The roads are a little confusing if some of them are one way or not. The waterfall area is quiet and pretty. They had some picnic tables. There was a staircase to view it closer and the stairs were a little sketchy. The beach area was pretty wide and we found space. They have a little snack area and a dive center. They also have an inflatable obstacle course for purchase. The restrooms were messy and smelled. The beach was clean and they had trash cans. The quarry water was clear and the water was nice. They have primitive camp sites and electrical sites. We saw that most of the electrical sites seem to have full time residents there. Overall it's a great spot to check out and relax at.

The exterior of the building has seen better days, and in broad day light, it looks rather run down. There is some weird parking in the front of the building but only enough for half a dozen cars. Back out straight into the street at your peril. Inside, the interior is circa 1990's, clean and cheerful. The bowling shoes are standard, but the balls have seen much better days long ago. The have chips and gouges all over. The games are computerized so it's one less thing to undermine your fun. There is table seating of four a step above for those waiting their turns and a stool in front of the computer below. The computer even gives you visual suggestions on where to throw and curve the ball for maximum results. If only my hand/eye coordination could follow directions. The ball retriever takes a bit of time, and the pin picker-upper gets stuck sometimes and doesn't knock down the pins. I call that an extra, free turn. You can push a button to force the machine to collect the pins. I forget the price of renting the shoes and per game, but I don't remember them being out of the ordinary. We met some lovely retired people bowling next to us, and in the other half of the building were tons of children. It seems the people assigning lanes takes into consideration where you should be placed based on how childless you are. I really appreciate the consideration because bowling is challenging enough for me without the distraction of screaming kids.

Great music, they only have Cosmic bowling on Fridays so come here for the cool cosmic art. We went inside the bar rather than the little window to get a drink. We met our server Melissa inside. My husband and I got to talking with her, & at a certain point we were just having fun bantering with her & others that came into the bar that we didn't even play games! We had so much fun just talking, we will definitely be coming again. Hopefully earlier rather than later, because Melissa is fun as hell to talk to & I'd come back to just hang out at the bar, watch TV & banter with her. The cosmic bowling looked cool, there's a bunch of pool tables & an air hockey station. They also have pizzeria style food(haven't tried yet). We definitely plan to go back, so I will update this when we actually play games. I just thought I should mention the epicness of our bartender, she singlehandedly made our night.

I have been to this location four times in the last four weeks and have met some very friendly people that run the place as well as the bowlers we have bowled with. I bowl on a league in another town and the atmosphere here is of no comparison. This park is is small area located right in the middle of a somewhat busy thoroughfare. In the…read morecenter of the park is a statue of Major General Robert Milroy, a Union General and Indiana native. The statue is on a pedestal. General Milroy is most noted for his defeat at the Second Battle of Winchester in 1863. In 1850, he was a lawyer and judge in Rensselaer. Milroy recruited a company for the 9th Indiana Militia with men living around the town. Milroy's Rensselaer was and bad shape and eventually was torn down in 1902. The site of the home is now where the park sits. On July 4, 1910, they unveiled a statue of Milroy at an Independence Day assembly of around 10,000 people. It was one of the largest crowds Rensselaer had ever seen. The statue was sculpted by Rensselaer native Mary Washburn and also memorialized on the statue is Milroy's friend and fellow officer, Ben Summit. The park has a glider swing and some green space, but is not really a park to just hang out. While I was there they had themed pumpkin scenes set up along the walkway like some type of public art. It looked like they were having a pumpkin decoration competition of sorts. The park is the site of events like rallies and is well maintained. There is not really much parking available, but this is not that type of park anyway. If you do choose to park here then you can park on the street, in front of one of the nearby houses. This is more of a local park and not a destination park. There is not much utility for this park outside of an organized event or a brief stop on your way to another place.

This is a small park that consist of a playground area and a shelter (Barnes Shelter). The shelter…read moreis decent. It has a bunch of picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. There is a scary restroom facility inside of the shelter. I was not feeling adventurous, so I looked from a far. There is not an official parking lot, but there are ample places to park. The playground is lined with wood chips and the equipment has seen better days. The parks equipment includes a jungle gym with slides and a rock climbing wall and a set of the older style swings. The equipment is playable, but the park is off the beaten path. The park needs a little TLC, which is ironic because it is co-located with the Parks and Rec Department. Anyway, I would probably check out another park if I wanted to play. It is deep enough out of the way that it may make it a decent spot to host an event and use the shelter. This park will do in a pinch or if you do not want to go to a busier park. But it definitely would not be my first choice or go to.
