue cheese Burger. I will say that my Pattie was very well done and the bun was on point. The blue cheese dressing top.... Not what I want for a blue cheese burger . I was expecting the blue cheese crumble. The fries... bomb! Definitely get fries. Do I want to go back? Maybe if can sit outside on a nice day. Sort of got the ick sitting inside but it's because I'm not a dive bar kind of girl.
