Really good food but stick to the menu where you can actually see the prices. Regular menu items run about $22-$35. If you order a special menu offering get ready to spend double. $50 Beef Wellington, $59 Surf & Turf. Dirty trick Corn Dance. If you are going to charge double for the specials at least post the prices. Sad that feel you have to trick people to make money. On principal I won't go back. read more

Amazing! Fabulous food!!!!! I'm as picky as they come! I prefer Chicago fine fine dining and this place met my high standards! The cesar salad was wonderful! I compare it to One of the best salads I have ever tasted at the sw steakhouse in las Vegas Wynn casino. Pizzas are very delicious! And the dessert! OMG!! This was a couple years ago, but I won't go back because of the snooty factor we perceived. I've never eaten here. We walked out after waiting for "15 mintues" (45 mins) while three hostesses stood around and talked among themselves. We were walked through a half empty seating area to be seated in a separated dining area for families with children (Two young adults in shorts and t-shirts. No children in our party.) The only other party in the room had young children. We didn't realize it was so expensive, and the menu stated there is a fee if you split dishes, so we decided to pass since nothing looked super interesting. The waiter was very polite to us so we left him a tip for his trouble and bowed out. As we walked past, the hostesses sniggered. Since the hostesses clearly knew we were outclassed on this occasion, and it was clear we had never been there, why not offer us a menu while we waited to hint that maybe it's not worth the wait for us? Dress for dinner, or be prepared to see crayons on your place mat. read more

I find it hilarious that some people want to say how SO many things are microwaved. I worked there for over 4 yrs and there is 1 I repeat 1 microwave in the entire place and it isn't in the kitchen. It's in the pizza station. It is used to warm some of the sauces for desserts. If you don't like the place fine but don't lie or give some BS review to make yourself feel better! read more

Not worth the money. Food was ok, some better than others, some was cold. We waited a long time for everything, even just to get our drinks and a basket of bread. MENU IS NOT ALLERGY FRIENDLY. I had a horrible time finding something I could eat. I'm allergic to nuts, seafood, wheat and corn. All of the appetizers featured on the night we went were seafood. All of the salads had nuts. Service was PAINFULLY slow, even though the restaurant was not busy. Not worth the prices. Don't waste your time. read more

Have to agree with the review of Sara L from Mishawaka. If you are a doctor, attorney, or a high wage manager ( like the one we know that sat next to us) and price and value is no object -then the place is for you. If you are a working stiff, then it will be hard to justify the cost- for us, 3 adults and a child, I had a salad, one friend a hamburger and another an average priced steak and the cost was over $100.00-ouch. Service wasn't that great- my drink wasn't refilled, server aggressively tried to steer us to more expensive offerings, atmosphere is plain. We were very impressed with the food. I had the Bison steak with the garlic crust and it was excellent. My wife had a ravioli that did not look good when it came to the table but she said it was very tastey. She also had the mozzarella salad and thought it was very good as well. I am not sure why they other reviews did not like it. The fresh baked bread came to the table fresh out of the oven and was very good. The desert was one of the best that I have ever had. It was some kind of banana with cream and cookies. The service was good but could have been more attentive with keeping water glasses filled. Overall the dinner was very good. read more

Definitely one of the best restaurants in the south bend area--it lives up to the reputation I heard it had. Went in on a busy night and were seated immediately. Server was friendly. I really enjoyed the bison I had; it may be the greatest hamburger I've ever eaten. We both enjoyed the spinach-artichoke dip and the quinoa salad, as well. The only odd thing was when I ordered a beer from Evil Czech Brewery (which the owners of corndance own as well, I understand), instead of being served on draft, which I expected as the Evil Czech Brewery is literally six blocks from the restaurant, the beer was served in a tall can in a paper bag, for some reason, as if they went out and bought it at the liquor store. I ordered another beer and it was served in the same manner. It was unique, i'll say...I've never had a beer out of a paper bag before (or at least, not while in a restaurant I haven't). It just seemed to clash with the overall sense of classiness of the restaurant. Pricey for south bend standards, but hey, it really is that much better than basically everything else in the area. Great place! Every time I go here I am treated like a King! Food is great! The chef came to our table to give us the most descriptive explanation of a menu I have ever heard. I had the John Adams sword dish and my fiancée had the grilled chicken dish which was absolutely amazing. We received a gift card for Christmas, so I wanted to see if Corndance had changed its ways in terms of their SERVICE since I'd last visited. Nope. Not a tiny bit. I was meeting Hubs for dinner after work and we were arriving separately. I walked in at 5:10 p.m. and found no one at the Hostess stand, so I figured I'd walk into the bar to find a seat since it's open seating. A Couple that were enjoying a glass of wine were seated at the bar, but no other guests at that point. The bartender and a handful of servers were standing at the opposite end of the bar talking... most likely going over the days Features, but I'm guessing since not a SINGLE PERSON ACKNOWLEDGED ME OR SPOKE A SINGLE WORD OF GREETING. I found a table and sat down and waited for someone to ask me what I'd like to drink or if I was meeting someone or at least hello. No... nothing. I sat for a full 7 minutes in complete silence until Hubs walked into the bar. Once he sat down, a male server (who never shared his name) walked over and asked us if we were dining in and if we wanted something to drink. The server was friendly enough and tried to be witty at times over the course of our time there, but really not what I'd consider excellent service. I'm still amazed that the level of service is so lacking. Our meal was over $100 for the two of us, so I don't consider that a cheap stop by any means. Management obviously doesn't read the reviews that are posted here so I won't waste any more time by doing so. A little bit of enthusiasm from the wait staff to let their guests know that they appreciate their business would be a very good start... but what do I know? read more

This was my second trip to Corndance. The first experience was on Mother's Day which was a huge disappointment. Buffet was the only offering and it was poorly managed lines and the food was not outstanding. We tried tonight again for my mother's 91st birthday. I made reservations for very early 5:00. Morning mother has difficulty walking so we use a wheelchair for her. We get to the parking lot and can't even tell where the handicap parking is. There are no signs just paint in the pavement which is covered with snow. The ramp available was blocked by a car. When we arrived we were seated in the room with the butcher case! Not only is the smell awful it was 18 degrees outside and there are windows everywhere! I went back to the hostess and requested to be moved and she stated that was the only place to accommodate a wheelchair! But she did offered to light a candle! We were ready to leave when another server stated they would seat us elsewhere. There was a ramp to the dining room and mostly empty tables. It was at if they didn't want a wheelchair in their dining room. I believe there is a ADA law that requires business to provide accommodations. This experience was a very poor start to a meal. No one even apologized. Our meal was fine. The steaks were done as ordered. They did bring a chocolate dessert for my mother. Considering the very high prices of our meal everything is a la carte this place is not exceptional. I would go to Lasalle Grill and get first class service with less money and feel like a had a great dining experience. read more

I went to Corndance last night with a few friends to celebrate my birthday. This was not my first time at Corndance and went back because of a positive first experience. The food itself was wonderful, but the issue that I had was the incredibly poor service. While the restaurant was barely half full, if it was that, the wait staff was slow and inattentive. My party of three waited in excess of an hour for our entrees. The staff had limited interaction with us, or other tables, as they stood in a group behind us talking to one another most of the night rather than being attentive to their tables. At the end of the meal we skipped dessert since we didn't want to sit around for another hour. Corndance Tavern clearly disappointed me last night and has much work to do regarding service! read more

We were 4/16/17,there this past Saturday for our anniversary. We have liked this place in the past but we were disappointed in both atmosphere and food. We were seated in a "party room" with several large parties. The acoustics were so bad, we had to shout at each other to be heard. Not the romantic dinner we had in mind. My martini was watered down to the point of flavorless, but the ahi tuna appetizer was the excellent. My dry aged steak was ordered medium rare to rare. My hubby had a filet cooked well. When they came out, his was still under cooked with lots of red. My t-bone was well done and sent back. Another came out quickly but had a very moldy flavor to it. Never had an aged steak taste like this. Service was just Ok. We won't be going back anytime soon, sadly. read more

This is the best restaurant in South Bend, bar none. The service is always phenomenal, and everything I've ever tried there has been amazing. Get the Bison Meatloaf if you're feeling cheap, the Sword of John Adams if you're flush with cash, or the Fried Chicken if you're somewhere in between.
