While not a bakery in the conventional sense of the term, and not located on a corner (Do corners exist in the suburbs? A reasonable question), this joint offers good if unexciting food, at reasonable prices. You're not going to propose to your significant other here. No one is gonna want to nibble at your ear because you brought them to Corner Bakery. But the pasta and sandwiches are good. I enjoy the chicken pesto sandwich, and the cavitappi. Our visit was just okay. It took longer than it should have to get our food and my son's Mac & Cheese arrived just warm and not hot. My salad had oranges that were starting to ferment and although the manager did replace it she seemed to want to politely argue that the oranges on the make table and mine were fine. I went here on a promotion to get a free BLT mac. I ordered an additional lemonade and side Cesar salad. The mac was really good, but small for a normal price of $6.50. The lemonade was pre-poured in one of those open deli refrigerators. - ice-less, of course. If it wasn't the only non caffeinated option besides water, I would have declined. The Cesar was big, but over-dressinged. Yea, that's a a word now. The salad dwarfed my main dish in size. Don't often get to come here as it's not close to home. Always good food and great service. Today my muffin saw a tragic end and fell to the floor as it was being bagged for me. It was sadly the last one. The poor girl at the register was very apologetic, had to get the manager to void the sale. They gave me my coffee and offered a free pastry of my choice, again with more apologies. Glad to see good customer service is not lost. read more

Two ppl ate there, I dunno how ordered a salad for one person and a half soup/half sandwich can cost over $28.00 My sandwich come w/ avocado, asked no avocado....surprise avocado were all over my sandwich! Went in tonight for dinner before a movie. My panini had 0 taste to it. My mac and cheese was cold; I promptly returned it to an employee saying it was cold. Fully expecting them to re-make the dish I watched the employee put it in the microwave for 3 minutes then return it to me. I walked it back to the counter and called the employee out and he said "Well if you wanted it re-made you should have said so". I've worked in restaurants before and when something is sent back because it isn't right you re-fire/make it for the customer. To make matters worse he argued with me when I asked for the manager; she couldn't have cared less. At least I got a refund, we will never return to this location. i believe this was a total knock off of Panera bread but trying to be more upscale. THe place took a good minute to get our food to us despite being empty. The food was good, the ingredients were fresh so no complaints there. The mac n cheese noodles could've been a little less firm. I am in a group that meets here once a month. The staff takes excellent care of us- we have one member that uses a walker, and the staff will tell her to go find a chair and brings her order to her, eat in or take out. If any of the orders are not up right away, the staff brings them to our table The staff is always friendly and welcoming to us. This restaurant is always busy and the staff goes out of their way to accommodate. We also love the free Wifi : ) Great location if you are going to a movie too. read more

Decent food, bad service. Had to wait for a manager to cancel a transaction the cashier screwed up. Then had to go back for an item they forgot to give me. Then the cashier complained to the next person in line about me after he made those 2 mistakes and wasted 5 minutes of my hour lunch time. I just went today to order a uptown avocado turkey sandwich. A man had also just got into the place before me. We both waited in line as the girl taking orders was busy doing idk what. I could see another girl worker in the back glancing at me and laughing. Once the girl was done doing what ever she was doing, she took the mans order then mine. When she was taking my order I couldn't really hear her. She had the I really don't want to be here look. So I finally get my order, I go home, open it and guess what? My uptown avocado turkey sandwich does not have avocado. The avocado was the main reason I got it. This isn't the firs time something was missing from my order. Another time, they forgot the chips. I walked in behind one lady. No one was behind me. The lady spoke with a manager about a catering order. The cashier was on the phone. Three other employees walked around the kitchen area. I waited. I wasn't greeted, but would've appreciated an "I'll be right with you." By the time the cashier grouchily said, "I can take you here," there were 7 or 8 people in line behind me. I like this Corner Bakery location. It's got lots of parking, pleasant staff, a short wait for food, and they get our order consistently correct. CB ends up being a dollar or so more than similar restaurants (Panera, Noodles, etc) but the food quality and selection is much, much better in my opinion. I am obsessed with the chicken pomodori panini and order it with avocado every single time. It's greasy, it's flavorful, it's melty, I adore it. I have never ordered something I didn't like here. Their chips are kettle style and super crunchy, and I often order a little something extra from their bakery, and am never disappointed (mini Bundt cake! Red velvet mini bundt! Any kind of mini bundt!). For a "fast food" chain place that is better quality than the standard McDonalds but more delicious than Panera, Corner Bakery is a great compromise. read more

I would just like to say that I never thought I would be writing a bad review for Corner Bakery, but I felt I had to share the bad experience I had this afternoon. With the many options available around the Cantera area for brunch or lunch after church on a Sunday morning, my son said he had signed up for your E-Club the last time we were here a few weeks back, and that there was some promotion going on, so we decided to go there. I love your desserts, paninis and coffee, and the service has always been great! We went in and there was no one in front of us or behind us waiting to order, and I asked if they were still serving breakfast by chance. The woman behind the counter replied "we serve breakfast all day," and I asked her if there was a breakfast menu anywhere, since the menus were currently for lunch. She said, "um, no," in a flippant tone, and went on to say there were things on it such as "pancakes, and eggs." She didn't even bother looking for a menu, possibly being more helpful with the items available for breakfast, she just named off breakfast items sort of rudely and without an ounce of customer service. She walked away and left us standing there, so we just had to walk away as well and go somewhere else for brunch willing to get us a menu. Maybe it was just a bad day for her, but she definitely left a bad impression on Corner Bakery for us. read more

My requirements from Corner Bakery are few - I don't want to stand in line long, I want it to be clean and I want to enjoy my food. I'm fine with a neutral experience and I certainly don't expect to be 'wowed'. Unfortunately, I had a much-less-than-neutral experience two days ago. The purpose of my visit was a casual business meeting; I met two associates there at 10AM. When I first arrived, I was the only person in line and stood in line for 5 minutes while NO ONE was at the register. Not wanting to keep the other two waiting, I left the line, sat down and we started our meeting. A while later my stomach was really grumbling so I went back up in line. Again, no one was at the register, even though it was a bit busier; this time there were other people waiting to place orders. There were employees in the restaurant, but they were doing other things with no sense of urgency in helping customers. Again, I got out of line and went back to sit down. After another twenty minutes or so (and a third interruption to our meeting), I decided to stick it out and wait in line. When I got in line the first time, I intended to order the steel cut oatmeal. By the third time in line, it was past 11:00 and they no longer served it!! Finally at the register, the cashier was in the middle of taking my order when a woman who appeared to be a manager walked up to the cashier holding an empty carton of milk and started asking the cashier questions about the milk, as if I wasn't standing there. WTH??? I went to the soda area to get a lemon slice for my water and there were no utensils to pick up the lemons. No employees were within ear or eye shot of me, so I had to grab a lemon with my fingers from the bucket, being careful not to touch any of the others. Nice and sanitary, huh? Lastly, even though plenty of employees walked past our table, no one ever came by and picked up our empty dishes, even though they were stacked at the edge of the table. All three of us ordered our food at different times, which meant employees were at our table more than once. That means that multiple employees have no clue about good table maintenance. I couldn't wait to get out of there and I'm recommending that we meet at Atlanta Bread Company or any of the other 5 or 6 restaurants in that same area next time (Red Robin, California Pizza Grill, Chipotle, Rock Bottom, Stir Crazy...plenty of choices). Again - I don't expect a WOW experience but this was just one huge disappointment. Get it together!!! read more

My husband and I came here earlier today for the first time. I was a little nervous but ended up feeling really welcome by the girl who took our order! She was really helpful. I'm allergic to pepper and they make everything right there and had no issue with no pepper on my stuff. My food was excellent!! The cheese on my panini was melted, the herbs tasted fresh, the bread was nowhere near soggy, and the chicken was cooked perfect! I'm glad we decided to try this place! Their baked goods are also so fresh! We got a cookie and it was so soft and yummy! I'd recommend this place for breakfast or lunch! They do both! read more

I love this location! Every time I come, it's always clean, quiet, and an ideal place to get some work done. I usually come for breakfast, and always get the Anaheim Panini... it's SO good! Order a chopped salad to go, and we I got back to work there was no avocado on it. This is not the first time this has happened. If they are going to offer it on the salad, then they should put it on. I paid $9 dollars for a salad and did not get everything on it. Fairly basic. I had a soup and salad combo - the lentil veg soup was tasty and the dressing on the salad was good. The breadstick thing that came with it was not so great. It was sort of rubbery and definitely not fresh. I did like that I could choose a piece of fruit as my side. They also have the calorie counts on the menu - not sure if they are accurate or not but they are there. It took some time to get our meals out - it was a bit later in the lunch hour but the place was pretty crowded. Also, the ice machine appeared to be out of order. The Coke Zero out of the fountain tasted a little weird and not sure if it had something to do with the ice or not. It's all right - not somewhere I would seek out on a regular basis but a good compromise when we are a group at lunch. read more

I used to go to Corner Bakery when they were in Downtown Naperville more often than I do now....i have visied this location a few times the past few months to meet friends. Last week I had the 3 Salad Trio with "Mom's" Egg Salad, Pasta Caprese Salad and DC Chicken Salad......The Egg Salad was the WORST tasting Egg Salad I had ever had....it tastes "old"....... Ick...but the other 2 salads were good. CB's Vegetable Lentil Soup has a little kick but otherwise Good Tasting......I like the Oatmeal The Best....but I rarely get therein the AM.......this location must open early because our party of 3 ladies closed the restaurant at 8:30 PM......Maybe this location should only serve Breakfast/Lunch??? read more

I like Corner Bakery, I remember when they had one in downtown Naperville and I ate there a lot (maybe not enough though since they are gone). Anyway I obviously never had the Tuna Salad either, but that was the last time for me. I am not sure, maybe there are people that like everything in it, I deleted everything on the outside, but just not my kind of tuna salad, sorry. I did get a bowl of corn chowder, and it was good. Much better experience this time around. I have actually gone back a few times. The soup was piping hot and delicious. The tortilla soup is a bit spicy so watch out, great for those who like spicy. Haven't been to this location in a few years. Unfortunately, when you walk in the front as I did tonight, you are overwhelmed by the odor of a musty wet towel. This place stinks. It doesn't look dirty, but it doesn't have to, because when you can smell the bacteria, it's super gross. I NEVER complain about such things, but have worked in restaurants before, and know that smell. It smells like floor mats from the kitchen area after a long Saturday. read more
