A friend and I were in the mood for some seafood. We found a place on Facebook and thought it looked like a good place to try. Well it ended up being a takeout only place that didn't have crawfish like the pictures on Fb. We quickly left and googled Seafood in the area. And that's when we found Corn and Crab!The restaurant had a good Cajun vibe. We ordered the Combo #1 with 2 lbs crawfish 1lb Peeled shrimp. The flavor we got was the "House Mix" which was the perfect amount of spiciness! The crawfish were pretty decent size and tasted great! It was a good amount of food for 2 people, But we decided to order a pound of snow crab after we finished with the crawfish and shrimp! It was great! Looking at all the 5 stars, the issue just might be me...... . I recently got a coupon in the mailer and decided to give this place a try. We usually drive out to Kickin Kasian in Northridge for our delicious Cajon fix and thought it would be nice to find a Cajon place near my house. I took my daughter here on a Saturday night around 5pm and it wasn't too crowded. The place was super clean and the wait staff was very nice. We got seated right away and ordered the following: Iced Tea ($3): It was served to me in a hot/cold 8 oz paper cup (filled with more ice than iced tea). I looked around at people that ordered an iced drink and their drinks were served in a nice plastic 16oz cold cup. My daughter got iced water and she got the 16oz plastic cup. I asked the waiter to change my cup to the plastic cup and he said that my paper cup is for both hot and cold and if I wanted it in the plastic cup, he would need to charge me for another iced tea because they do not offer free refills!!! WTF????!!!! OK, that really started my dinner off in a horrible note!!!! Chicken and Bacon Fried Rice ($11): it was tasty but the "bacon" was just unseasoned side pork, I didn't taste any bacon flavor. The Fried Rice was tasty but not for $11. I rather go to Sam Woo in Van Nuys for better fried rice and pay 3/4 the price. 1lb crawfish ($12): the seasoning was very tasty, crawfish was on the small side and we got a corn for $.75 and it was 1"x 3" (3" was for the diameter of the corn). 1lb Shrimp ($13): the seasoning was very tasty, the shrimp was pretty big and our $.75 corn was very skinny. It's been a while since I went to Corn N Crab and I don't know if I will ever want to go again, I'll just bite the bullet and drive out to Kickin Kasian in Northridge and for food, friendly employees and all the free refills I want!!!! read more

We drove all the way to this restaurant and arrived at 7:50. Their sign in front and in yelp and google clearly says that they close at 8:30. This skinny guy with tattoo on his neck who works there was extremely rude and told us that they were closed and the 8:30 rule was only for those who were currently dining in. We stepped out and another family arrived after us. That same guy sat them down immediately. I went in to complain why they were sat down and we werent. He made an excuse that the family was waiting for 30 minutes, which was bs because the family literally parked and arrived next to us. This was my first ever visit and I will not be back. Fish tasted sour and old. Then to top it off the amount of food they give you for the price they are charging is criminal. So disappointing. Wanted to try a new business in the area and left dissatisfied and irritated. Ordered 1/2 pound of Cajun style shrimp, which only had 2 pieces of shrimp in the bag! To be fair they were larger than average shrimp, but only two pieces nonetheless. Clam chowder was VERY runny and flavorless, almost as if a cup of water were added to a few tablespoons of soup to fill my bowl. I ended up ordering chicken strips and fries so that I wouldn't leave absolutely starving - but now regret that too. I have ate at many seafood Cajun style restaurants you can totally skip this place. I brought a large order 1lb of snow crab, king crab, whole shrimp, and two lobster baskets one with fried shrimp. It added up to a hundred dollars I thought not bad until I saw the portions. Very small the lobster basket doesn't have but maybe 6-10 small pieces in it! The photos are false advertisement. The food was delicious and they definitely are prepared for the mess that you inevitably end up making by putting paper over the table, bringing bibs and even plastic gloves. I ordered for the first time from this place last night. I am a MS girl who LOVES authentic Cajun food from New Orleans so much and I had a craving for it last night! I found this place on Instagram about a year or 2 ago and loved the way the pictures looked but never got up the nerve to actually try it until last night. I placed an online order and it was hot and ready as soon as I got there. We ordered the catfish basket, half a dozen chicken wings, 1lb of shrimp, 1lb of crab legs, corn potatoes, and sausage with house sauce (medium). The Catfish and chicken were seasoned very well and had a good crunch to them. The shrimp, sausage, and potatoes were so good and juicy! They were full of flavor. I wish the corn had been cooked a little longer so that it could have soaked up the juice too. It's wasn't raw but it wasn't fully cooked through. I also had a problem with some of the crab legs because they were lacking in meat in some places if that makes sense... The house sauce was VERY VERY delicious. I had more flavor than butter but still pretty buttery. That's true Louisiana style! It is certainly true as to other Yelpers' comments regarding the location of this establishment. It is oddly situated within a strip mall housing businesses ranging from tax returns, dry cleaners, to low-income food assistance. However this place is definitely a diamond in the rough! The establishment itself is very clean, modern, and spacious, with plenty of available seating when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. While of course there is always your usual fare of crawfish, clams, mussels, shrimps and crabs, I would HIGHLY recommend starting off your visit with a dozen (or more) of their raw oysters. While I'm not a fan of raw oysters, Corn N' Crab has the best, fresh raw oysters that I have ever had in my life! They were so light and refreshing. Even better than the ones in Tomales Bay! For appetizers, we got the Cajun Chicken Gizzards, chicken wings, and the sweet potato fries. Everything was good, but their fries were da bomb! Still drooling thinking about them now..... As for the main course, we ordered crawfish, clams, and shrimp in various sauces. While I had no complains regarding any of the sauce combos we tried, I would definitely suggest going for the garlic butter in at least a few of your orders since the butter really seeps in and makes everything so much better! An awesome part of Corn N' Crabs is that they offer both bibs AND gloves! If you don't get it right away, make sure to ask for them because they make the messy act of consuming all this deliciousness so much less messy. Afterwards, wipe your hands down with your leftover lemon slices and you'll be as fresh as daisies again. Parking is easily available outside in their open lot with reserved parking for their customers directly in front. If you stop by, ask for their manager Tan.
