There was no wait, we got seated immediately, our server was great, and overall service was great-General manager came to apologize for our sandwich taking too long to come out. We got fried okra, loaded tater tots Chicken and waffle- 2 small chicken pieces over 4 pieces of waffle (I would ask for an extra chicken piece) Monte cristo - too much meat stuffed between powdered French toast (its sweet and savory but I think it had more meat than needed) Bacon, pinento, tomato sandwich - good but very greasy. First, let me preface this with - we went on opening night. There are always glitches or miscues that need to be worked out. The most obvious was the delay in one of our entrees and the soup not arriving as an appetizer, as requested. Despite the parking lot looking almost full, we were sat immediately. It is a smaller restaurant but they can pack them in. There is a restaurant area and a bar area. Both areas have multiple televisions. There is a yet to be opened outdoor area that has brackets for 4 more TVs. I think this will be a popular place on Saturdays in the fall. I had the soup and a burger and he had wings. Kiddos had grilled cheese and turkey sandwich. The soup was delish! I would come back just for it. It's hard to find good non-cream/milk based soups. I finished my cup ($4) and wished I had gotten the bowl ($6). It was hearty and seasoned just right. The burger was a little plain jane, but the brioche bun was good. Had I added some of the extras, it may have helped, but I ordered it as is. The beef was over cooked for medium well and the outside was black. The inside lacked flavor, but wasn't bad. It just didn't exceed expectations. Maybe if they seasoned the ground beef a bit more. The fries were good and had a healthy salting, so beware if you don't like salt (I mean a lot of salt) on your fries. The wings were scored at a 6-7 on a scale of 10. They were sized nicely for the price. The dipping sauces were extra on our bill. Add a side of salty fries and you have a meal. (Disclaimer - he didn't mind the salt and ate them all.) The kid's turkey sandwich is a carved loose turkey on a brioche bun. It looked good, but was hard for the kiddo to hold. The grilled cheese didn't get any complaints and was enjoyed with mac and cheese. We had milk to drink, which was served in some big glasses. They don't skimp on the milk portion but the trade-off is refills are not free. We would come back here, but I'd try something else on the menu next time to go with my new favorite soup! read more

We arrived at 6 o'clock and there was a 30 minute wait which is not too bad for a Saturday in Knoxville. We started out with the Smoked Sausage Cheese Plate and it was wonderful. Smoked sausage, 2 types of cheese, pickles, jalapeños, toasted bread accompanied with a mustard sauce and BBQ sauce. Smoky, cheesy, spicy and crunchy... yuuuum! So far so good. My wife ordered the BLT for her entree and she really enjoyed it. The bacon was delicious! Really thick and definitely smoked which added a different flavor compared to most BLT's. The waitress said that they take pride in their bacon and it shows! It was accompanied with Fries which to me tasted like a mix between McDonald's and Burger King. And yes that is a good thing. I ordered the 7 oz Sirloin cooked to medium rare with Smokehouse potatoes.... WOWSERS! The steak was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor! I loved that piece of meat so much that I had to stop myself from mooing! Marinating the steak in mustard and beer sets up a wonderful flavor profile. Also, it's topped with Worcestershire Butter that added another layer of flavor. Holy cow... literally! I only gave them 4 stars because the Mac and Cheese and Smokehouse potatoes were mediocre. But I still highly recommend Corner 16. Copper Cellar family of restaurants has another winner in my book! Get there early if you are coming on a Saturday because it was really busy after 6. Our first time here and we thought overall it was fine. Our server Raffaela was excellent. We opted for splitting two appetizers the fried green tomatoes and the brisket chili nachos. I thought breading on the Fried Green Tomatoes needed more seasoning, possible pepper and salt but overall we liked the dish. I called Corner 16 to see about reserving a table for a birthday in the bar area for a Monday night. We wanted the community table that seats 10 people near the door. However, I was told that table is permanently reserved on Mondays. Apparently, they do something called Singo on Mondays and the manager's girlfriend and her family are the only ones who can sit there. I was offered a table outside, but we have older people in our party and it's too hot to sit outdoors. Guess they don't want our business. I was able to get a reservation down the road at Aubrey's. They were more than happy to accommodate our party. read more

Having recently relocated here, I'm not familiar with the restaurants in the area. I'm also not currently employed so going out to eat is truly a luxury. When it came time to celebrate my good friend's 55th birthday, I turned to Yelp for, uh, help. The reviews were AMAZING! Everything from the food & homemade sauces to the eclectic drink selection & desserts were off the charts! But perhaps the most intriguing aspect of nearly every review was the accolades about Nick the server. Was this guy for real?? I HAD to find out. So I called & made a reservation with Ashley - specifically requesting to be seated in Nick's section. Who makes reservations these days - esp at a casual restaurant on a Tuesday night? NOBODY! But I wanted a memorable experience & didn't want to leave anything to chance. Imagine my surprise when we arrive only to discover Nick wasn't working that night? Fortunately, Summer "S" was knowledgeable, accommodating & very friendly. Unfortunately, her great service couldn't make up for the food - which was good, but nothing to write home about. The wings were - not great, the fried green tomatoes (which had received stellar reviews) had a distinct, heavy oil taste & there was nothing special about the chicken parm (which, ironically, was the special). The chicken was moist but lacked seasoning & the marinara was bland. On the plus side, the chili was excellent & the homemade blue cheese dressing positively stellar! Look. I get that food's purely a subjective thing & it's impossible to please everyone. Maybe the fact that I'd read so many positive reviews was the ultimate "setup" for unmet expectations? And, while we were certainly happy with the service we received, the fact that I called in advance & specifically requested a particular server only to be told when I arrived that this server was off is inexcusable. Party of 4 and 2 people got the beef brisket which was 75% fat. I got fish and chips and the fish was in square chunks meaning they were compressed, fish "sticks" rather than fish filets. They advertise a "happy hour" but when we asked about it, the waitress said "that only applies to the bar area". What??? And when asked about other draft or bottled beer other than their own craft beer we were told "we don't have any". And to cap it off, they screwed up the bill. read more

My husband had heard about this place and we decided to check it out. Absolutely the best meal we have eaten out in ages. He got their signature burger and onion rings and couldn't stop talking about them. I got the Monte Cristo with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was outstanding and came with warm maple syrup. The fries came with a brown sugar sauce for dipping that I could have eaten by the gallon. Rebecca, our server, was terrific and took great care of us. This was my first time. Ate inside, very noisy place. Food was good, I had the California Chicken. If you need gluten free they are lacking in selections. My fiance and I hadn't had a date night in forever so we traveled from Roane County to try this place (about 45 mins) with our 6 month old. We got there and ordered an appetizer and I got a helles. I was disappointed the beer was basically room temperature but the fried pickles were amazing! Probably the best I've ever had. We ordered our food and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Others came in and were served as we just kept waiting. Our server finally passed by us and quickly told us that our food had been given to another table by mistake and they were remaking ours. So we were like ok no big deal thinking probably just wait another 5 minutes or so and it'll be out. She came out and brought us a plate of cold French fries and said her manager said to give these to us and make sure we were good. We nibbled on them a bit but they were cold and just not good. So we waited longer and longer and longer, all the people who came in way after us were already eating and by this point we had been waiting for our food for an hour and our 6 month old was getting upset so we asked the server to have them box our food to go and bring our check. $50 spent on a date night we didn't really even get to have, and our food was cold by the time we got home because we had traveled so far to try the place. We did heat it up and it was very good which is the only reason I didn't give one star. We are usually very generous tippers and very grateful for service and we understand things happen, as food service workers are busy and it's a stressful environment and wires get crossed and they work hard etc etc, but it didn't seem like they cared much. Our dinner was given to someone else and we just nibbled on cold fries. I don't think we will ever be back to dine in, but I would still maybe order to-go as the food was great. It probably would've been even better fresh on the table. So use caution if you expect great service, go for it if you like good food! read more

It came with syrup and I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. There was quite a bit of fat, but that didn't bother me. For entrees, I ordered country fried steak and she ordered salmon. Neither were bad, but we agreed other places have better versions. I don't believe either of us finished the entrees. I ordered a.side of cream corn and it was delicious. She ordered two sides -- a green (can't recall what) and mushrooms. She really liked.the mushrooms. We may return at some point, but won't order those same entrees. Tried this place because we were given a gift card. It is quite a drive from our home, with many more options on the way, but I will most certainly be trying this place again. I was very impressed with their house-made sodas, I tried the cherry vanilla one. I have already made plans to come back and try the other options. I had their corner 16 sub and it was very good. The bacon on it was so yummy and thick! The manager came to our table to make sure our food & service was great and I always think that's a nice touch. read more

This was my third and last try eating here (the other two times were way before Covid). Bloody Mary was average just celery and a lime so I asked for olives which I had to ask for two times. No biggie but strange to me a Bloody Mary with no olives. That wasn't even the real issue. My food was so SALTY and I like me some flavorful food with salt but this was so salty I felt I needed something to rinse my mouth out. I had the country fried steak with cornbread dressing. Couldn't even eat the dressing it was beyond salty. Three of us at the table ordered the same thing we all went home and instantly had "upset" stomach! Sorry I hate to leave negative reviews and have only left a few ever in my life but honestly it's overpriced and the food just isn't that good and had a brutal after effect.
