After we were seated, our waitress didn't check on us for about 15 minutes. The food itself was also disappointing -- everything came out pretty bland and lacking flavor. For me, a solid brunch spot in the Aurora area that can be nice for groups, if you can get there when it's not extremely busy. The dining room is setup efficiently and practical though it doesn't have some of the extra bits of decor to make it standout amongst other restaurants, but definitely has lots of farmhouse-like accents to make it clear that you're in a breakfast restaurant. The menu isn't super creative, but it does have all of the common favorites available to order -- about in line price-wise with similar options in the area (which is more expensive than suburbs closer to Schaumburg). The food is prepared pretty solid, textures are a bit better than expected like crispy corned beef hash, a nice firm texture on the banana fresh toast, and fluffy eggs -- while the flavor is pretty standard for a breakfast restaurant. Service was pretty reasonable as well though the restaurant was quite busy. Excellent breakfast spot. Nearly every table was full and the wait staff was busy! The omelet I ordered was huge (3 eggs, mushrooms, sausage & bacon). I had two very good pancakes on the side. They weren't quite as fluffy as I was expecting, but very good, still. They had potatoes on the side, but hash browns were not on the menu. My daughter had three pancakes and a side of bacon and egg. She was very satisfied. The staff was friendly and stopped at our table several times checking on us. I was in the area meeting up with a friend for lunch. There are no handicap parking spaces and there is a curb to step up to get into the restaurant. They recommend you get on their waiting list via Google on the weekends as it appears to get very busy. There are little signs at each table requesting you wear a mask except when eating or drinking and limit your time at the table to a maximum of 1 1/2 hours. You may order breakfast the whole time they are open. The food was served hot fresh and just as it was ordered. Our server was outstanding she was quick to get our orders and bring us our food. The food was very good, the turkey burger came with fries and a cup of soup and all of it was very good. The breakfast came with your of several sides. We came here on a weekday - so it wasn't crowded at all, although, I did see a sign upon entry that reservations were needed on weekends - not sure how it is then but just an FYI :) On to the food and atmosphere - just lovely. Maybe because we've been holed up from the pandemic or maybe because it truly was a gem, but the atmosphere was cozy and the food was Amaazing. I ordered an egg white veggie omelet - quite a large portion, enough to share or take home (although eggs don't travel well, so maybe stick with sharing or bring an appetite). The omelet came with two sides - I got fruit and pancakes. The fruit was a bit sparse but the pancakes were fluffy and omelet was grand. We're in the area for a week, while our Secondborn attends a Setter Academy, and this has been our restaurant highlight. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. All the servers feel like sweet Nonnas. If this isn't a family business, it sure has the personal touches of one. Started with coffee, which was terrific -- not bitter or too strong... just nice and smooth. While they didn't have any alternative milks for The Hubs (oat, almond, etc.), which was fine cuz he'll drink his stuff black, they did have stevia, which I *very* much appreciated. My son got the Nutella crepes, which he was concerned wouldn't be enough food, so he also ordered a side of eggs scrambled with chorizo (pls don't judge -- he's a teenager and an athlete... lol). When the crepes came out? Ginormous serving of three of them, topped with what looked like slices of maybe three whole bananas. He looked at me and joked, "no cramps." And syrup in a little glass jar came with it all -- I'm not positive it was real maple syrup, but it was a super nice presentation, nonetheless. His side of scrambled eggs & chorizo was terrific. Hubs got a make-your-own omelette, using egg whites, and other things he likes. It was also huuuge. And he commented how he appreciated the way his bacon was chopped up and integrated into it. It comes with two sides, so he got the fresh fruit, which was genuinely fresh -- a thick slick of pineapple, cantaloupe and watermelon. All ripe and delish. He also got to choose between toast or pancakes, and when he asked if they had gluten-free bread for toast, while they did not, they had GF pancakes -- even better! And our darling server double-checked if he wanted the powdered sugar & butter on top (as she also did with my son & his crepes), which is always a nice thing, in case someone doesn't want it that way. I so appreciate those double-checking touches. I got the Mexican scramble breakfast -- eggs with jalapeños, onion & tomato, that comes with rice, beans, salad, salsa & tortillas (corn or flour). Also could not finish this, but everything was super fresh -- from the chopped jalapeños, to the bean side, which was more of a "refried" style, but you could also see chunks of whole beans, which told me someone had actually hand-mashed it. With love, if I had to guess, given the rest of our experience here. All servings were substantial and we definitely had leftovers, which we enjoyed later. And we were offered coffee in to-go cups, which we didn't take (I was already buzzing from the cups I'd consumed at the table), but it was a nice offer anyhoo. read more

There are only a few things in life that really matter. A good breakfast is one of those things. Breakfast is typically made up of coffee, eggs, some sort of meat and a carbohydrate. How this gets screwed up, I don't know. It did though and this was in regards to the hashbrowns. When you think of hashbrowns we all know what they look like. We know what they should look like and how they should taste. Everything else was fine, but just don't order the hashbrowns. Save yourself the questioning of how hashbrowns are a difficult thing to get right and just go somewhere else. Breakfast restaurants that are crowded and can make hashbrowns are a dime a dozen. This will be my permanent go to breakfast spot in the Naperville area. Service: The staff I encounter were all locked in and worked GREAT as a team. They were fast friendly and moved with purpose. No one was on their cell phone and the cashier, possibly the manager, was genuinely interested in my experience. Food: I ordered the Mexican Skillet which came with FOUR eggs and a side of French toast (the other options, besides from French toast were toast or pancakes) I assumed the French toast would have an up charge but when I got the bill there was no up charge. The first time I went to this restaurant was excellent service excellent food today I went and the food was terrible my eggs I ordered medium they brought them to me over easy the waitress from the moment she started serving us she started throwing things at us the wooden sticks with which she stirs the coffee after that an accident happened with the water I called her three times to see if she could bring me something to clean and it seems she didn't like it she only went to throw some napkins at us after we finished cleaning she didn't even pick up the napkins there they were until we came the water kept falling then when she served us the coffee half of it she threw it on us and the other half in the cup the truth is terrible service I think it's a bit more embarrassing to me to see how she treated me and my family than her I will never go back when you go out as a family it's to have a pleasant time not an unpleasant one read more

I came here during the week to avoid the crowd. Nice distancing seating inside during COVID. I got corn beef hash, biscuit and gravy and hash browns. The corn beef is homemade and delicious. Biscuit and gravy is very tasty and the hash browns are divine. Fresh squeezed orange juice taste like it came from heaven. I have eaten here before and I liked it. But I was disappointed this time. The food was ok. But, when serving coffee, the server put her hand where you would put your mouth to drink from the cup. The fruit that came with the breakfast was soft, mushy and soggy. When I had told the server, she had brought another plate of fruit that had mold on the grapes. One of my favorite breakfast places! Every time I go back to Naperville I always make sure to make the drive into Aurora to get their delicious omelettes. My family and I typically go on Saturday or Sunday mornings and the place is always packed. I usually mentally prepare myself for around a 30 minute wait. The place has that divey breakfast diner feel which is very comforting and nostalgic albeit not always the cleanest. Service is usually a toss up depending on who you get but most of the time the servers are friendly and take orders and bring out food at a relatively good pace especially given how busy they always are. Every time I go I always order the country omelette. The sausage gravy works perfectly with the giant fluffy omelette that brings about a hint of sweetness. Their steamed potatoes aren't the best a bit bland and not moist enough at times but their Greek toast is delicious as well especially when drenched in butter All in all, definitely a favorite spot in the suburbs and though it does have its faults I'm always excited to go back whenever I get back to Illinois. read more

Funny, the last time I went here was like a decade ago before moving to LA and it's still the same amazing diner I once lived! Kind and welcoming staff, solid skillets and crepes, Blueberry Hill brings back so many memories from when I used to live in Aurora. Now that I'm back home in Chicago and living in the city, I won't get to go as much, but recently made a great memory there this Valentine's Day while crushing pancakes!
