Love this place for casual dining. Knoxville hot brown is my go to! Service is great as well.

First impressions are lasting and this place created a memory that will last. The staff proved friendly and welcoming. The food hit the spot and above all the place was spotless! Cleanliness is highly important in this competitive industry and perhaps we just caught them on an exceptional day but this place passed a white glove test with flying colors... not that I actually wore white gloves mind you. Start with the deviled eggs, move on to a soup then enjoy a nice cod or chop. I did not sample the drink or desert menu but if that is what you're feeling in the moment they have some good options. The building and dining area are fine. The service is slow and indifferent, the food very plain and unexciting.

The food was great, once we finally got it. In all fairness, they were slammed. Two of our four meals came out about 10 minutes before the others though. The wings were really good! Overall it was a good experience, would probably try to go back when they weren't quite as busy. read more

W lien we pulled up the place looked packed with people waiting outside but they did a good job of getting us in after about 20-25 minutes. We ordered the bacon wrapped brisket for an appetizer which was very good but not very filling, if you're ordering for a table larger than two I would recommend something else maybe two of these. I had the ale pork chops with smokehouse potatoes which are almost like shredded hash brown potatoes with a good Smokey flavor. My meal was perfect both in taste and amount of food. They don't have the peanut butter pie anymore so I went with banana pudding which was also very good. I definitely recommend and will return my next time in Knoxville. read more

Fish and chips: 5 small, very thin pieces of fish that appeared to be cod. Fish batter came out looking pale-ish, like it needed more cook. Fish was cooked through, it just looked unappealing. On Sunday August 21, 2022 my family and I had the pleasure of being served by Natasha. immediately upon meeting her I felt that she was very likable and authentic. Sometimes you can get a look into somebody's soul and see their true character. I was impressed. She is as sharp as a Damascus sword, a great listener, and has a great eye on her customers needs while dining. She was on it! How she carried herself tells me a lot about her leadership. It is very evident that they hire for character. My ale steak was outstanding. My mother and my brother really loved the flavor of their food. it was a great casual dining environment. Went today for a late lunch. The food was descent a little over priced for the quality and quantity of food. Service was not great. Had tea spilled on my white skirt, had to ask for app plates, and waited a while for food to come out. It's not a favorite place of ours. I went 1 week ago and Taylor was my server. I got the fried pickles, chicken & dumplings & creamed corn. It was sooo good that I was craving it again. Jayden was my server tonight and I decided to try the deviled eggs instead. Got the chicken & dumplings & creamed corn again. The consistency of the creamed corn was different, but it still tasted scrumptious. It did not disappoint! Both servers are amazing and I love the vibe here at Corner16. First time here I like the location and the looks of the building in the inside very nice bar looks great. For us food was OK but over priced. Fish and chips were OK but the brisket sandwich had way too much smoke and then the greens had way too much smoke and they were not cooked and they had lots of stems. I had ice tea with lemon and unfortunately the lemon still had the sticker on it which to me shows they did not wash the lemons before they cut them up. read more

The food and drink were amazing. The service was terrible. We used Uber to get there and back because we wanted to drink. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. We were only able to get 2 drinks a piece. I was only able to get 1 glass of water. The waitress was way over worked. She waited until the end when she brought our check to tell us there was only 1 bar tender for the whole restaurant. We only seem about 4 waitress for the whole restaurant. They had 3 hoste that stood at the front door and did nothing all night. I believe it is a complete management issue. We had fried pickles. Absolutely awesome! They are completely different than anywhere else. They use spears and just have a different taste than any other pickle. We will diffently get them everytime we go. The fried green tomatoes were cooked just perfect. Really great flavor. California chicken is great. Full of flavor. Everything taste fresh. Build a hamburger is awesome. It does not taste like a frozen patty. The thick cut bacon is really good. You get 4 peices. If they improve the service I will be willing to change my review to 5 stars read more

We eat here often. There food is very consistent and majority of the time we have good service. Last night, we met some friends there and sat in the bar at a high top. The server greeted us and I have to say he was exceptional at his job. He even said that we were the best people he had ever served (that was after we had closed the check out...lol). On our way back to Nashville, we stopped in Knoxville to take a travel break and visit a friend. Between a rowing regatta, proms, Mother's Day weekend, and what seemed like 46 billion other events, we eventually wound up driving here only because they could seat us right away. We had been driving around and calling places just trying to find something that wasn't indoors AND a two hour wait. I had to give up on the "not indoors" part. Clearly, I had concerns eating inside, especially since the county's mask mandate was (apparently) no longer in effect (which, at that time, was not very clear to anyone). I only saw one lone employee wearing a mask. Maybe that's why seating was immediately available inside? Their outdoor area was packed with what looked like an entire little league team AND a PPV fight airing. Yeah, like I said, 46 billion other events. Anyway, the service started slow but ended up going very smoothly for the duration. Our server was attentive and engaging. The beer was good and cold. With the options they had available there, it makes me wonder if the same folks that own Calhoun's own this place too...? The food wasn't as great as I had hoped, but it was edible. The potatoes were pretty good with their smoky flavor. But the meatloaf was really lacking, and the blue cheese slaw was just not good at all. I like coleslaw and love blue cheese, but I didn't like it one bit. With so many unique eateries all throughout Knoxville, this one won't be high on my list to revisit sadly. read more
