Was on the hunt for a beef in Glen Ellyn/Wheaton area and found some recommendations for these guys. The beef was delicious and has a hint of heat on its own. I went with the hot giardiniera and it was a good size for me. The special combo price put the beef at around $8.50. Some complained it was short on beef. The cheese sauce for the fries tastes made in house. Extremely friendly staff. The interior is small but very clean. Small bath in back is a tight maneuver if handicapped. I just adore this gem! My husband and I moved the suburbs after living in Chicago over 10 years. If you've lived in the city - you know the local fast food joints that have gyros, pizza puffs, subs, etc are alllll over. Not sure if the one gentlemen who helps us each time is the owner or not, but pointing out he pays attention to the small things. Example - every time he hands you the bag to go, he hands it with the opening there to slip right over your hand. While minor to some, these little details are so appreciated and noticed! The food is amazing! I'm more of a plain Jane who sticks to ordering the same thing each time and they make a fantastic turkey sub! I always add pickles to it. Their ingredients are fresh, bread is soft and the sub just hits your taste buds. My husband always alternates! He's gotten burgers, gyros, pizza puffs, etc. everything is delicious! I pass this spot everyday so I stopped by and gave it a chance. Inside it was outdated and the floors are cracked and dirty and the tables where all dirty. There was no dining in all to go orders. I tried the ribeye steak sandwich and the smell when I unrolled it from the paper was a burnt char smell. The ribeye is cooked well done and it a thicker cut with grilled onions and chopped salad and mayo. It was lacking flavor so I add salt and some hot sauce. Overall it was okay not the best but not the worst. The hot dog nothing special don't recommend hotdogs here I will be back to try the cold subs and maybe change my rating. There's a lot of people that come in and pick up and the guy working the register is super cool and a lot of there customers are know from coming in a lot. read more

Nice restaurant with a variety of options on the menu and friendly staff. It's a little on the smaller side but just enough room if it's not overly crowded. I had the turkey sub and it was delicious and everything tasted fresh from the bread to the toppings on the sub. My Wife ordered the cheeseburger and fries and was pleased with it. Great place - BUT - starting to "jack" prices (even on the monthly 'specials') now, and scrimp on other items. Long-time customers have to be noticing this. - We used to go out of our way to get their chicken salads, which just a few months ago had LARGE STRIPS OF CHICKEN on top. Now, the salads are $1 more, and the large chicken strips are gone - replaced by little bitty chicken pieces (probably from a can). Very noticeable, and wrong. We had been getting this for 3-4 years, and easily noticed the sudden change. - No more Lent fish specials. The previous few years, various fish-related items (fish sandwich, shrimp dinner package) were discounted during Lent. IE. The Shrimp dinner package the previous few years was $12.25, discounted to 9.99 during Lent. Not this year. Again, and the prices on these items are now more (Shrimp dinner package is now $13.25). As mentioned generally, we've noticed varying degrees of change here in just the past 6-12 months. Jacked prices, jacked prices on the monthly "specials" (to the point where they aren't even really "specials" anymore), and scrimping on other items - especially the salads. We have loved going here and supporting them, but will be going less now. read more

She didn't get chips which were to be included, don't know if it was our fault or theirs but with all the fries I got, we had enough to share. She said the sub was "pretty good" and she really liked the bread, fresh nice and soft. Noting fancy inside, just good comfort food at a real good price. For the above, $16 and change, not bad at all. Take a drive across the street (Rt. 38) to Rathje park and enjoy your food.
