Food is inconsistent, service is good, cocktails are nice they use fresh squeezed juice

We had a group brunch today and were not disappointed. I ordered the blackberry mojito for my drink, and it is one of the best tasting drinks. The amount of blackberry is on point with the alcohol. I had the chicken and waffles, and the server made me aware that I could choose any waffle. So I got the Blueberry chicken and waffles. The Blueberry waffles were cooked perfectly and went extremely well with the chicken. Some of the best chicken and waffles I have ever had. I tried my wife's omelet too, as if had spinach, sausage, and cheese. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, so it was very tasty too. Absolutely horrible! Waited 15+ minutes for waitress to come to table, food took forever after she finally did put order in and was tasteless bar food. I kept suggesting we should just leave and go elsewhere once the wait was over 30 minutes. Also, we felt like we were in a kids playground area with kids literally running unattended in and out the door from the outside play area to their parents table about every 3 seconds. Decent food, same owners as Calhoun's and Aubrey's so if you've been to either of those expect the same style. Would highly recommend their specialty sodas, all of them are great. Happy hour 4-7 Monday through Thursday. Patio seating is a nice space, dog friendly on patio only. Service is always good. read more

We visited a friend yesterday and had lunch at Corner 16 which is just around the corner from her house. This was our 2nd time here. It's a great feel when you walk in...nice atmosphere and decor. The music was blasting with 70's rock (Rush music when we walked in) which was over the top for our elderly lady friend. Our waitress, Olivia, was absolutely wonderful and when our friend asked her if it could be tuned down, she graciously had it done in our section. I ordered the salad with Sashimi and Asian Dressing and liked it. My husband ordered the BLT and just told me today how bad it was, saying the bacon was cooked so much it was like biting into broken glass. He's not one to complain or be picky so didn't want to say anything in front of our long time elderly friend who invited us to lunch. We would go back but stay away from the BLT with the super thick bread. read more

First time at this place. Didn't know it was a copper cellar restaurant till we got through the door and saw the all too familiar cooler with smoky mountain brewery beers. Place is clean, well lit and they are enforcing the social distancing. We were seated right away, and ordered drinks. Our server was very attentive, and offered help navigating the menu. I ordered the corner 16 Burger and she had the fish and chips. She was allowed another side and from the menu. However she really wanted the okra from the appetizers. Pro tip, they allowed the okra from the appetizer menu for a three dollar upcharge. Sure beat the $8.65 appetizer price. And was the perfect portion size for a side item. Everything was served hot and was tasty. My only critique for this or any other copper cellar location is it gets long in the tooth to see the same menu items that you can get at Calhoun's or Smoky Mountain Brewery etc.. the specials were a half rack of ribs, or the ale steak etc.. if I wanted those items I would have just gone to Calhoun's. Other than that you can't go wrong with a Copper Cellar family of restaurants. Always a good meal! read more

We had a great lunch today at Corner 16. Casual atmosphere, friendly staff and a large variety on the menu. Different menu from the other Copper Cellar restaurants. I had the meatloaf, with brown gravy, mashed potatoes and onion rings. The meatloaf and potatoes were good. The others in our party had burgers, brisket sandwich, a sub. Everything looked and tasted great! My brother had the Monte Cristo sandwich. It looked amazing! We all agreed Corner 16 was an excellent choice and we will be back. read more

This was my 3rd experience here and my first review. We had a nice dinner after the game tonight. A very attentive server who made sure everything was great. I ordered the hot butter bacon turkey with grits. The sandwich was good and the bacon was great. The grits could have had more cheese. My husband had the farmer salad and BLT sandwich. He liked his salad and BLT but thought it was a little dry. He also ordered the creamed corn which was wonderful! When we walked in it was dead it took 10 minutes before a host even sat us in the bar area not only that were disappointed in the quality of food lately. We ordered chicken tenders and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was heated up in the microwave resulting in a hot bowl and cold food in the center. My boyfriend ordered salmon and mashed potatoes. Disappointed in my food to say the least . I've gone and just gotten dessert but I did carry out since I live about 5 minutes and had a couple of things to do that night . I wanted to try out a full meal from them so I got the hickory smoked meatloaf with their special potatoes and Mac and cheese. My food was room temp when I took it home and like I said I live really close. The meatloaf was hard and had a weird after taste of burnt meat. The potatoes were mushy and didn't really have much flavor .. it was a strange consistency in my mouth. The Mac and cheese was maybe the closest thing to a decent side dish. I didn't know what to think since all the raving reviews were the reason why I decided to try it out. Maybe it wasn't a good day for the kitchen . I appreciate the portion size but if the food didn't really satisfy or was memorable to me what makes you think I want to eat the left overs the next day . Not sure if to give it another try since I was really upset with the flavors and the food really didn't look appetizing in a plate. read more

Solid southern comfort food! It was my first time and I ordered the "Rocky Top Hot Brown." It sounded really interesting to me because it's an open faced turkey sandwich that has bacon, a special cheese sauce, and a fried egg. I'm glad I ordered it though! My only complaint was that it was a little dry and could have used a bit more sauce. We also shared the jalapeño poppers and those were good as well. Everyone was pleased with their meals and we had an overall positive experience! I really like the atmosphere here. The inside is very comfortable and they have great outdoor seating and places where you can play corn hole and just relax with friends. I will happily come here again! read more

Really enjoyed my first visit! The menu has alot of options but the service staff had tons of great recommendations and the food was great. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. The restaurant can be a little loud if you go right in the lunch rush and all the tv channels were on sports. Tried the custom sodas and they were a hit! 4 Stars is a bit generous, maybe 3 1/2 stars. Pros: Nice interior. Great service. Tuna steak is fantastic. They let us substitute sides. Tomato pie, sounds weird, is awesome. Gotta try it. Food is ok. They serve their own craft beer. Hellas Vellas is great. Lots of parking. Cons: It sometimes takes longer to get a drink order than your food order. I don't know what is up with that but it is the same in a number of their other restaurants. It's strange. I got chicken fried steak. Generous portion but there was something not right about the taste. I think maybe the oil was getting old. It's not cheap. $85 for 2 meals, a couple drinks and beers and a tip. I prefer Calhoun's. **2.5 stars** We came here to meet up with some friends, and this place is alright. I would compare this place to a Cheddar's if you have ever been to one or more similarly, TGI Fridays or Chili's. If you can think of those places it's in the same category. The food is so so, beer and alcohol, and then you have TVs everywhere. Anyways, onto the food. I got the BLT because coming from the pictures, it would be massive and then when you read the description on the menu: Half Pound of Bacon. Yeah. Half Pound. That's a lot of freaking bacon. However, it was a let down. What I got was just 2 pieces of bacon on each half slice. So 2 strips, put it in a sandwich and then sliced. Some of these other pictures it looked like 4 strips and then sliced which to me sounded more like half pound which is what drew me to order it. It wasn't half pound. Taste wise? It's a BLT. There's nothing to it. Super simplistic. But half pound bacon sell was deceiving. The service was okay, nothing stellar, just normal. Overall it's exactly what I said. It's normal, except the fact the restaurant lied to me about a half pound of bacon. I guess I need to take menu descriptions light and not to it's word now. read more

Loved it! I had the Monte Cristo and the Loaded Tater Tots. The Monte Cristo was interesting because of the turkey, French toast and syrup all interesting combo. But I would probably not get that again. I did love chicken and waffles my friends got I had a bite it was delicious. The service was very good Matthew was very attentive, at one point my food was 2 minutes late the manager came and apologized. I had the BLT. It was very good. Thick slices of bacon. So big I had to take half of it home with me. The deviled egg appetizer was OK, nothing really special. I ordered grits with bacon, but I got hash browns with bacon. It was pretty good, however. Most of the beers available at the other Conner's locations are available here. Service was excellent. The ambiance was nice. We didn't experience it tonight, but the outdoor patio area (with fans!) looks fun. read more

I called Corner 16 to see about reserving a table for a birthday in the bar area for a Monday night. We wanted the community table that seats 10 people near the door. However, I was told that table is permanently reserved on Mondays. Apparently, they do something called Singo on Mondays and the manager's girlfriend and her family are the only ones who can sit there. I was offered a table outside, but we have older people in our party and it's too hot to sit outdoors. Guess they don't want our business. I was able to get a reservation down the road at Aubrey's. They were more than happy to accommodate our party. read more

There was no wait, we got seated immediately, our server was great, and overall service was great-General manager came to apologize for our sandwich taking too long to come out. We got fried okra, loaded tater tots Chicken and waffle- 2 small chicken pieces over 4 pieces of waffle (I would ask for an extra chicken piece) Monte cristo - too much meat stuffed between powdered French toast (its sweet and savory but I think it had more meat than needed) Bacon, pinento, tomato sandwich - good but very greasy. My wife and I have been steady customers of this corner 16 location as well as other restaurants that is part of the same corporation including Calhouns and smoky Mountain brewery for many years. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my wife's 70 birthday, we had a party of 11 including children. My daughter-in-law made the reservations and had never been here before nor have her family. We thought this would be a great place to celebrate especially with having five kids so they can entertain and play outside. So they seated on inside right next to the kitchen, after we finished eating, and spent around $200. My wife had gone to the host and asked if we could move outside so we could watch the kids while we had a specialty birthday cake that my daughter in law brought and to have cocktails. The host said he had just started and didn't know but he would ask the other hostess. She said she would have to ask the manager if we could do this, he told her that he was busy and it would come talk to us in a few minutes. When he finally did come out, He really did not like the idea they were going to be sitting outside after already having dinner, even though there was not a wait line, and there were several empty tables on the outside dining section. He finally said that we could sit outside, but not under the roof, he was very cold and not at all friendly since he did not like this idea and good see and feel his terrible attitude. ( I wish my wife would of asked what his name was) As regular customers, my wife and I usually sit at the bar about once a month, as a matter fact we speak with Mike Chase quite often that's usually there. I wish he would've been here last night and I hope that he reads this. I can assure you that we will never be back to this location again as well as my daughter-in-law and her husband and family will do the same and I won't recommend anyone to dine at this location. This was very unprofessional and not about service. I could understand if there was a waiting line and it was busy. I could totally get that but unfortunately it wasn't and this was not handled like it should've been. Terrible dining experience! read more
