Stopped in for dinner after doing some browsing around the Mayfair Collection. It was pretty empty, probably because it's more of a breakfast/lunch spot. This location is a pretty cute set up. I'd liken it to Panera in the way they operate. They do a pick two/pick three option between salads, sandwiches, soups, or pastas. I tried one of their panini sandwiches, I thought it was a great size for a pick two and a good flavor. I also picked the pesto as my second option, and appreciated that as well. I think the value is there for the pricing. The employees were very friendly in our interactions as well, which is always appreciated especially in less service oriented places where you seat yourself. We ended up taking a muffin to go for the next morning, and I loved that blueberry muffin. The perfect mix of a little crunch and that dense moist consistency made my morning better! read more

Not worth the money. Food is mediocre at best and portion sizes are a joke. Spent $20 on what looked like 1/3 of a grilled cheese (yes, they literally cut it after making it - as if they were to use the other portion for anything else) and it was bland. Corner Bakery is like a nicer, cleaner (much, much cleaner than the filthy Mayfair location) Panera. The concept is similar - order at the counter and they'll bring your food when it's ready. The menu is similar too - soups, salads, sandwiches and a few pastas thrown in for good measure. Like Panera, they clearly post calorie counts which I appreciate. The food is solid - I had a turkey sandwich that included fresh avocados and crisp bacon. I loved the toasted whole grain bread but felt the turkey was pretty poor quality (think Pick'N'Save deli counter). Sandwiches come with chips but you sub baby carrots to be healthier if you want. Corner Bakery staff seems to be friendly and enthusiastic - and they've done some good training. Food was coming out quickly, despite the restaurant being totally full and only open a few weeks. CB is a great spot for a quick and cheap bite after you discovered the cashmere sweater sale at Nordstrom Rack and spent all your money (true story). read more

I was in line which I was the next person to get served but since I was in a wheelchair I was over looked. I business person came in after me and he got served. I asked is this custom for this business "last come first served?" I just wanted coffee but please don't discriminate ADA people. The lady felt bad and offered to pay for my coffee. I told her "no" I am getting used to people over looking me. I have a greater appreciation for Disability which I have been for a decade but since 2013 I have been using a wheelchair. We had a bad experience via UberEats, which wasn't the driver's fault. The quality of the food was disappointing, but not nearly as much so as the apathetic response by the manager, Karen. She promised to replace all three entrees, including the one we didn't receive, but she did not follow through. The food never came, she totally dropped the ball. Uber credited me for the missed items but not for the pathetic excuse of a chicken sandwich (see photo evidence.) I'm really amazed that this item made it past the expo and was considered okay to send to a guest. Boo! I encourage you to not patronize this location. read more

It's not that I have outright disdain for chains, it's just that, at most chains, you know what you're going to get: mediocre food, fair value, and service that's, well, serviceable. But every once in a while, a corporate restaurant arrives that's worth writing about. Today, that restaurant is the new-to-Wisconsin Corner Bakery Cafe. As I write this, the first CBC in the cheese state has only been open five days. If you've ever spent time in other major American metropolises, you'll immediately recognize the ubiquitous Corner Bakery Cafe. Seems like there's a thousand of them in Chicago's loop; Atlanta's not far behind. Corner Bakery Cafe mainly serves up breakfast and lunch fare. Paninis, pancakes, sandwiches, muffins, and salads are the main feed here--all of which are better than average. In fact, to me, what really makes CBC writing about is their bakery. Having filled me cheeks for much of the last decade with locally produced bakery from Alterra/Colectivo, I have to admit: Corner Bakery Cafe KILLS Colectivo in this department. Their bakery is fantastically fresh, often warm and right out of the oven. And it's infinitely better than Starbucks' offerings. For your coffee fix, however, you're still better off heading to one of Milwaukee's fine, local roasters. Corner Bakery Cafe's "hand roasted" (Roasted by hand? How is that possible? That's got to leave a mark!) leaves a lot to be desired. It's a little too weak for my caffeine-encrusted palate. I'm glad Corner Bakery Cafe finally made it to America's Dairyland. We just placed a huge pickup order for a work event and it was seamless. I was able to order online which is always a huge perk for that big of orders and I got to enter each employee's name in and then they put a sticker on top of the item with that name which was a HUGE perk to me. The order was ready when I went in at the exact time I had selected. I prepaid so it was an extremely easy transaction. The girl who gave me my order was a little apprehensive about if I paid which made me feel very awkward as I tried to offer her the printed confirmation in my hand which is where the star gets knocked down. But the food was all prepared accurately including special adjustments and for the price, we were all very pleased with our choice. read more

I've driven past quite a few times and had the chance to stop. We came in around 1:00-1:15 and it was INSANE. By the time we left, though, it had cleared significantly. My husband ordered soup and pasta, while I had a sandwich and salad - both of which were through their "Choose Two"-type menu. Overall, the food seemed fresh and was tasty. The staff, on the other hand, seemed quite a bit standoffish - including our cashier that simply walked away as we walked over for our turn to order without acknowledging that she would be right back. But, again, it was busy so I'm hoping that's all it was. The prices aren't terrible, but as a whole: This comes off too similar to Panera for me (just a small step above) to make the drive just to come here. That said, I think it's nice for a quick lunch if you're shopping in the connected center. read more

Corner Bakery Cafe? More like Cutting Corners Bakery Cafe! As a frequent diner at Corner Bakery, I've been highly disappointed in my recent visits to this establishment. Firstly, they have warped their lemonade recipe to taste how I imagine gremlin pee: bitter, watered down, and herbal. They forgot to put the lemon in lemonade... Furthermore, they've relocated their "lemonade" dispensers behind the counter with NO REFILLS! What gives!! Paying five dollars for a miniature sized cup of gremlin juice is utterly absurd, let alone not getting any refills! I've also been noticing that the sandwich, pasta, and even salad quality has declined. I am unsure whether they have meddled with those recipes too or simply are lacking care in the kitchen. Either way, this is NOT the Corner Bakery Cafe I have come to know and/or love. read more

Think of this chain as a little bit better version of Panera. The food is reasonably priced and consistent. They offer half sandwich and soup or salad specials which is a good way to try different menu items. The service was pretty quick considering how busy this place can get. My only knock was that they didn't drop off napkins with the food...just a small nit. For a buck or two more than fast food you can get a much better meal. If you are at the mall it isn't a bad place to stop for some shopping fuel. read more

A quick place to stop for breakfast or lunch when you're out running errands, conveniently located in the Mayfair Collection shopping center. I had the pomodori chicken panini which had basil, pesto and tomatoes on it. The bread was nice and crispy and the flavors made a great combo. I also substituted the Asian edamame salad instead of chips and it was great! A good sesame dressing with lots of crunch from the veggies. We also had the spinach salad which was full of fruit (mandarin oranges, strawberries and cranberries) plus goat cheese and crispy cinnamon raisin bagel pieces with a strawberry vinaigrette. I also had the black currant iced tea which had great flavor without being sweet. Our food came out quickly and all the staff was friendly and helpful. read more

So while I usually find Corner Bakery a solid 4 at this location (Wauwatosa), today it was not. Inside, same kind of ambiance as usual which is fine. The menu, changed, not the best change, but it is what it is so I will not complain as much. Today, it was the Food. I ordered my usual, DC Chicken sandwich. The Kwik trip is better. Here they took a spoonful of chicken , placed in the middle of the bread added a tomato and a piece of lettuce and served it. The bread was horrible, thin and dry falls apart...get rid of that bread. The chicken itself did not even cover 1/2 the sandwich. I asked for kettle cooked chips, they delivered regular ones, and by then I was over it. The other meal was a salad with chicken and this kind of "Asian" dressing. It was blah. CB needs to get real bread, go back to the real Thai salads and get the chili back on the menu. After a busy afternoon of shopping at the Mayfair Collection shops, my friend and I decided to stop in here for lunch. This cafe is a very good addition to the shopping center. It is clean, the staff is great, and so is the food. They serve pasta, sandwiches, salads, soup and chili. They also serve breakfast all day, every day. For beverages, they serve soda, smoothies, lemonade, frappes, and coffee. For my meal, I had the Uptown Turkey sandwich. It is smoked turkey breast served with lettuce, tomato, avocado and smoked applewood bacon on toasted harvest wheat bread. It was a fabulous sandwich. I had the truffle mocha coffee as my beverage. If you are a coffee person, I highly recommend trying it. My friend had their chili. She said that it had a little kick to it, but was really good. I hope that this place is around for a long time to come. There are definitely return trips here in my future. read more

I've visited several of these in the Chicago Loop, and when one opened in Tosa I thought I must try it. It was 9 AM on a Sunday morning so it wasn't packed. POSITIVES: Plenty of parking. Smallish, warm, and somewhat cozy. Friendly staff. Prices not too bad. Food delivery was very fast. NEGATIVES: Food items not very healthy. I was served the wrong entree. I requested the Anaheim Panini ($4.89) and a small coffee ($1.89). This panini includes avocado but no bacon. Mine came with no avocado, but had small bits of bacon in it. I didn't think the taste would be any different so I didn't call a staff person. The taste of the panini was dominated by the oil the bread was dipped in and eggs were cooked in. But the coffee was excellent for this type of cafe (it's not Peet's or Starbucks). read more

She even asked how we'd like it prepares, and prepared it for us before bringing it out to our table, when usually you self serve. I had been looking forward to trying corner bakery for weeks and finally stopped by to pick up some lunch to go. I got a pick 2: Asian wonton salad and tomato mozzarella sandwich. I got home and was enjoying the salad when I found what I thought to be a piece of hair. I began to pick it out only to discover that the "hair" was really an antennae of the grasshopper I had just pulled out of my salad!!! So disgusted. Corner Bakery is another version of Panera Bread, but I think with less variety and no bagels. Their bacon, cheese and egg panini is pretty good, their Mac and cheese is my nephews' favorite thing to get there. I was highly disappointed in the carbonara though. I will go in the future for their chocolate muffin, especially in the morning when it's still slightly warm. Employees have always been really helpful when I've been there and the restaurant has always been in good condition. read more

At this CBC location, you can expect incredibly friendly service (the great employees keep me coming back) and delicious food with quality ingredients. When I'm looking for a healthy meal, Corner Bakery is my go-to. The Asian Wonton and Spinach salads are personal favorites of mine. The hibiscus lemonade is also tasty. Completely recommend! read more
