This is Indiana Beach's most recent steel coaster and only ride in the entire park that takes you…read moreupside down. It initially wasn't running when we got there, but it did open up later in the afternoon with 2-car operation. The lift hill is pitched at 45° and takes you up to a height of 85 feet very quickly. The first drop is actually beyond vertical (105°, I believe), and the track layout is wonderfully twisted. Despite a short ride time, it's still a lot of fun to experience the unique elements (banking on the OUTSIDE of a turn, a downward-sloping in-line twist). The over-the-shoulder restraints are a tad uncomfortable, but necessary, as you do hang inverted for several seconds. Steel Hawg benefits from a very small footprint (amount of land it occupies), which is perfect for the needs of a space-limited park like Indiana Beach.

The exterior of the building has seen better days, and in broad day light, it looks rather run down. There is some weird parking in the front of the building but only enough for half a dozen cars. Back out straight into the street at your peril. Inside, the interior is circa 1990's, clean and cheerful. The bowling shoes are standard, but the balls have seen much better days long ago. The have chips and gouges all over. The games are computerized so it's one less thing to undermine your fun. There is table seating of four a step above for those waiting their turns and a stool in front of the computer below. The computer even gives you visual suggestions on where to throw and curve the ball for maximum results. If only my hand/eye coordination could follow directions. The ball retriever takes a bit of time, and the pin picker-upper gets stuck sometimes and doesn't knock down the pins. I call that an extra, free turn. You can push a button to force the machine to collect the pins. I forget the price of renting the shoes and per game, but I don't remember them being out of the ordinary. We met some lovely retired people bowling next to us, and in the other half of the building were tons of children. It seems the people assigning lanes takes into consideration where you should be placed based on how childless you are. I really appreciate the consideration because bowling is challenging enough for me without the distraction of screaming kids.

This park is behind a residential neighborhood and is next to a cemetery. It is huge and was opened…read morein 1985. This park has everything, and I do mean everything. The park has two very nice lighted baseball fields that are tournament ready. It also has a huge field with a bunch of soccer goals. It features a very nice splash pad that has a lot of fun stuff and seating on the perimeter for parents to sit. In addition to all of that the park has two horse shoe pits, two tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts (one is broken though), bathroom facilities, a very nice 1-mile paved multi-use trail that goes around the park and 2 picnic shelters with tables under them and a grills right outside. You can reserve a shelter on the city's website or at the town hall. The park's basketball court will do, but could use a little TLC. The tennis courts are adequate, Not the best, but I have seen much worse. The park is not short on green space. There is places that you can play catch, fly a kite, or have a picnic. The playground is awesome. It is right by the picnic shelter and is actually divided in to two area, one for infants/toddlers and one for all ages They have an old school merry-go-round, some traditional swings, see-saw, a balance beam, rockers, and each section has an age appropriate jungle gym with slides. The park is well maintained. I chatted with the man that was doing the daily maintenance while I was there. There is tons of free parking available around the park. Outside of a baseball/softball tournament, you should have no trouble finding a spot. I really like this park. You can spend a half to full day here. There is so much to do here. The only thing that is missing is a lake that you can paddle on and fish. I know that it is a bit off of the beaten path and not practical to visit if you do not live near here, but if you do make if here, you and your family will have a wonderful time.

There was a maintenance staff on site as well that did nothing to help the situation. My husband and I got to talking with her, & at a certain point we were just having fun bantering with her & others that came into the bar that we didn't even play games! We had so much fun just talking, we will definitely be coming again. Hopefully earlier rather than later, because Melissa is fun as hell to talk to & I'd come back to just hang out at the bar, watch TV & banter with her. The cosmic bowling looked cool, there's a bunch of pool tables & an air hockey station. They also have pizzeria style food(haven't tried yet). We definitely plan to go back, so I will update this when we actually play games. I just thought I should mention the epicness of our bartender, she singlehandedly made our night.

I have been to this location four times in the last four weeks and have met some very friendly people that run the place as well as the bowlers we have bowled with. I bowl on a league in another town and the atmosphere here is of no comparison. An interesting one, this…read more To start, you have to be 54" to ride the aptly-named "Tig'rr Coaster", which has the most stringent height requirement of any ride at Indiana Beach. It doesn't go upside down. So why 54" instead of the typical 48"? Because this Tig'rr has claws. It doesn't look like much, but make no mistake, it's an intense ride packed into a confined area. To make things even crazier, when I rode it for the very first time back in '03, there was no seatbelt restraint! That means that prior to 2004, besides gravity and common sense there was nothing stopping you from standing up and getting instantly decapitated by this ride. Apparently 4ft 6in is the magical number where you're discouraged from doing things that will immediately get your ass killed. Inherent safety issues aside, the seating arrangement is in-line, so the gf pretty much sat in my lap with my legs straddled on either side of her (I have no complaints about this). This Schwarzkopf 'Jet-Star' coaster model rides rough around the edges, but the benefit to this is that it's essentially a walk-up (zero minute wait). Hop on for a wild ride.....and for god's sake keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times!

Features some nice 'head-chopper' effects and dips very close to the water level for that extra thrill factor. There are some solid airtime spots over the 2,900 foot jaunt, but it definitely runs rough around the edges. While not as bad as Cedar Point's 'Mean Streak', there's still parts of the HH that need some major re-work. My girlfriend and I exited the ride (our last of the day) with a few bumps and bruises; her, an incessant pounding headache, and me, a sore ribcage and banged-up shin. I'm not saying it wasn't fun, because it was, but our personal comfort is worth more to us than that. This track badly needs re-profiling!
